Gunrunner: Janet Napolitano grilled by Congressman Gowdy
Janet Napolitano was questioned by Congressman Gowdy on the deadly Operation Fast and Furious scandal. During this exchange Representative Gowdy informed the DHS secretary that Fast and Furious was an OCDETF operation and not simply an ATF operation. He also reminds Janet Napolitano that all OCDETF operations require the approval of the Department of Justice, a fact that she admits is true.
So if Operation Fast and Furious was in fact an OCDETF operation it means that somebody in the “Justice” Department had to know about and approve the deadly operation, yet even while admitting OCDETF operations need “Justice” Department approval she refuses to answer when asked if this means that if Operation Fast and Furious was an OCDETF operation that the “Justice” Department would have had to approve it. (A fact that she admitted to when speaking on general terms.)
She talked herself around in circles and while doing so admitted that she didn’t know what the hell was going on. In my opinion, if this it the truth (and I have my doubts) this is not much better than if she had known what is going on for it shows us that at best the Obama regime has within its ranks a bunch of incapable buffoons who have no idea what the hell the are doing. And that is the best case scenario; the worst case scenario is that someone in the Obama regime is an accessory in Brian Terry’s murder.

I guess that ignorance is bliss in her case. Do we take her at her word? I do not, but The Oversight Committee will have to make that call. She is cool and calm under pressure, isn’t she?
I do not take her at her word and I think that she knew about this all along. I hope the investigation can prove this because I think she purjured herself.
She will be glad to answer the rest of the question in writing because at that moment she didn’t have an answer. Now she will go back and fabricate an answer that she thinks will get her off the hook. She and Holder both are incompetent.
C on F, do you suppose she will have “misspoken”? Or will she have not understood the question? Those are my two best guesses.
She did kind of claim that she misunderstood one of the questions she was asked, perhapd she has laid the groundwork for a future defense.
Yes, she will go and fabricate a story which she thinks will hold water, but I feel as if the Oversight COmmittee realizes thins and will be looking for any discrepancies. I think they have given her enough rope to hang herself.
I hope and pray that all these reviews of NObama’s Czars will not put any of them in jail until AFTER he has lost and LEFT office. I don’t think I would be able to control myself if he were to give any of them a Presidential pardon.
I hope so also. How sad will it be if a border patrol agent is allowed to rot in jail for doing his job while Obama’s criminal czars are allowed to walk the streets free?
Wow Steve. These people are absolutely shameless. The have zero integrity and you can’t believe a word they say. Issa has his work cut out for him. She was more concerned about grandstanding than answering the questions asked to her. We’re in such a sad state.
Shameless is a good way to put it and I would add that they probably all know that this is going to come crashing down on them and are in a bit of a panic mode. It is a sad state indeed.

As much as I would like to say we might get him, I doubt it will go that far. I think that there will be another crisis that comes to play and all of this might/could go by the wayside. You know how when things get too close to him other times, we have something major happen? Well, I think that will be the outcome with this too.
I don’t think we will get him either, but I can dream can’t I?
I have stated in a number of posts that Napolitano is nothing more than an inept political hack given her position for her support in Arizona for Barack Obama’s pres campaign. She is what might probably be best classified as a ‘know nothing.’ Like her boss, she is a script reader. If there is no script in front of her she hasn’t, in my opinion, the ability to be extemporaneous in her responses. The obvious result of course is stuttering nonsensical statements or outright lies.
Her statement last year that “there is no violence on the U.S. side of the border,” (paraphrasing), is one example, (proof positive), of being in the same mold as her boss – a pathological liar. Just my opinion of course….WM
I couldn’t agree more and it is not surprising that Obama would surround himself with this type of person. They are a perfect match for each other.
