DP: Because among many other things, 9/11 was a failure of human understanding. It was mean and nasty and bitter attack on the United States. But it was also about the failure of human beings to understand each other, and to learn to love each other. And it seems to me that that lesson and that warning is something that we must carry with us everyday. You: Yes, he basically said America failed to understand how the terrorists feel, that we need to learn to accept the terrorists and understand them better so they will leave us alone. Yeah, that's totally what he said. Sorry, but even if you ignore his second sentence completely -- even in that fractured context, it beggars reality to take away such a puerile understanding of his words. Stop insulting your readers' intelligence with deliberate disingenuous of this flavor.

So you’re saying that, by not prosecuting a government agent who erred during a standoff with a separatist…that this somehow makes him a moonbat?

Sorry, that’s beyond risible — you’d be a gibbering loon if a prosecution against an FBI sniper was carried out under the Clinton Administration, howling about how the woman deserved it for being in such close proximity to the traitorous Weaver, and that we were ‘taking away the tools by which we can prosecute terrorists,’ a moniker which I’m sure you would apply to this Weaver fellow, if the FBI were to be required to second-guess themselves while protecting the homeland. Similarly, you would not only give a pass, but heartily commend Bush’s sagacity in not pursuing charges under the same circumstances. Spare me.

Second, I am just a blogger, I am not a journalist, so this post has nothing to do with journalism, nevermind being responsible. I know many bloggers take them selves too seriously and believe they are journalists, I do not and am not.
