After censure, Charlie Rangel is being investigated for yet another ethics violation
On the heels of being censured last week for numerous ethics violations, Charlie Rangel is once again under investigation for yet another possible ethics violation. The Federal Election Commission is now investigating a claim that Charlie Rangel illegally used monies that he raised with his National Leadership PAC to fund his defense against the original ethics violations.
It is becoming all too clear that either Charlie Rangel does not give a damn about the rules he is supposed to operate under–feeling that he is above the rules, or he simply does not understand the rules. Either way, I think that it is becoming abundantly clear that Charlie Rangel’s day has come and gone, it is time for him to resign. He is embarrassing himself more and more every day and he would be doing himself–and the country–a favor by leaving the public spotlight once and for all.

Gee, how can one man take SO much punisment? Censure and who knows, maybe another censure? Poor guy, that’s some serious discipline…
The whole notion that Rangel could avoid certain taxes for 17 years and then only be slapped on the wrist is outrageous. Is it any wonder that he doesn’t fear committing more violations?
Can he please, pretty please be made to give up his pension. It is just too sick what we pay for.
Now that is a great point! How can this man be allowed to keep his pension after all that he has been convicted of doing!
I know, Steve, you said impeachment isn’t in the Constitution, but could this people in his district recall him like Californians did when Governor Schwarzenegger was elected?
I did a little digging around and found that there has been a senator impeached, although that was in 1798, so I guess impeachment could be an option. As far as recall goes, that depends on the New York costitution, if they have a recall process than he could be recalled. Not all states have a recall process but California is one of them.
Censure was nothing but a tap-dance. Harlem Charlie should have resigned! Anyone with any self respect would have!
He just doesn’t care, he should have resigned already but he thinks he can get away with anything. (And he did!)
What is the guy now, 80 years old? He’ll be dead before he sees a day in jail.
LOL! I shouldn’t laugh cause that’s really not funny…
Yes it is!!!
I am afraid you are right, but I would love to see him make the perp walk!
Hey, maybe we will do better with the next one up– Maxine Waters! Lets hope it holds off until we get the new congress.
It’s a sad commentary on our political class. The House gave this A-hole a standing ovation. What is that? Serving in the House or the Senate should be considered a civic tour of duty and not a profession. TERM LIMITS!
