Homeland Security Classifies Returning US Veterans as Potential Terrorist Threat

  This morning I wrote a post about a Homeland Security paper that warned about “right wing extremists” and the threat that they may pose to the government.

  This paper basically lumped in people who are either pro second amendment, anti abortion, anti illegal immigration, or pro smaller government (or more than one or all of the above)  with white supremacists and domestic terrorists. As maddening as I found that paper there was one aspect to the paper that I missed this morning and to me it is much more egregious.

  This is what the Department of Homeland Security thinks about our military men and women who are overseas fighting on our behalf:

the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks

  That is unforgivable. To suggest that some of our troops will come home and form or join terrorist groups is beyond reprehensible. And why suddenly is the Department of Homeland Security suddenly using the “T” word again when talking about our troops when they refuse to call the actual terrorists what they are?

  The report continues:

Returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are attractive to right-wing extremists,” it says. “DHS/I&A is concerned that right-wing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize veterans in order to boost their violent capacities

  I find it very interesting to see how these people really feel about our veterans.

      Why would the government fear returning Veterans? More will end up homeless, rejected by the VA, Baker acted, divorced and lose the children than will ever turn on the very nation that sent them into harms way and then treats them like they are terrorists rather than help them adapt back to civilian life or family counseling to help them keep their families alive.

      Returning Veterans are less of a threat to this nation than the government, politicians and congressmen who plot and plan to destroy it every day. Permitting a Mosque to be erected at ground zero has as much right or place as building a swine slaughter house in Iraq. I personally cannot believe that you government could stoop to such a low level but then I am reminded of JFK, Ruby Ridge, Waco, 911 and on and on and on…..

        Well said Stephen! You just hit the nail on the head. And I would add, why would our vets team up with the very people they were fighting against, who they watched slaughter their brothers and sisters on combat? My fiance is USMC SSgt combat veteran 5 tours Iraq and Afghanistan (that would be over 4 years in extreme combat situations), and it would be a cold day in hell before he’d ever team up with Islamic extremists (aka TERRORISTS).

        USMCVet_Sgt – I am very sorry this is what happened to you. You deserve better. But I know it’s reality because I’ve seen it every day for going on 3 years now, with the past 2 years watching my fiance battle with the VA for cancer treatment caused by toxic exposures while serving in combat overseas. But, let’s deny treatment, reduce VA and keep increasing copays and costs so that we bankrupt our vets (like us) trying to fight for their lives when they were lucky enough to return home alive and not in a box.

        No, the Obama Regime fears veterans and returning troops because if the Obama Regime tries to enforce gun control, destroy the Constitution, etc., they know veterans know how to fight and use many kinds of weapons and many vets have said they took an oath to defend the Constitution of the U.S. and will, even if it means a Civil War, which it should. Our over 220 years as a nation is worth fighting for, not to support a proven pathological narcissist, studies by world experts in the field of narcissim shows Obama is in a dangerous type of narcissim as Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Jim Jones and Saddam Hussein. He has hated the U.S., Christians, Jews and Whites for most of his life, all his friends prior to his campaign for President were all past and/or present Islamic Muslim or American terrorist, Marxist, a former PLO leader, a anti White, America and anti Jews fake Minister of God, preaches hate and treason. So veterans, ‘KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY.

        Stephen Rickett: You’ve got that right! I would TOTALLY trust a returned serviceman/woman behind me with a firearm than I would a politician standing behind me with the same. @ Ian MacRanald, You, too, hit the nail on the head. They are afraid of our military people, because nearly all our Military folk have honor, and Barry Slick, the Con-man, and his gang have not a drop. Honor is a power, and one which they cannot comprehend, except that it is far stronger and much more valuable than their own sick type of power, which relies on lying, cheat and deceit. So, this administration’s coming out with these statements is merely to try to remove some of our service folk’s power with ‘We the People’ (us) Unfortunately, there actually ARE still too many people in America that believe if they hear something on TV, it is gospel-truth, and that our government is somehow chock-full of men and women of massive integrity, instead of the dens of liars, scammers and thieves it has largely become. Those ignoramuses are the ones that will believe anything a person in an authoritative position tells them is the truth, whether or not it is a bald-faced lie. They are planting the seeds of mistrust, so that it will be easier for them later to pimp the public into turning in our Military folk if they disagree with the government. They have already done away with the Writ of Habeus Corpus, and likely many more laws, in order to facilitate their communist takeover. One election will not change the stench in the pigpen overmuch, either. It will take a while to eradicate these rotting snakes.

        The far left radicals have always feared our military. The military oath is first and foremost to “defend the US Constitution against enemies both foreign and domestic”. The left is bent on changing our nation into a socialist state, which goes against the most basic principles of the Constitution. Why do you think so much effort has been made by the left to dismantle our military over the passed 40+ years? Now, they declare vets to be potential terrorists, yet they refuse to use the word terrorist in connection with anyone who is a Muslim?

        They’re the biggest threat because they’re TRAINED MILITARY, that’s why. They KNOW how to use various weapons, have been mentally conditioned to kill, likely HAVE killed and thus have had a lot of those mental restraints removed that keeps an average untrained person from killing. They know that when it all goes down, they’ll be some of the first to pick up a gun and start shooting. They also know that during their time in Iraq, Afghanistan or the like, that they’ve heard the real truth about what’s going on and are awake. That is why Ron Paul has consistently received MORE money from ACTIVE duty overseas military than ANY other candidate in his 2008 and 2012 presidential bid.

