"It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration,”

Great, so all of us who don't want our country to go down the tubes are terrorists?
Very scary.
I am opposed to illegal immigration. They are living off my money they are living off of my tax dollars . They live here for free. They are leaches, they make money and send it back home, not back into our economy.
Our economy isn't going to be fixed by spending money, but saving it. Our Government needs to look at these illegal immigrants and look at them as those killing our economy.

Since when do we have to follow "orders" from the Government? The government is here to enforce laws, yes. But not to tell us how to live our lives.

Oh, I saw the word Marxism in there somewhere:)
During the cold war, we as Americans strived to keep communism out of our country and OUR government. Guess what, it's sneaked in through the back door. Not through Obama, no, he'll juat add to what's already there.

Look at Marx's 10 (or whatever number it was) Points of Communism. We meet just about every one of them.

We are not ANTI government, and shouldn't be anti-taxes. We want a smaller government that uses our money for our good, in the ways we want it used.

We need to look at history,
Just before the "Great Depression" the US was absolutely THRIVING. The president during that time PHYSICALLY made the government smaller (like selling Gov land and old buildings even).
Guess what happened when the new administration came in and instantly started making government bigger - we started an economic decline and (among other things) led to the great depression.

We need to look at the current world around us.
National "free" healthcare has not really worked in ANY other country. It's not free. Sure, you may get a tooth pulled for free. But you have to wait 5 months and in the meantime pay your quaint 50% income tax.

ADD ME (an 18 year old kid in HS) TO THE LIST!!!! :)

The slippery slope is greased with pork residue. More social workers are on the way.
The PC thought police will soon be arresting you for a hate crime if it is thought by someone that you meant something even if you did not.
The mere expression of an opinion could become illegal. If your opinion irks a group considered pests such as rats or mosquitos or terrorists, you may be accused of a hate crime inciting violence, and psycho duress to the victimized!
Your expressed opinion could result in massive damage claims for the aggreived complaintents, and Jay, even Iceland is not an option these days is it?
Welcome to BIZARRO WORLD Jay,
and bumper up Welcome to my Nightmare; by Alice Cooper.
I talked with you years ago about this, and as an intelligent person, I thought you as an intelligent guy could be alerted to the problems of our social programming school systems, and the future implications of the new standards of dumbness ensuring the arrival to where we are.
But we are here, are we not? And with my black sense of humor ( no relationship to race reference ) Wait, there is more, To mimic the news
whores, just wait till you hear this. You just have to stay tuned.

I certainly wish that more people thought this way. Too many people (on both sides) are saying "it's got to be this way and that's final."

I hope so! I don't know why he chose my post but I am glad. His linking here sent quite a bit of traffic here over the last three days.
I am hosted by wordpress. Every day wordpress has a top 100 posts of the day list. Out of the hundreds of thousands of posts that were posted on wordpress over that time this one was in the top 100 three days in a row. 73, 77, and 78. Severin's link had much to do with that but it wasn't just that, this is just a hot topic. I have mad the top post list twice before, but just barely and not like this.
I was thinking about commenting on his blog and kissing his ass a little, maybe he will use me again that way. :)
If I had know that this post would have been this popular I would have done more than just a quick post.

Me too! Me too! Hey S., that is totally awesome, cool, exciting and excellent about Severin linking to your post. Maybe it will happen more often, now?! I've thought for a while, now that you should get more, attention, exposure, whatever you want to call it.

If I may make a suggestion...The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution should be required reading for anyone and everyone. These are not difficult documents to understand. At least put forth a little effort to comprehend why our country exists. If you voted for Obama, congratulations. If you voted for McCain, you pretty much got him, anyway. My problem (and I vote in elections at all levels) is that these 2 gentlemen were deemed the best choice by politicians, not the people. We fight each other as mortal enemies, each taking potshots at the other's supposed lack of intelligence. What are we doing? We chose between 2 candidates presented. We didn't hold either to account for their records in "public service," we allowed the media do our jobs poorly, or not at all, and we allowed the 2 parties to present their choices for our diversion. Stop yelling at each other, please. Take a look in the mirror, challenge yourself to do better, do more, read more, act more responsibly now, in the future, at the voting booth, in your community. Read the constitution. Believe me, you will know more than your (our) "leaders." Stop being cannon fodder for the two parties. In my humble estimation, we are dangerously close to fascism. We yell at each other, point fingers, defend the indefensible on behalf of leaders who don't care if we exist in the first place, only need us for what we can give, or they can take, and whose sole purpose has been to gain more power. Save a few notable exceptions, they think we exist for them. The constitution tells you what leadership is, who it serves, and why. Any action taken by any leader, no matter the political affiliation du jour, outside those parameters, is FACIST. President Obama has just joined the ranks of those who have paved the way for him to continue the policies of diversion, division, and the end of a sovereign nation. Stop making this personal to him. He's just marching to the same tune we have long since tuned out, because we are too busy to devote any time to intellectual honesty. No one commenting here has ANY power over our lives. Time to shift our focus to those who do, and can't wait to gain more.

Well excuse me for wanting to use facts and logic rather than emotion to make my arguments. The point that I was addressing was the claim that only the Obama voters were a bunch of uneducated idiots. The facts do not support the argument. Now, I will say that Obama did a better job of mobilizing his "3L" supporters than McCain did in mobilizing his "3L" supporters.

Let me point out something: Obama won Indiana. Indiana is a republican/conservative stronghold. Just the fact that it was even a battleground surprised me but for him to actually win it should say something. In my microcosm (sorry, that's a big word), I am seeing it was a lack of support for what the republicans were offering. This is a point that seems to be escaping the republican leadership.

Dude, you are assuming way too much to think that I was saying the justice department is a branch of government. The president does more than just sends troops to war and signs/vetoes legislation. The president's job is to enforce federal laws which is where the justice department, DHS, CIA, FBI, NSA, and so on come into play.

I did make a mistake in my comment that you quoted. When I said "rationalizing Obama supporters", I should have said "rationalizing Obama voters." Not everybody that voted for him actually supported him.
