A time when those who had so much wealth that the economic stratification lead to a large part of the population being poor. This eventually led for the people to ask for income tax. First it was flat then it became graduated. Socialistic policies are in this nations fabric; it wasn’t until cold war and red scare did everyone start freaking out about socialism. As far as I am concerned, if you live in society that allowed you to be rich, its your responsibility to ensure that the society is in good shape. The last 30 years of legislature have allowed for the US to rot, and now the stink is so bad everyone is asking for change. Just fyi, I did not go into historical detail by choice and I make more than 250000. Good luck to you all in the next 2 years as we try to move out of this mess.
