Bill Clinton Falls Asleep at a Martin Luther King Event
I just had to chuckle when I saw this. Bill Clinton, the first black president, fell asleep at an event honoring Martin Luther King. This is astounding coming from the man who as president supposedly did more for African-Americans, ( sorry about the hyphenated-American reference, as I believe we are all Americans without need of the hyphen), than any other president in history, he is on-stage sleeping during a speech. How does he get away with saying he did more for blacks than any other president anyway? I think there may have been one other president who did a little something for black people in this country, like FREE THEM!
Just check out this quote he once made to Dan Rather while he was president:
When he was president, he told Dan Rather, “If I can take a nap, even 15 or 20 minutes in the middle of the day, it is really invigorating to me. On the days when I’m a little short of sleep, I try to work it out so that I can sneak off and just lie down for 15 minutes, a half an hour, and it really makes all the difference in the world.”
What do you suppose he was doing on those nights when he was a little short on sleep while he was president? “Baby put your blue dress on, I’ll get the cigars, I’ll be there in a minute, I have to bomb an aspirin factory first.”
