70 House Democrats May be Vulnerable in 2010

December 29, 2008

I know that people want to take a break and not think about elections for a while after what was probably the longest campaign cycle in history but there is not any time for letup. That is why I have already written at least two posts about the mid term election of 2010, and here comes another. Conservatives do not have the luxury of taking time off now that the presidential election is over. Now is the time that conservatives need to start looking forward and rebuilding for the next election, there is no time to waste. Democrats are already looking at holding on to their majorities and Republicans need to concentrate on making gains RIGHT NOW for 2010.

Democrats are already telling their constituents not to rest easy because of the gains that they have made in the last two elections. There is a belief by some Democrats that as many as 70 Democrat seats could be vulnerable in 2010 and conservatives need to start focusing on them immediately. There is no time to waste.

Harry Reid is already feeling the pressure and now it appears that he is not alone.

We have a daunting challenge ahead in the 2010 midterm elections,” Democratic House campaign chief Chris Van Hollen says in a year-end Web video thanking supporters. “Many of our new members are from conservative areas with long histories of Republican representation. We are looking at potentially 70 — 70 — threatened Democrats who will need our support

Now is not the time to lick our wounds, now is the time to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and start all over again. It may be a long road but the journey must start and it must start now. You may be tired of elections and of politics but to delay starting will just delay results and we cannot afford any delay. Literally or figuratively.

Conseravtives need to get the message out there and it must start now. It isn’t too soon to look towards the next election, on the contrary, it is imperative that we start looking forward to the next election. Liberals are and we can’t fall behind once again. We need to adopt the liberal practice of attack, attack, attack.

If we sit idly by now we will be wondering how we lost yet another election in 2010. The time for action is now. Democrats know it and we must learn it.

What the heck are you smoking in that cigar? If Obama unites America, the GOP is done. Start writing the obit. If Obama fails to unite America blame the Joe Plumber or Sarah Palin in GOP who stood in opposition. Surrender Dorothy!

    @ Cecil Jones
Obama has and will continue to widen the divide in this country. And your divisive comments prove my point. You cannot even tolerate a man voicing a dissenting opinion on his own personal blog. The only way that obama will be responsible for uniting this country is by driving us to the point of revolution and restructuring.
And if you believe differently, then you need to clean out your crack pipe. Or maybe you been to roughly impacted and it is affecting you thinking. Reference your Dorothy comment.
And I’m just guessing here, but based on your suggestion of blaming others for one’s own failures, you voted for obama based on his appearance.
I love how the libs accuse anyone who disagrees with them of being divisive and yet continue to make disparaging remarks about anyone to the right of John Carey.
Mr. Pink Eyes, very democratic of you to allow dissenting remarks in your comment section.

The democrats have controlled the House of Representatives for 63 of the last 79 years. This is the time from midterm elections under Hoover. They actually held it tightly for 40 years straight at one point, 1955 – 1994.

I posit that since appropriations originate in the House that it is time for Republicans to get another shot at it. The democrats obviously don’t have any sense of restraint at this point. Bush tried to appease the socialist with prescriptions drugs and other big government ideas. We need a Congress of any brand that really understands that we need to live within our means. Healthcare a right? No, not really!

We need term limits and we need to cut back the benefits for these Washington loitering class including retirement/pension benefits and medical benefits so they don’t want to make politics a career. I have never seen a politician that can’t be replaced in about an hour. Americans don’t get much for the money that we spend on these rascals anyway so we need to cut back. It has been suggested that we cut positions in Congress (constitutional amendment needed) and their staffs. The rest of the country has had to tighten their belts except for the large (19) banks that don’t know how to handle money so we give them taxpayer bailout money! ???

However, if we get big government Republicans in the House, not true conservatives then it is time for a major third party! All Americans need to participate in the Townhall meetings until these ladies and gentleman quit spending our grandkids money on stupid ideas!
