Fresno's escalating corruption while covering up of ID theft, disappearances and suspected homicide as the city sewer/water/power infrastructures are being illegally altered is bad enough. But to add remote control to our thermostats as the accompanying "gassing through vents" scenario continues to take place seems like planning of a mass suicide / genocide. One of the people involved is the father of a local FBI agent - he repeatedly said that a disaster was coming, which would leave everyone dead. The problem is that they aren’t often right

They want to steer us based on their own personal feelings or beliefs. It’s like I (we) have been saying for a while. We are not accurately represented any more.

Somebody yesterday was bitching to me that Fred was asleep in the Senate because he didn’t generate any legislation. After giving it some thought I realized that it doesn’t matter how much legislation anybody generates, because 99.9% of legislation generated in Congress is just fluff aimed at making a statement or proving something to a special interest. So should somebody’s job in congress be judged by how much fluff they generate?

I guess if legislation was aimed at America in general and had our best interests in mind, yes. But not if it is just aimed at either exerting control and expanding government rule, or pandering to somebody, then no way.

They do think they know what is best for everybody, and even if they are right about it, it is none of their buisness. I just wish they would realize it. It is very insulting that they don’t think we can be trusted to make our own decisions.

That is true, although I still feel that there is a huge trust issue. They all seem to act like they truly believe that everything will fall apart if they aren’t there to guide everybody down the “right” path. It’s absurd and insulting.

I think the key word is “free”, they don’t seem to like the concept of “free”. There is nothing in it for them. With regulations come fees. Plus, they don’t feel like they are doinkg anything if their not banning or regulating something.

As a side note, why does the government have so little faith that the free market will do the right thing if allowed to operate without excessive regulation and control?

Here it is. It’s that slippery slope of the nanny state that people seem to think is a fable.

Once you open the floodgates and allow the government to start controlling your lives, it won’t stop.

They ave a voluntary program run by the electric company here that allows them to regulate how much you use you central air during peak electricity demand periods, but in return for volunteering for the program you get a credit on your bill.

That is the right way to do it. It works. Many people voluntarily go for the program. Having the state come in and take over like this is asinine to say the least!