        Its not that the government fears them. Its a tactic to get the message across for people to become weak and harmless as a goal. Their are secret societies that have been planning a complete change in the world. A one world government. They have been planning and working on this for almost 100 years. JFK tried to warn us in a speech he gave a few days before he was killed. A speech about “secret societies having bad plans for us that Americans wouldn’t like”. The speech should still be on You Tube. This is why they are discouraging people from living off the grid, and having property in rural areas. They want to keep people together and in cities. The plan has been that all countries will be subject under this New World Order. Its why they are using the Pope to push for one world religion which incorporates all the religions in one. Brittain has already allowed their Muslims to practice their Sharia Law. You better get on board and start educating yourself. The people, societies and groups that are bringing all this forth do not even car that any of us already know. There is nothing we can do about it. And we are naiive if we believe it couldn’t happen. It IS happening. And they’ve been working on it a little at a time, so that we get used to the changes in a gradual way. They want to take American’s guns away to make it less messy when they take over. So they are using the past shootings to have an excuse for working on taking away all of our firearms. Brilliant tactic.
        Start checking it all out. So far, government officials have called it a conspiracy theory, but if you educate yourself, you will begin to see the forest through the trees. Several former Presidents have talked about the new World Order. Most likely, people didn’t pay attention or know what they were talking about. I’ve seen speeches where Clinton, and both Bushes mentioned a New World Order.

      Right wing? Would that be like Black Water, now XE and USTRAINING? For hire paramilitary private mercenaries and armies or like Katrina, Waco and Ruby Ridge where military forces were used against civilians? Which right wing do they mean? Would that be the unlawful orders that are being issued to our military forces in and outside the United States to use, disarm citizens with up to and including deadly force against unarmed individuals and groups? The same right wing that sends our troops to war without congressional authority? Can you say false flag just like Operation Northwoods?

      I served my country honorably only to find out that my government is funding fathers to felons programs to keep fathers from their children? I want to see a Medal of Honor recipient put into the President’s seat of our nation to show this nation a precedent that about how to treat your countrymen and servicemen. Someone who is not on the take, lying their way into office and will work their ass off to get the job done of cleaning up this nation and going home at the end of the day knowing they made a difference (rather than counting their booty or wiping off on some intern rather than doing their job).

      We the people can make a difference and although Alex Jones says a lot of good things his DOOMSDAY voice and “poison planet” name is not helping the good of the nation or the world. I believe in the Bible, God and Jesus Christ and the prophecy of the end of day. But since God didn’t give up an exact date for the end of days I can only hope and pray that this world does not end it all millions of years ahead of schedule.

        I totally agree with you! A President that has never served his country is a ridiculous idea- how can one be a Commander-in-Chief if he’s never ‘commanded’ more than a toy soldier army in the dirt outside his Mamma’s house? Ridiculous thought. We totally DO need a (?wo/)man of honor to serve, as General George Washington did. Only problem is, that men and women of honor have no lust to control a nation or a world, and they are reluctant to step up to the position. Furthermore, the mostly weird groups of people that make those huge campaign donations so they can essentially buy their guy a place on the WH “throne” in order to further their own agendas will not step up and donate mightily to someone that will not further their warped cause, So your dream-candidate (and mine) will not likely show up to fight the battle for the Presidency, unless we rout the man or woman out, beg, cajole and plead with him/her to step up to the plate, then we give up a year or two of our lives to campaign incessantly for this person to garner donations to keep them in the race. No, it would be a HUGE job.

        Medal of Honor Winners: Read your History about those men; most all have/had PTSD; had alcohol/drug problems. Many were further used by the govmn’t as pawns to further the war efforts. Many were eventually homeless, destitute, or just plain used and abused by the system. Read: Medal of Honor by Allen Mikaelian. The government is using our young men as pawns (cannon fodder) for political and big business monetary gain. I am a Vietnam combat vet, I have been blown up 7 times and I should have been killed 10 times in 9 months; what the government learned from Nam; how to wave the flag and dupe the public into giving their children to their war effort to control the world. Why do you think the young men are still coming home from the Sand Wars disillusioned, just as we did. And they are already being labeled as terrorists by homeland security. I know for a fact this is happening; The village I used to live in wanted my property and the police chief came to my house and said, “If you do not cease and desist our efforts to gain your properties, we will arrest and try you as a terrorist.” The police are out of control and are nothing but self-righteous thugs; the US Gestapo is real and dangerous. And they are better armed than the military and there will be an attempt to disarm the public and we will be at the mercy of the politicians and big business which are the same. Bend over and kiss your ass good-bye !!!!!

        Should Christians allow themselves to be exterminated in the name of love for fellow man, or blind subservience to government, or military authority like the Jews of WWII were? Is that what you infer about Christian love? We don’t want to blow it up, any more than we are willing to go to war or kill frivolously, but we are men of the one, true God, and we will fight mercilessly and viscously to defend ourselves and each other because our enemies are many, and because we must, but never for personal gain. We are in it to win it, and to the end.

        It has been mostly Christians who have been dying in the defense of this country, its’ Constitution and its’ people since the beginning. All those critics against us who never defend anything beside their personal interests and gain are our most ardent critics. Your are laughable and dangerous to us. It is you who do nothing in the presence of undeniable evidence of coming oppression and destruction of our Rights of Man who are the terrorists Yet when the hammer comes down, it is you who will come beggin us to preserve you.

