Barack Obama halts shale drilling at a cost of 200,000 American jobs

November 18, 2011

Last week the Obama regime stopped the Keystone Pipeline project–a project which would have created thousands of jobs for United States citizens while helping to diminish the United States’ dependency on Middle East oil, two issues which are supposedly close to Barack Obama’s heart–and today the Obama regime announced that it was terminating the lease for Wayne National Forest. This move comes at a cost of the loss of an estimated 200,ooo jobs and ensures that the price of oil will remain static as the United States has cut off a potential new supply of oil. These two moves are being hailed as victories by the environmentalists, but one has to wonder if there was an ulterior motive involved in these decisions.

Why would the president end two programs which would have created hundreds of thousands of jobs while helping to lessen our dependency on Middle East oil at a time when the unemployment rate is so high and average American families are struggling to make ends meet when he claims to be the middle class warrior?

The answer is obvious to me when we look at the bigger picture and factor in the Solyndra, SunPower, LightSquared, Fisker, Tesla, and BrightSource scandals. All of these companies were part of Barack Obama’s “green initiative” project, and all of these companies have ties to major Democrat campaign donors, and all received stimulus money.

Barack Obama has touted green energy as the future of both the economy and as a solution to the United States’ dependency on Middle East oil. But the problem for these companies is the simple fact that the technology isn’t there yet and because of this the companies are not viable or sustainable–hence the need for taxpayer subsidies to keep these companies afloat.

If the United States had more oil available for use it would lessen the demand for Barack Obama’s green energy initiative and naturally this would hurt the Democrat campaign contributors who have their money tied up in the success of this initiative. So Barack Obama has to do whatever he can to make these companies seem more necessary and acceptable to the American people, and by limiting the oil production in the United States he feels it will create a bigger demand for alternative energy and lo and behold, these two moves accomplish this goal; he has done what he felt was necessary to slow down oil availability in an attempt to justify his failed green energy initiative.

Barack Obama did not halt these projects over environmental concerns, and he certainly didn’t make these decisions because he was concerned about the American people. There was only one thing that Barack Obama was concerned about when he shut these operations down and that was protecting the interests of major donors to the Democrat party.

I read this news earlier. It just makes my blood boil. Win will conservatives wake up and understand that the liberals declared war on America in 2008. Hell, maybe it at the beginning of the Clinton administration.

The fact that so many people applaud this as a victory even though it hurts the American people show us that war has indeed been declared on average Americans and it is time for us to stand up and say enough is enough!

Why is this a surprise? Obama is intentionally creating a situation that Saul Alinsky writes as a means to and end – where the successful community organizer not only exploits those feeling disenfranchised but also creates a climate of despair.

That despair is a set up for a megalomaniac, either Barack Obama or a successor, to convince all of those in despair, ie victims, to fall prey to false promises of a ‘socialist’ styled salvation – a dictatorship of the proletariat – which in the end is just another form of societal slavery posing as a remedy for the excesses of capitalist exploitation….WM

It is not a surprise but it is still disheartening to see so many Americans hail this is a victory when all it does is set America back. Barack Obama called the proletariat to arms and OWS began marching in the streets on his orders. OWS is protesting against the bourgeois and we all know how these battle always end. Sadly the OWS crowd are the useful idiots that Stalin talked about and because they do not understand history they don’t even realize it.

Wow! I have heard a few different estimates on the number of potential jobs. What is the media doing? Even Foxnews said only 20,000. How many more “green” energy companies have to go belly up before anything gets better? I saw a report about the 2013 car show, and the reporter said most companies are making gas cars with high MPG. Very few hybrid/electric models. We won’t have any choice but to dig for that shale.

You would have to think that the Obama regime would think twice before lending money to these companies again, but then all he is interested in is passing his agenda and he probably feels it is worth the risk. After all it isn’t his money.

One thing for sure, Obama leaves no doubt where his priorities are at. He opposes exploration and the use of fossil fuels at every opportunity, no matter what the cost to Americans.

