Democrats politicize Ted Kennedy’s death to pass healthcare reform
Upon learning of the death of Senator Ted Kennedy Nancy Pelosi’s thoughts immediately turned into political spin.
Ted Kennedy’s dream of quality health care for all Americans will be made real this year because of his leadership and his inspiration
I find this to be in extremely bad taste. She went on to talk about Senator Kennedy and how he will be missed by family, friends, and Americans alike, which was the response that she should have given. But I just can’t get past the fact that on the day the senator died she felt it was necessary to use his death for political gain.
It came as no surprise to me that Democrats would use the death of Ted Kennedy to try to revamp their floundering healthcare reform bill but I never thought that anyone would be so callous, heartless, and insensitive as Nancy Pelosi and start spinning his death for political gain on the very day that his death was announced.
And she is not alone, since I began this post several other Democrats have come out calling for healthcare reform saying that America should do it for Teddy.
I was originally going to hold off on posting this until tomorrow because I didn’t feel it was appropriate to post it on the day that he died, but seeing how Democrats don’t have a problem using his death for their political gain I no longer have any apprehensions about posting my response today. (I have nothing good to say about Ted Kennedy the senator and more importantly; Ted Kennedy the man so I intended to remain quiet today but the politicization of his death by the people who call themselves his friends has made it impossible for me to wait.)
Since Nancy Pelosi has come out with a do it for Teddy attitude others have followed suit.
You’ve heard of ‘win one for the Gipper’? There is going to be an atmosphere of ‘win one for Teddy,'” Ralph G. Neas, the CEO of the liberal National Coalition on Health Care
Al Gore took time away from saving the planet to say the following:
Ted would want nothing more than for his colleagues to continue his life’s work and to make real his dream of quality health care for all Americans
Former grand wizard of the KKK and current absent United States Senator Robert Byrd had the following to say:
In his honor and as a tribute to his commitment to his ideals, let us stop the shouting and name calling and have a civilized debate on health care reform which I hope, when legislation has been signed into law, will bear his name for his commitment to insuring the health of every American
I find all of this to be in bad taste, these people could not even wait one day to begin using the senator’s death as a reason to pass healthcare reform. They are putting their agenda above the family and the friends of the fallen senator. I find it disgraceful. As I said earlier, it was only a matter of time before the Democrats rallied around Ted Kennedy’s death to try to revive the troubled healthcare reform bill but I never expected that they would not even have the common courtesy to at least wait one day. While they should be in mourning of the senator and the man they have chosen to turn this into a political debate.
This shows me that these people care more about Ted Kennedy’s agenda than they did about him. They can try to spin the healthcare debate into a do it for Teddy argument if they want to, (not that that is a legitimate reason to pass this bill, the bill should pass or fail based on its merits alone), but the fact that they couldn’t wait until after the services to start their political spin shows me just how self-centered and out of touch they are not only with the American people but also with what should have been a person’s natural reaction to the death of a man that they supposedly cared for. They put politics above people, there is no way that this can be defended as being in any way proper or warranted.

DO IT FOR TEDDY!!
Well, here’s a bit of common sense for ALL the idiot Dems and Libbers that are screaming it…
Teddy is DEAD… He doesn’t care… And the Dems that want this FOR TEDDY are moonbats…

I find it hard to believe that anyone would change their vote to please Kennedy. It just doesn’t make sense and it is probably the worst reason that somebody could change their vote. His death does not make this a better bill, if you were against it before you should be now.

Oh CRAP. I just heard they are going to change the interim appt. rule back so Deval can put someone in, and the list is very scary. I’m going to start stuffing the mattress immediately. And what’s the phone # for Lichtenstein?

They are going to try to do this but it is so transparent that I don’t believe they will be able to get away with it, but you never know.

I would not bet against it, I mean, we ARE talking Taxachusetts here. When it comes to his replacement, they may very well “do it for Teddy.”
With health care, I don’t think Kennedy’s death will make a bit of difference. The sleeping giant has awakened and the pols will either listen or they won’t. Either way a boatload of them will be gone come 2010.

I don’t think his death will make a difference in the long run either. His death will not influence the voters but this shows us how desperate the Democrats have become on this legislation.

This whole thing reminds me of what Joe Jackson did at Michael Jackson’s funeral. Trying to self promote at the expense of another’s memory is very psychotic and arrogant, which is what Pelosi and the rest these “Jackasses” are.

And politicize it, they did!

Nearly everyone who got up and spoke, promoted the “health care” agenda.
I am sure Ted even told them to go for it. Go for it they did!
He was not that loved by the entire country.
Too many of us remember controversy and actually resent the elitist who feel it is their birthright to dictate this country.
Unfortunately, many follow in his footsteps.
We need to be demanding answers to our questions that the white house has been avoiding or dismissing.

People up here in the Northeast may feel that Kennedy was loved around the country because they loved him but that is not the case. Many Americans were not fond of Ted Kennedy, this will not help to pass healthcare but is shows us how desperate they are becoming.

Compare the life of the “champion of liberalism” (Teddy) to the life of the “champion of conservatism” (Ronald Reagan).
It’s no contest.
And while Reagan was fighting Communists, Teddy Kennedy was trying to work with them.
America is waking up.

I sure wish folks with constitutional law and history would ban together and get these maniacs out of the white house!
What about RICO? Many of the thugs advising o have c omitted crimes. They weren’t even vetted. Most of them couldn’t be. Which makes me believe they are going to be restructuring the CIA and FBI.

The communists are our enemies.
Her actions and her words are most definitely giving “aid and comfort” to our communist enemies, and encouraging communism in the U.S.
She herself is a communist, and she’s trying to give her supporters the hint that a lawyer like Fidel Castro is now in the White House.
These people like to erroneously state that section 1 of the 14th Amendment makes Barack Obama a “natural born citizen” of the U.S. It does not. That’s one issue, but here’s another:
Have these people ever read section 3 of that very same 14th Amendment?

Obama created all of thesenew czars because they did not have to go through the confirmation process, they are all thugs and ultra-leftists who would never have made it through the confirmation process. The way Obama filled his cabinet this way is highly suspect.

And so, why aren’t we using the “law” the power of the constitution, to get him and these thugs out?
Nerobama has many times spoken out against “we the people” and the u.s. here in our country and abroad.
Aren’t these crimes against the people?
Those he has surrounded himself with, are self proclaimed enemies of the state.
Excuse my ignronce, please. But what’s wrong with this picture?
I just don’t get it.
I use to wonder, how in the world, hitler was able to annihilate the Jewish people.
Millions of citizens went to their deaths like sheep going to the slaughter.
By the time they realized what was happening, it was too late.
As a woman, my intuition has told me this is our fate, with the agenda of this new government.
Who will the sheep be? Who’s the enemy? Is it a race? Is it conservatives? Christians? Who is the enemy that he feels he has to create “a civilian military power that is more powerful than our military?”