        I do agree that ripping faces off is not reaching people with the love of Jesus-the-Christ (name and title), Christ was always found with the drunks, whores, etc. Its the sick who need a doctor. But he dident sin with them, Thru his love, and understanding the sinner was attracted to what he had to offer. The thing is to know when to stop casting your perls before the swine. I do not agree with a homosexual lifestyle, its wrong. not because christ is judging there heart, he is judging the damage they are doing to there bodies, and mental health. And yes, its no more wrong than someone smoking 3 packs a day. Its the twisting of our creators design, it always leads to destruction. What really is evil, is the planned asault on Gods creations, to further these sins. Teaching kids to be gay, promoting all kinds of posion. How can you expect a child to grow up with a well rounded view of life, when he is told there is no right or wrong, we are all just evolved animals, if it feels good, and you can get away with it do it. Im sorry for going all over the place, this is the first time I have ever replied to anything. My overall point is that we must show love, but there does come a time that we must stand up to this wicked system. I’m sure the powers that be would love for us all to just sit, and tell everyone how much we love them, and never get any real work done for God.

    The memo coming out of DHS sounds foreboding. Some seem to think it was meant to deflect the attention the Tea Parties would get today, but I have doubts about that. DHS has served it purpose well up to this time–I had some disagreements with them during the Bush years, but overall it appears they did a good job. Now however, they seem to be taking a political stance instead of a security one and this is troubling. We’ll have to see how this one plays out. I just came up with a new seal for DHS, a poor effort, but best I could do with tools at hand. Leave you the link in case you want to check it out.DHS

        don west, you are so right about all these fat lazy, passive jellyfish, most of them don’t have any idea what they’re talking about and feel real bloody brave typing their crap on websites in the form of anti-USA, anti-Constitution, etc., but if they were given the chance to move to Communist China or Communist North Korea, they wouldn’t, they like to bitch about the very people and/or groups that protects their rights here in the U.S. And what about the Hollywood slime, they wouldn’t move either, they wouldn’t want to give up the millions, their fine cars and homes.         And to all the fellow veterans getting screwed by the VA hospitals, how many of you and the veterans organizations have stood together and complained that while deserving veterans can’t get medical help or disability, yet 8 to 9 million illegal aliens are receiving welfare money, food stamps, free health care, housing, etc. Race slime bags, it Obama and his cult that supports the Islamic killers and illegal aliens getting the handouts. And liers like Nancy Pelosi says the illegal aliens are here to do jobs Americans won’t do, I can agree with some of that and as far as I’m concerned they can stay, but the “majority” of the illegal aliens are on hand outs, not working at all, came here only for handouts and didn’t plan to work!!

        And why is all the splineless slim’s hero, Barack Hussein Obama, filling the U.S. with Hamas, the most dangerous of all Islamic terrorist. The last group numbered 100,000!! Brought here at taxpayers expense, plus handouts and more to come. THE BIGGEST THREAT TO OUR NATIONAL SECURITY IS B. HUSSEIN OBAMA AND HIS APPOINTED SLIME.

        Oh yes, for all you black liberal whiners who screams racist or biggot when real Americans, white and black, don’t like Obama’s anti-constitutional acts and lies for his Islamic brothers while calling our troops terrorist, well folks your African-American Lord Obama can’t even tell the truth about his race, his supporters and he himself says he’s African-American, sorry but Mr. Obama is 50% WHITE, 43.75 Arabic and only 6.25% African-Negro, fact!!         Also, most so called veterans today whose bad mouthing the military, telling ties, etc. are much like the 92% of the Vietnam Veterans Against The War members during the Vietnam War, they were liers, most didn’t serve in Vietnam and many never served in the military.

        Now, for all you anti-America, anti-Constitution, anti-military, anti-Christian, racist, thinks Obama is a God and thinks your crap doesn’t stink, kiss my ass, where’s all the defending, truth and facts about the only people screwed in America by the government, by Whites and Blacks, politicians, etc.,
        “THE NATIVE AMERICANS”!!!! They were the first slaves in America, along with White children from the streets of London, the were murdered in mass, just about every acre of land in North America was stolen.     This morning, we also learned that any person who has strong opinions, such as anti-abortion or the right to bear arms, may be a domestic terrorist. We need to read the document produced by Homeland Security, which may come to be know as the “Thought Police,” which in turn may come to be spelled “SS.” Those of us foolish enough to have opinions could find ourselves “detained,” questioned, perhaps prosecuted for “thinking.”

      Pat, Obama has placed practicing Islamic Muslims in key positions in Homeland Security. When I say practicing Islamic Muslims, I mean they attend mosque and practice and believe the teachings of the Qur’an, which is anti-Christian and Jewish. And their goal is to make Islam the world religion and the liberal politicians in the U.S., Canada, U.K., and most of Europe are betraying their own countries in favor of Islam over riding other faiths and under the EU government laws, if you speak out about your countries rights, etc. being violated to cater to the Islamic Muslims or your a politician campaigning and saying things such as, we need to take out country’s language, heritage and culture back from the Muslims, you’d be arrested under EU hate crime laws. In the U.K. if a British citizen is flying their countries flag and an Islamic Muslims walks or drives by that house, they can go to the police and say the flag offends them, the police will go to that house and tell the owner to remove his nations flag because it offends a Muslim. And it will get worse in the U.S., after all it’s ruled by an Islamic President and anti-America liberals. Yes, Obama’s still an Islamic, read the Qur’an about quitting the faith, why was he spared if he quit, allowed in mosque, etc.

      By the way, Obama’s grandmother openly said she was at his birth and it was in his fathers village, IN KENYA.

    Who made the comments about veterans being possible terrorists i would really like to know. Why would anyone want to call the Americans, that are putting their lives on the line to help us keep the way of life that we are all so used to, something like that?