All part of the plan to coerce us out of our cars. that is the term the car czar used and Obama is serious about it. It is iinteresting to note that centralizing the transportation system is the sixth plank of the communist manifesto.

Less energy production, fewer jobs, and hundreds of millions wasted on failed “green” tech. Disgusting.

I think there is even a deeper reasoning to these events than just the eventual pay off to Democrat donors (read investors). These leftists that have put their money into these Green Initiatives will eventually corner the energy market if this is promoted above and beyond other sources. As with the eventual Nationalism of health care (approximately 20% of the GNP) there will be an eventual Nationalization of the energy segment (approximately 15% of the GNP) of our country. A much bigger pay off. This will enable the Leftists to siphon off resources previously unimagined for useless social programs. .

Wow, now that is an interesting theory and I think you are on to something here! This is even bigger than just pushing money ino the hands of the campaign donors.

Great post Steve. I believe your analysis is spot on. Everything he states about the evils of the Republicans he is doing himself…putting party and his own reelection over country. It’s disgusting.

John, you are correct! The problem is that no one that has the “ears of the people” will stand up and say what you just did. He knows that we know what he is doing, but as long as the MSM doesn’t report it, he doesn’t care. Doesn’t it amaze you that he can say what he does with a straight face? When I hear him, I almost always say ” you lying piece of sh*t”, outloud, at least I know what he is doing. Will it make a difference? Who knows.

I think it’s more than just political strategy. I mean, sure that plays in. But when it comes to Marxist redistributionism and green-ism, I think our President is a true believer. So it’s a win-win no-brainer decision: shut that bad boy down!

    best to you

There is no doubt that Obama is a Marxist and he believes in the redistribution of wealth by punishing those who are successful, and green is the new red. We need to rid ourselves of this man as soon as possible.

The comment on the car ‘Czar’ saying the green advocates want to get Americans out of their cars is quite telling. What better way to control a population if they don’t have access to non-public transportation.

Should that agenda prove successful, resistance to central authority can be contained in urban areas and the hinterlands can be subdued as needed – sound crazy – maybe. But the real issue for Obama is a legalist form of government. Using the green agenda is only one of a few tricks the grand magician has up his sleeves.

Unfortunately too many Americans are willing to sit back and let this corrupt political system correct itself – Obama’s ascendancy is living proof of that

One thing for certain, Obama’s agenda is ‘transparent,’ he is simply hiding it out in the open hoping we will just stand by and watch….WM

I don’t think it sounds crazy at all, everything that Obama has done has strenghtened the federal government and made more people dependent on the federal govenment for their survival. There is a reason why centralizing the transportation is a plank in the communist manifesto. And that is simply that if the people can only travel to places the federal governement allows them to travel to and a times set by the federal government they can be more easily controlled, and that is what this green movement is all about. Green is the new red.

There’s another angle as well. Canada says if we don’t want their oil, China certainly does. Obama just met with Hu Jin Tao the other day. What did they discuss?

RJ, whatever it was that they discussed, I am pretty sure, it means something bad for us. Is that horrible to have to think that way? I do not, for a moment, think that Obama has our best interests at heart, never did, never will.

One thing for certain – Obama is not to be trusted and neither are those elites like Buffet and Soros who seem to have keys to the kingdom in their pocket.

I would further add that a close analysis of Obama’s actions might prove he is acting in a seditious manor which it goes without saying bodes an ill future for all of us including those stupid enough to worship him.

A final thought: Obama’s actions in total thus far fit this the perfect definition for a fifth column, aided and abetted by media and liberal elites….WM

You’re reality check is in the mail. There isn’t enough oil or alternative energy to save our industrialized way of life. We all are going to have to realize the Earth isn’t a Bon-Bon with a rich creamy center of cheap oil and there isn’t the slightest chance our opinions are ever going to change.

We’ll hold onto our F-350 Super Duties and Wal-Marts until there’s nothing to keep them supplied and going or anything to keep the factories that build them supplied and going for that matter; then we’ll all be really pissed off, grab our guns and American flags, and find someone to blame for what has happened.
