I hate this chciken humping imbred, it’s too bad that he has come as far as he has. He has real charm and I am finding it hard not to like him, but at the same time he is just too naive to fill this position. How can someone as young as Barack Obama, with the negative views of an African-American (he believes like all the others that he is owed something), and finally didn’t have a real father which always caues a fathers complex. I hope for the sake of my country that this guy makes it, but I don’t think he will be in this good of a “standing” position by the end of his firt term. By the end of his first term he will be “laying down” just like all the other fake ass presidents we have.

i thiink BARACK OBAMA will be one of the best presidents that america will have.his speeches are really real and emotional.i thiink he knows how to lead a country and how to really get peoples attention.he can really get to peoples heart.the assassination attempt just shows how low some people are.i knew that McCain didnt stand a chance against Obama.McCain won by a hundered something votes and Obama won by seven hundered something.i know that obama is going to make a really good president and he is going to make America a better country.

In the 80′s the IRA got relatively close to Prime Minister Thatcher. She had gloated on how they would never get her. Their response was that she had to get lucky every single time; they only had to get lucky once. The fact is that the FBI and Secret Service are very good at their jobs. However, the internal British intelligence services are better and had to police a much more rigorous gun controlled society with a much smaller land mass.

Most modern terrorist organizations look to the IRA as a model. Organizations here will take that lead. They already have access to weapon caches that their European counterparts would salivate at. It is very difficult to keep at bay a motivated fanatic with an agenda.

The obvious idea is to suppress them. In our society, that is a difficult proposition. If we do so that is silencing our unalienable rites. People already are wary of current laws, would they accept further in order to set a dangerous precedent to protect one president?

Israel lost a PM and they have a top notch security service, probably superior to ours. Neo Nazi and White Supremacist doctrine is to start a race war. Every time there is a riot that is ethnically bent their ranks swell. Assassination attempts are a win for them. Even his family is now a legitimate target in their eyes. What about those even motivated within his own ranks? The Israeli PM Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated by a member of his own party.

Remember, Reagan was almost killed and that is within the last twenty-five years. Kennedy was hardly the first successful Presidential assassination. They only have to get lucky once.

I’m also surprised that this did not get any more media attention. I’m not sure either party would really want that to happen.
The Republicans exploiting the story weakens their strongest possibility to win the election(the general racism of the average american voter). And increases the importance of Joe Biden ( A popular choice among that same group as well as middle of the road republicans).
The Democrats obviously would not want to point out their candidates possible (probable?) longevity issues.

hmm…..attempt to assasinate a potential candidate? Its hard to believe that the entire media haven’t flashed this as a headline. The speech of political figures are dissected into communication techniques by the masses for hours, yet a threat to the lives of the country’s potential leader is taken lightly. If it was some actor, I’m sure it was be all over the news like there was no tomorrow.

I hope, however, that this alerts the Secret Service and reminds them to be extra vigilant. Obama is a special candidate, and our nation has a sad history of special candidates getting assassinated.

The confession of a plan does not fit with the conclusion of the investigators.

If the man did confess to planning to shoot the candidate, that is a threat.

Something is off in this: the original confession or the conclusion.

It might be argued that even a confessed plot is not a real threat if the man is on drugs and incapable of carrying it out, but that would mean someone somewhere was actively discounting a real plot.

People jumping out of hotel windows at the knock of police are unusual. Just surviving a six story fall is unusual, if that is correct.

There are enough flags in the news items about this to make me wonder where the truth lies, but not provide the truth at the moment.