    My fellow Americans:

    For twenty years I have been listening to liberals trying to portray conservatives as evil rather than regarding us as as a necessary competing economin and political theory. I regarded them as merely bitter at their lack of ability to hold political power and their lack of effectiveness when they do.
    I have always been a strong believer in the two party system and regard the input from both sides as neceessary to arrive at the best solution to any problem. The events of the last few weeks have completely changed my mind and I now regard the left as evil.
    The suguestion that our own returning veterans be classified and potential terror threats to be watched carefully. At the same time that we are in the process of closing the detention center at Guantanimo bay releasing known terror threats some of them into the population of the United States.
    The liberals with the exception of a few seats necessary to achive a completely veto proof senate, have everything they could possibly want. Instead of setting out to prove they can lead more effectively than conservatives could they are more concerned with consolidating power.
    The Tea Party movment composed of citizens concerned over runaway government spending are margionalized in the liberal media as Anti Obama right wing nuts. Americas returning veterans who should be regarded as heros are put under a cloud of suspicion. And the very free speach that founded the United states and is one of its most important principals has come under attack from the Speaker Of The House.
    The Fairness Doctrine which was scrapped by the left so that the television and movie media could aid in the return to power of the left will be resurected in a new form. The left has consolidated control over television and the movies while abandoning the radio air waves to the exchange of conservative thought.
    Recrafting the Fairness Doctrine in a way that would only apply to conservative talk radio is the goal of Nancy Pelosi. Once free speach is available only to liberals then what would be the next logical step in this “Agenda of evil”, I am only spectulating but my perdiction is the final assault on “gun rights”.
    Make no mistake the attack on the U.S. Constitution is been raised to the level of full scale warefare. The rights to liberty, the persuit of happiness, peaceably assemble, keep and bear arms, self incrimination and when they are through only your right to life will remain in tact.
    With even the U.S. military services regarded as a threat to this consolidation of power, who will police and supress conservative attempts to retain or excercise constitutional rights? The answer was proposed in a speach candidate Obama made in Colorado, A “Cicilian Security Force at least as strong as the military”. Obama even went as far as to imply the possibilita of a mandatory service in this organization.
    The U.S. Congress has already taken the first steps to creating this organization by introducing H.R. 1388. Wether this organization remains entirely volentary or incorperates some form of mandatory service it is not the Conservation Corps of Roosevelt. I fear that it will be more like the Hitler Youth Corps that turned Boy Scouts into government agents reporting their parents for opposition to a totalitarian government.

    What is happening in The United Stated is nothing new. The same has happened in most countries that have been overtaken by the world Communist cause. The relaxation of hostilities of outside enemies and the incorporation of enemy status to those internally that will not bend to the will of the reining regime. It has happened on one scale or another in Russia, China, Angola, Rhodesia, Viet-Nam and Cambodia just to name a few.
    What we are witnessing is the prelude to a Soviet style pogrom, where those who do not follow the national program will be ostracized from our society. There will be no tolerance for free thought or any thought that does not center on the communist theme. People will be stripped of their ability to provide for themselves and their family and relieved of all the rights given to us by the constitution.

    It is said that the new Communist world leadership has resided in the U.S. Congress since the 2006 election cycle. Be absolutely aware that the Democrat Party of Thomas Jefferson is no more! It now goes by the name of the Democratic Party. Some seem to think that this is a slip of the tongue or a modernization of the Colonial name, nothing could be less true. There has been a systematic indoctrination of the people of the United States to assume that the Democrat Party of Jefferson is the modern Democratic Party. This obfuscation was necessary. One could not outwardly start a Communist Party in the mid 70’s/80’s and hope to succeed. Stealth was needed to retain the Elderly Democrat base and the centrist middle (whatever that means) . It was also a priority to subvert the process that allows mainstream candidates top billing on the ballet. Look at the difficulty that Ross Perot encountered or in today’s politics the Green Party encounters. This Democratic Party has already demonized Jefferson, ostracized Zell Miller and Joe Lieberman and removed those that do not believe in the communist cause.

    We are now the target! As a Veteran and an American Legion member I find an announcement such as this by the leader of an intelligence group such as the Department of Homeland Security an affront to every member past and present of our military. If this were a Republican Administration there would be calls from Congress to replace this department head. Since this is a key member of the “Obama Team” this will not happen things will get worse. At least one thing is obvious to all good Americans, now know where the terrorists are, in the House of Representatives, the Senate and the White House!

    Freedom or Socialism? Will County Self Governance or Cook County Corruption!

      Your statement was well written and well thought out, very true and very much appreciated, i am only 24, i have seen this indoctrination happening since i was a child, at the time i did not know what it was, now i look back, and i remember being taught that tolerance and acceptance of other cultures is whats best for america, now i realize by acceptance and tolerance of different cultures, they mean accepting the communist culture into american culture, well in my convictions i believe there should be only 1 True culture in america, the american culture, it is no problem to have small cultures inside of the american culture, until they start pushing a political agenda, which is exactly what the radical left has done.

    I find that labeling returning troops terrist is very troubling. Did the government stop looking for threats outside of the country? These men and women are fighting to keep our country safe and this is the thanks they get. The real message here is not to even sign up for the military. If you get called overseas you become a terrorist when you come back home. And just because a person is antiabortion does not make that person a terrorist either. It is the actions of the individual that determine behavior, and not every person that dissapproves of abortion will go to extremes. If our country thinks of our troops as terrorists, why fight for it?

