Madison Wisconsin may ban Drive-Throughs at Restaurants to Fight Global Warming

2008 June 25

Here I go again. I know that I have repeatedly written that the issue of global warming is a political issue, not a scientific issue, and I know that I have repeatedly written that global warming is really only about two things; taxes and control. But here I go again, how can I help it when I read a story like this one.

Madison Wisconsin is debating whether or not to ban the drive-throughs at fast food restaurants.

Given the concern about all the carbon going into the atmosphere, I’m not sure we should be building more places for people to sit idling in their cars

There you have it, next we will be told how long if at all we are allowed to leave our cars idling. Wait a minute that is already happening.

These people are getting out of control. Who would have ever thought that in the United States of America the government would decide that people can’t sit in their cars while the cars are idling?

I know I sound like a broken record on this, but think about what all of the supposed remedies for global warming include, either more taxes or less freedom. Or both. Americans need to say enough is enough, otherwise it will be ban this and tax that until we have no money left and no freedoms to spend that money on anyway. We will just be good little subjects.

    Let’s look at the math…

It has been said the amount of CO2 put into the air by the actions of humans is equivalent to the width of a dime on a football field.

Of the 25% of the oil of the world the USA uses, 66% goes into standard household products not the gas tank.

To calculate what little time is spent in a drive-through as opposed to toll booths at the Illinois border, clogged commuting traffic in Madison or Milwaukee, stopping at red lights, warming up the car in January so you do not damage the engine and let’s limit the usage of tar and asphalt on road repairs because that’s using fossil fuels too. Can’t forget the usage of snowblowers used throughout the state and snowmobiles in the upper half as nearly a required vehicle to get around.

I’ve lived in Wisconsin for most of my 37 years. I wonder of these idiots really get around much. Much less actually study science versus the latest pile of vile spewed out there.

Unbelievable!! Yet, this shouldn’t surprise me since Madison is one of the most liberal places ever. I used to live near Milwaukee and knew how liberal Madison was.

Well, ah, there you go! (in case it doesn’t come through, that was my Imus imitation) I saw a story on the news that made a big deal about using more gas while idling, now this. I’m tellin’ ya, this is going to cause people to run red lights, etc., car accidents, pestilence, cat & dogs living together. Just let people drive their cars! Good Lord!

Only lazy people use drive throughs. The little extra excersize to grab your 4000Cal meals will do you good.
