I do think it was in bad taste for the press to ask Chelsea about her father’s affairs. But I don’t think it was going too far to attack former president Clinton because he made himself the story when he began injecting race into the primaries.

I both agree and disagree with you on this. The Democrat race was between Obama and Hilary. It should have stayed between them just like it should stay between Obama and McCain.

However, there is a line you do not cross if you do not want the feedback. If you open your mouth and jump into the mosh pit that is a political election campaign, you better be ready for it to come back at you. If she didn’t want the attention, then you be the supportive family member that just waves and says Hi.

She opened her mouth and made her statements jumping into the middle of the campaign. That makes her fair game like anyone else who jumps in the middle. In or out, you can’t have it both ways. Is Chelsea fair game? If she jumped in the mosh pit, then yes. If not, then no.

Same thing goes for the other kids of the candidates. If the candidate is looking out for them, he / she should request they only say “No comment, talk to my Dad / Mom he / she’s running I’m not.”