      I did fight for this country , but that time has ended. I do not approve of my government any longer, and seeing the world has opened my eyes to limitless corruption and greed. My term of service ends this month and i will not look back for anything. This country classifies me for a threat for a good reason , I am disgruntled for the treatment of our troops and for the masses. our rights are bieng stripped away one by one. especially the most important… the second ammendment….without this….there is no freedom…OF ANY TYPE. this ammendment is the only thing stopping the government from doing whatever they please, for it is not the government that the people should be afraid of (yet we are) but it is the PEOPLE that the government should be afraid of and adhere to our wishes. for isnt that what this country was supposed to be in the first place? a democracy???? im still waiting for it….

    Well I for one will never again do anything for the United States military or this regime we call our government again. I served twice, in two branches, in two wars. Now I am a terrorist?!? I don’t have exact statistics on hand but I would have to say there is a great number of these supposed terrorists all over the country. I would even say in the hundreds of thousands if not nearly a million. Not counting the ones that are not veterans per say and are still active duty at this time. Coming from different age groups, levels of society, and capabilities. I think it very ignorant for them to label, belittle, and insult the very people that guard their pathetic paper pushing lives. There are veterans everywhere, police, teachers, guards, political leaders, you name it, somewhere there are one or more veterans doing it or a part of it. By this they are even calling your grandfathers, and great grandfathers domestic terrorists. Men and women who fought in Vietnam, Korea, Bosnia, Somalia, South America, Iraq, Kuwait to name a few. And yes we fought in South America and Somalia in little know wars that the American people were for the most part spared from having to know to great detail. Spanning from World War II to present day. This means that all of those still serving today wether it be in one of the branches or the national guard, or in the ready reserves are all terrorists as well? This is the kind of political action that makes me want to take up citizenship in another nation to be honest. Taking from the words of Obama’s wife. For the first time in my adult life I am NOT proud of this country.

      Wow, check it out. Ex NAvy Pilot changed his screen name again. Its not our government. This is a nation controlled by the people. The people have willfully given up their powers. The people have become robots buying whatever the media tells them to, at ridiculous prices. The people decided to spend and buy things they can’t afford. The people are playing into what the government is doing. I don’t like when my rights are violated, but at this point, putting me on their watch list is a badge of honor. I like the idea that the government sees the people as sheep, and vets as a serious threat. I am only a threat to those who deserve it. So this is an admission that they are doing something wrong. The oath stated to “… defend the constitution from all threats, foreign and domestic.” Domestic includes the people, the government, everybody, and I wasnt worried about vets doing something, but if they are, then they must know something I dont. Being a vet compels you to be prepared at all times. Not for anything specific, simply be prepared. Im not a terrorist. I carry a gun, and have never used it within the US. There is nothing to fear unless you are doing something that may warrant it. Its sorta like criminals putting cops on a watch list, because they are the only real threat to their careers and freedom.

So, I could see how our present government could see us as a threat. We are a big stumbling block between them and the totalitarianism that they wish to acheive. But, as long as our government fears us, we will maintain liberty. If the day ever comes that the government starts trying to round up and lock up veterans, they’ll have “awakened a sleeping giant” as Admiral Yamamoto once said. Paul Revere made his famous ride in 1775 to make sure that our stash of arms weren’t siezed by the british. We didn’t let it happen then, and we won’t let it happen now. Keep the faith, Brother, a lot of gun-owning, freedom-loving Veterans are standing beside you.

    We serve our country because it is our country. The politicians are not the reason we do this. We serve to preserve our way of life so that we can hand down to our children and grand children the freedoms and privileges we had.
    As veterans we have sworn to uphold and defend the constitution of the United States of America from all enemies both foreign and domestic at all costs. I think that sometimes we forget that there are in fact domestic enemies. At this point these enemies hold elected office because not enough true Americans have become involved in the process. We have a Secretary of State and President that blame our way of life for others problems. We have a first lady who has had no trust in the American way. We have elected representatives that have broken the two party system down in order to subjugate the people of our great country to serve the will of other countries. These people my friends are Traitors and should be dealt with severely once we have regained our rightful place of leadership and the rule of law has been restored!

    I myself am a veteran, having served with the USMC in Viet Nam. I suppose now that I, too, am a terrorist. I have since become an educated medical professional. It saddens me greatly that this country I love is in decline. The American people are very busy making a living and trying to partake of the American dream of freedom, dignity, peace, and the pursuit of happiness. So busy that there are those who would abuse these freedoms to conspire to enslave the population by stripping them of their right to pursue these dreams while we are too busy to notice. Make no mistake that this country is in serious trouble. The principles of true Democracy are being dismantled slowly but surely. At some point I cannot help but believe that there will be blood-shed, and lots of it. There are tyrants at the gate. And they are liberal-thinking socialists. They are not difficult to identify. (and by the way, socialism is a prelude to communism) At some point I imagine a revolution of sorts, and it will not be a peaceful demonstration. May God Bless and Protect America! srh

    I too serve. i am in the National Guard and came back not to long ago. i lost many friends and lost the person i once was. i didnt join the military because i wanted to become a terrorist. i joined to do what those before me have done before. Protect our Country and its well being. Screw those in the White House. i joined for America not for them. and i will continue serving America. NOT THEM….even though what they dictate i may have to follow but i will. I just wonder since i guess now that he labeled me a terrorist is Obama going to kick me out of the military or does he want me to continue to serve in the military? If i am a terrorist then i ask Obama to deal with me and get rid of me.

    i hv served this great nation for over 10 years. i have been to korea twice and iraq 3 times, and this is the thanks i get for serving my country loyaly. there are terrorist in the united states and the DHS know exactly were they are, but they would rather put returning vets on the terrorist watch list. this is just a slap in the face for all my blood sweat and tears i left in the big sandbox. if this is how i am gonna be treated next time the polititions can go over there.

