The Democrats should be looking over the shoulder if this had been 2010 their losses would have been staggering. Obama I feel, will not moderate his agenda even in the face of these losses. Those on the far left or far right seldom moderate in order to gain voter approval, but instead increase their efforts to win the middle to their positions.

I agree, when you look at the fact that Obama carried those two states by large margins in 2008 and he was not able to rally support for the Democrats it shows us that he is weakened.

Personally, I think the Democrats have good reason to be worried. Some of their progressive ideas are not going over so well with the American people and it showed in the elections on Tuesday. If the trend continues into 2010, the Republicans have a chance to gain big.

Naaaa, in the national elections, the dems gained a seat in the House from the N.Y. election and in a California House race, a progressive democrat replaced a moderate democrat. People want change, not the same old crap the Republicans have to offer.
