This should be a no-brainer. Government should not be providing funds for abortion or supporting groups like Planned Parenthood. If private people or organizations want to, great, but not on the taxpayer’s dollar.

Along with everything else that’s wrong with it, it sends just the wrong message, as you said, regarding the “no consequences” mentality. The way things are, you don’t even need to put up your own money for an abortion because the taxpayer will pay for it anyway. How does that teach anybody how to be responsible for their own selves?