    Yes, I am a U.S. VETERAN USMC and I am apauled that people like myself and my father who was in vietnam are now being labeled as “TERRORISTS.” So, I guess the reasons for me doing the right thing and serving my country and the many before me and the many to follow will have the same title “TERRORIST” that all of us have earned by doing the right thing. Ok, so be it. But guess what, I will continue to fight for whats right because I took an oath in 1994 to defend this country against all enemies… “FOREIGN and DOMESTIC and thats what I intend to do as long as it will keep my family safe from the people who are trying to turn this country into a communist nation.     I served in Baghdad in combat arms. I’ve seen my share of bad things. To come home and hear this is what they think of us now just leaves a bad feeling. I don’t regret my service but rather regret who it was for. This should be a burning example of how far our government is willing to go. I love this country but our leadership needs to go.

    “WASHINGTON, Jan 13, 2010 (IPS) – Suicides among United States military veterans ballooned by 26 percent from 2005 to 2007, according to new statistics released by the Veterans Affairs (VA) department.

    “Of the more than 30,000 suicides in this country each year, fully 20 percent of them are acts by veterans,” said VA Secretary Eric Shinseki at a VA-sponsored suicide prevention conference on Monday. “That means on average 18 veterans commit suicide each day. Five of those veterans are under our care at VA.”

    The VA estimated that in 2005, the suicide rate per 100,000 veterans among men ages 18-29 was 44.99, but jumped to 56.77 in 2007.

    A Rand Corporation report last year found that as many as 20 percent of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans exhibited symptoms of PTSD or depression. ”

    From the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans:

    “The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) states the nation’s homeless veterans are predominantly male, with roughly five percent being female. The majority of them are single; come from urban areas; and suffer from mental illness, alcohol and/or substance abuse, or co-occurring disorders. About one-third of the adult homeless population are veterans.

    America’s homeless veterans have served in World War II, the Korean War, Cold War, Vietnam War, Grenada, Panama, Lebanon, Afghanistan and Iraq (OEF/OIF), and the military’s anti-drug cultivation efforts in South America. Nearly half of homeless veterans served during the Vietnam era. Two-thirds served our country for at least three years, and one-third were stationed in a war zone.

    Roughly 56 percent of all homeless veterans are African American or Hispanic, despite only accounting for 12.8 percent and 15.4 percent of the U.S. population respectively.

    About 1.5 million other veterans, meanwhile, are considered at-risk of homelessness due to poverty, lack of support networks, and dismal living conditions in overcrowded or substandard housing.

    How many homeless veterans are there?

    Although flawless counts are impossible to come by – the transient nature of homeless populations presents a major difficulty – VA estimates that 107,000 veterans are homeless on any given night. Over the course of a year, approximately twice that many experience homelessness. Only eight percent of the general population can claim veteran status, but nearly one-fifth of the homeless population are veterans.

    Let us face it. There is a cost to war that our troops pay after they leave the battlefield. As a result, when they come home, some ARE vulenable to being used by terrorist groups. That is not to say that all are. Again, SOME, through no fault of their own, are suffering and desperately in need of help. Once again, that is not to say that ALL Are. If you read the report critically, you will undertand that if we don’t give those who need it help, then they MAY become a threat. That is not to say that they WILL. These are plain and simple truths. To think otherwise is to look at the world through rose colored glasses.

    If there shame to be felt by anyone as a result of this report, it is us who should be ashamed.
    The fact is we are not taking care of our veterans after they’ve put themselves in harm’s way for us.

    I am appalled that our military who have fought for this nation are being labeled as terrorists! But as noted by someone in an earlier post, out American soldiers are the biggest threat to those who want to destroy the Constitution and this great nation. I just want any military personnel, past, present and future to know that you have the people behind you. We appreciate your sacrifice and label or no label, the government better figure out that WE THE PEOPLE will NOT stand by and let them destroy this country! WE PATRIOTS KNOW WHAT SHE WAS FOUNDED ON AND WHAT SHE STANDS FOR and those who don’t get it can GET OUT!

    PLEASE HELP. On May 23, 2011 was the U.S. Supreme, Court Brown v. Plata (09-1233) decision that crowded prisons are in violation of the U.S. Constitution’s Eighth Amendment no cruel and unusual punishments. In 2011, still not Eighth Amendment addressed are the “military research” “experiments that were designed to harm” as documented by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and U.S. Senate.[2 & 3] The U.S. Supreme Court’s 1950 Feres Doctrine [8] was used to ignore the Eight Amendment in the U.S. Supreme Court’s Stanley case [6]. It was abandoned and the “to harm” experiment was classified as an “incident to service”! These Department of Defense (DOD) experiments were conducted on “hundreds of thousands” [2], under the ongoing secrecy cover of our ‘national interests’, e.g., WWII, Cold War, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War, Iraq and Afghanistan. Shouldn’t U.S. Service Personnel and Veterans get back those Constitutional Amendment 8 Rights that they die for and convicted rapists and murderers keep? Please hold your members in the U.S. Congress accountable!

