Gun used in border patrol agent’s killing was part of “Project Gunrunner”

March 8, 2011

Have you heard of “Project Gunrunner?” If you watch the mainstream media you probably have not. “Operation Gunrunner” was a program run by the ATF in which they sold hundreds of guns to known Mexican criminals and gang members so they could track the weapons back to the gangs. In other words, “Project Gunrunner” was a sting operation.

Last year these guns started showing up at crime scenes–naturally that is what happens when you purposely sell guns to criminals–but then last December the sting went horribly wrong. One of the guns was sold to a criminal who then turned around and killed Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

As of yet it is unclear if the weapon the ATF sold to this criminal was actually the gun used to kill Brian Terry, but two weapons involved in the program were found at the scene so it seems highly likely that is indeed the case. As if it wasn’t bad enough that the rules of engagement called for Brian Terry to be armed with a beanbag gun when the illegals were armed with AK47s, we now have found out that the United States government actually provided the killer with the weapon which most likely killed Brian Terry. How outrageous is it that we knew the criminals had weapons because we sold them to the criminals and yet our Border Patrol Agents still had to carry beanbag guns?!

Between the outrageous rules of engagement and the sting operation which provided weapons to the killers it would seem as if the United States government’s policies and programs were at least a factor in the death of a Border Patrol Agent and Eric Holder has ordered an investigation into “Project Gunrunner.” The White House is not commenting on “Project Gunrunner” and is unwilling to even admit whether Barack Obama knew about this sting operation–an indication to me that he did.

If these reports are true and the guns that were at the scene where Brian Terry was murdered were sold to the criminals by the ATF than someone needs to be held accountable–in addition to the killer himself–because this never should have happened.

Only a lib wouldn’t understand the crime of sending a soldier in harm’s way with his hands tied… what Incompetano is doing on the AZ border is the same thing that beat us in Vietnam.

Why anybody would want to work for the Border Patrol in the current circumstances and restraints is beyond me… if I can’t shoot back hard forget it

They would have you believe that it’s gun owners in Texas, American patriots, that are buying and sending guns to Mexico…

There actually are some straw man purchases taking place, but they are, for the most part, being made by LEGAL American citizens of MEXICAN decent…

There have been some gun shops that have called the ATF to report suspicious purchases and have been told by the ATF that all was well because they were tracking the guns. It is quite evident that not all is well.

You are exactly right, Texas Fred. They have been construing the data on the guns they confiscate already, saying a very high percentage of the guns are coming from America. In fact, it is a very high percentage of the guns they actually track, which is a very small number. They like to leave that little tidbit out of the equation. And now we find out that the ATF is sending guns to the gangs? That is wrong in so many ways, it isn’t even funny, and it makes it even worse to think that one of those guns may have cost the live of Brian Terry.

I agree 100%; the administration is fudging these numbers in order to place the blame for the violence on the gun shop owners instead of where it belongs, with the criminals. And now we have learned that the ATF has been allowing the criminals to buy these guns so they could track them. That sisn’t work out so well, did it?

ATF agents are saying this thing went all the way to the Justice Department. And now Eric the coward is going to investigate? They’re looking to sweep this under the rug as fast as possible. This was Obama and Holder. They should be in jail.

I don’t believe that anything will come of this investigation because, as you said, Holder is going to sweep this under the rug. He did it with the Black Panthers so there is reason to beleive he will do it here also.

“The White House is not commenting on “Project Gunrunner” and is unwilling to even admit whether Barack Obama knew about this sting operation”

They need to get the spin right before they comment. I was wondering why Our “Glorious Leader” and his lap dog media weren’t putting out the “It’s Americans fault we have an Armed Insurrection happening in Mexico” With their favorite rights basher from south of the border El Presidente Calderon!

Viva El Presidente go home and solve your problems without our money. I hate the idea that we send aid to that cesspool of a country and he comes over here and tells us what is wrong here.

The President of Mexico needs to tend to his own rat killing before he comes across the border and starts running his mouth about us.