    The 2002 U.S. Senate Hearing on the Feres Doctrine [8] is 127 pages of 19 Testimonials and Submissions for the Record that ignored the previously documented: 1. Fact that convicted rapists and murderers receive U.S. Constitutional Amendment 8 experimentation protection [4] that U.S. Service Personnel DO NOT!! 2. GAO [2] and U.S. Senate [3] 1994 Reports that recorded “hundreds of thousands” of in-service personnel injured by non-consensual, experiments. The Senate 1994 Report’s noted withheld needed for treatment but experiment identifying evidence [2] and the 1994 Court of Veterans Appeals (COVA) related “may not review” [5] were overlooked. 3. The U.S. Supreme Courts 1987 STANLEY case was a Feres Doctrine based approval of a 1958 injurious non-consensual, military experiment.[6] Disobeyed was the 1953 DOD order [7] and for military personnel lost was the U.S. Constitution, Amendment 8 protection given to U.S. Prisoners [4]! 4. Not 2002 recognized was that many experiments were in direct disobedience of the DOD Secretary’s 1953 NO non-consensual experiments.[7]

    OVERSIGHTS: Starting on page 64 of the 2002 Senate Hearing PDF version, [1] the UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE stated that in the 1950 U.S. Supreme Court’s Feres Doctrine decision [8], “The Court relied upon three principal reasons in coming to its decision: (1) The existence and availability of a separate, uniform, comprehensive, no-fault compensation scheme for injured military personnel;….” Answering this issue are the millions of service records that were destroyed in a 1973 National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) fire. Followed by Congress’s 1974 Privacy Act that censored experiment verifying witnesses from any surviving and future records and the withheld experimentation evidence of the 1994 U.S. Senate Report.[2] The Report noted, “The Feres Doctrine should not be applied for military personnel who are harmed by inappropriate human experimentation when informed consent has not been given.” Then, “During the last 50 years, hundreds of thousands of military personnel” were subjected to “experiments that were designed to harm”, e.g., their reported biological and chemical agents, radiation exposure, hallucinogenic and investigational drugs, experimental vaccines and behavior modification projects. Overlooked is the “Basic Rights of Prisoners.” with its “Nonconsensual experimentation is illegal”![4] In 2011 still ignored is this and the Senate Report’s past and present, “III. Findings and conclusions”, “K. DOD and DVA have repeatedly failed to provide information and medical followup to those who participate in military research…” and “N. Participation in military research is rarely included in military medical records, making it impossible to support a veteran’s claim for service-connected disabilities from military research.”, i.e., the withheld needed for treatment but “experiments that were designed to harm” evidence. In 1994 COVA’s Chief Judge stated the related evidence restricting, “The court may not review the schedule of ratings for disabilities or the policies underlying the schedule.”[5] Based on the Senate’s, “the last 50 years” back to 1944, doesn’t the now 67 years of “underlying” policy mean the continuing use of deceived U.S. Service Personnel as guinea pigs in deliberate injury experiments?

    In the “three principal reasons” continuation, the Dept. of Justice reported the Supreme Court’s, “….(2) The effect upon military order, discipline, and effectiveness if service member were permitted to sue the government or each other; and, (3) The distinctly federal relationship between the government and members of its armed services, and the corresponding unfairness of permitting service-connected claims to be determined by nonuniform law.” [1], i.e., the “unfairness” of applying the U.S. Constitution’s Bill of Rights, Amendment 8 to U.S. Citizens and Prisoners but NOT to U.S. Service Personnel?

    U.S. PRISONERS PROTECTED OVERSIGHT: In 1992 the U.S. Senate signed the United Nation, International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). with its “.. Article 7 – Freedom from Torture, or Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.” It gives convicted U.S. rapists and murderers protection from experiments by the U.S. Constitution’s Bill of Rights, Amendment 8. Under, “Basic Rights of Prisoners.” is, “Written policy and practice prohibit the use of inmates for medical…experiments.” and “Nonconsensual experimentation is illegal”! Nineteen (19) times cited is the U.S. Constitution plus its 8th Amendment’s no cruel and unusual punishment.[4]

    U.S. CONSTITUTIONAL PROTECTION? Overlooked by many in Congress is their Oath of Office to defend the U.S. Constitution, their “Pledge of Allegiance” “with liberty and justice for all” checks and balances function, their U.S. Constitution 8th Amendment protection of convicted rapists and murderers (but NOT U.S. Service Personnel) with the U.S. Supreme Court’s ignored, carved in stone over its entrance, “EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER LAW”!

    In 2011 shouldn’t U.S. Service Personnel have the same U.S. Constitutional Rights that rapists and murderers keep?

      As a Veteran and while I feel the Government shouldn’t experiment on members of the Armed Forces and I do think that the care given to members and Veterans by the VA are lacking compared to the care given to members of Congress and the Administration, free of charge for the latter I must add. Your argument is fundamentally flawed. The 8th Amendment pertains to those detained, found liable in front of a Grand Jury and convicted and sentenced by a jury of their piers. Members of the Armed Services are not criminals and therefore not part of the group mentioned. Furthermore when an individual signs an enlistment or takes a commission they effectively give up their Constitutional rights and submit to UCMJ. Once again our country has committed grievous crimes against our Veterans and active members with the idea of advancing our abilities in warfare. This must be dealt with.
      In my mind there are only two classes of individuals we as a country owe anything to and that is, our elderly, those that brought us into this great country are owed comfort and security in their old age.Lastly our Veterans, Who have kept us here in Freedom, to them we owe a debt that can never be repaid. All we owe to any other group is an environment where one can excel. Unfortunately our Government has failed miserably in all three cases!

      I enlisted in the Army in 1974. When processing into a unit in Germany I was asked if I was willing to let the military experiment on me, I signed a form and forgot about it until three years later. When out-processing I saw them pull up a pink file folder with my medical records. I asked why I had a pink file. The clerk said, “Did you sign a form allowing experiments on you…”

      I also was a company clerk responsible for regulations (Top Secret). In 1976 I was replacing a regulation in our library and it concerned the overview of studies conducted on servicemen. The change was in the requirement to inform the subject that they were involved in an experiment.

      I have asked for my records from any experiments, pink files/medical records. Nada.

    First of all, why is it that no matter what the topic is — in this case our government equating our combat veterans as being a terrorist threat to our nation — it’s almost always twisted into a religious argument??? Let’s leave religion out of this and keep the focus on its intent — OUR COMBAT VETERANS!!!

    I am lucky enough to be with an amazing Marine who is a decorated combat veteran who served 5 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan (that would be over 4 years). I can’t think of any one of our vets that would choose to team up with the very people they were fighting against over there, esp after what they saw these people do to their brothers and sisters in combat. For Homeland Security to suggest otherwise is outrageous, offensive, deplorable and a huge smacked in the face to all of our vets. If I told this to my fiance, he’d probably vomit that the government actually thinks he’d be capable of teaming up with the very terrorists from whom he was helping to protect us.

    Now, having said that, if our Government *STILL* really does have this concern — well then maybe we should do a better job of taking care of our vets, helping them reintegrate, getting them the medical treatment they need and were promised, and not just shafting them and tossing them aside like they’re disposable. That’s when you’re in danger of people who become disenfranchised and are susceptible to the radical ideals of extremists. People should be made aware of how our vets are being treated, how they are being denied benefits promised to them, how we keep cutting VA budgets while spending $30 million an HOUR on wars that have led us nowhere in 10+ years.

    They trained me to kill, and refused to re-integrate me into society. All I asked for was enough money to survive and a little respect for the pain I endure daily. The VA makes each veteran fight their own private war just to get any kind of benefits. It’s not right.

    I’m not a psychologist, but I think it’s just common sense that if you take someone like a veteran, who has risked their life for their country, and brand them as a possible terrorist threat to the country they are fighting for, that something in the human brain might just get so discombobulated that a switch might operate that would cause that veteran to, in fact, become a terrorist threat. The DHS is run by people who are truly mentally ill when it comes to understanding what America is all about. How ironic that they would target veterans and force them to undergo psychiatric evaluations, when it’s the people running the program who are the ones in need of help.

    I was in the US Army for 8 years as an Infantryman. I spent almost 40 months in total in Iraq. I killed men and watched friends die. And after suffering through all that, these bastards have the gall to call me a terrorist?? Sorry bastards. In their lust for power, they forgot one thing: We didn’t go to war for them. We didnt say ‘support and defend the government,’ we said ‘support and defend the constitution of the United States.’ And we also swore to defend the country against ALL enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC. Seems to me I should be accusing the Government itself of domestic terrorism. And guess what: I dont care if the cops come and get me. I hope they DO. Itll show that theyre trying to kill off our rights. If I ever see the person responsible for writing that, Ill spit in their damn face.

      You must have experienced and seen things that no one should have to see. Thank you for your service, yes you are correct, you support and defend the Constitution.To send soldiers to foreign countries for something other than protecting the American people is what is wrong. IE, oil or to stick our nose in where it is not wanted! It seems that lately things have gotten out of hand with our administration and what should be happening is not. We have the chance to change that come November. Years ago, the service members were an honored group of people, I am not sure when this changed or for what reason, but it has. We have been told by the media what our government wants us to think and feel and there are those that believe them. The media has fallen in line with what they are told to do. Please don’t think that the majority of Americans feel returning veterans are terrorists, this is fabricated by the powers that be.

    As inconceivable as it may be for some to fathom, as both a former soldier and a student of counterterrorism studies, I postulate that the possibility of soldiers being recruited by extremist organizations is not outlandish. The cases Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols highlight these concerns. Additionally, Wade Michael Page and Major Nidal Malik Hassan also fall into this group.     Who is the idiot that wrote this and said returning veterans are potential terrorists? Apparently this assh*le has never served in our Armed Forces. When the draft ended in 1972/73 the U.S. military went to an all VOLUNTEER force. No one was forced to serve they joined on their own free will. Between active duty and National Guard I served faithfully and loyally to this nation for 31 years. I never questioned my Commander-in-Chief on policy but for our elected officials to say we “pay our service members too much, their benefits should be reduced and the retirement system should be changed to reflect the way civilian companies operate. This is trying to privatize the military without being union members, political correctness can not operate in the military. Basic Combat Training is designed to stress individuals and make them better. No more Drill Instructors yelling in you face because you may stress someone out. What the hell do you think happens in combat!!!! Our elected officials need to wake up and smell the coffee. Let the Senate and House pay more for health care. Let them work for 20 years before they are “entitled to 50% of their pay. Let them and their staff repay student loans. Let them take pay cuts or freeze their pay raises. You want an all VOLUNTEER force then you need to have incentives to draw good qualified individuals to serve and defend our nation. America’s young are coming home have problems reintegrating due to the 99% who have not served not giving a damn. I have been out of work since my last deployment and have exhausted all my unemployment benefits and have been told I am either over qualified for a job, not qualified or they want someone with a little more background for the job. My military experience is on my resume and I.m not taking it off. So POLITICIANS get off your fat, lazy,lying asses and put this country back on track the right way.

    If i’m reading this article correctly the government is either locking up or putting vets in mental institutions. I truly believe this to be the case. Obama and his cronies do NOT want a bunch of armed, dedicated combat ready people to put a gun up his nose and force him to obey the constitution. Recent articles from experts have pronounced obama as a narcissistic bi polar personality. I hope the government can find a single volunteer for the next battles. I was wounded 3 times, once nearly fatally, only to have this C**NT call me a potential terrorist threat?
