Obamacare: $1 monthly ‘abortion surcharge’ to be included in healthcare exchange plans
The biggest issue that many people had in the debate leading up to the passage of the Obamacare legislation was the fact that most Representatives and Senators who would be voting on the bill didn’t bother to read the legislation they would be voting on. Congressman John Conyer actually asked what good it would do to read the bill because the Congress still wouldn’t know what was in it unless they each hired two lawyers, and Nancy Pelosi famously quipped “we have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it.”
But what went underreported in my opinion was the fact that even if all the Congressmen had read the bill, and had enough lawyers to explain to them what was in the bill, they still wouldn’t know what was going to be in the final bill because the legislation tasked Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius with creating certain Obamacare guidelines AFTER the legislation was signed into law.
This unelected official was given an extraordinary amount of power and it seems as if there is little we can do about it now. We saw the first results of this little known provision a couple of weeks ago with the contraception mandate, and today we are learning about another new guideline which Kathleen Sebelius is preparing to hand down; people who enroll in a healthcare exchange plan will be required to pay a $1 ‘abortion surcharge’ every month on their plans. Talk of a similar surcharge for sexually transmitted disease testing is around the corner too.
We were promised by Barack Obama that no federal money would be used to fund abortions in the Obamacare legislation–he even went so far as to sign and Executive Order banning the federal funding of abortion–and while $1 a month may not be allot of money it is still a broken promise and a betrayal of all those who signed onto the bill after his assurance that no federal money would be used for this purpose.
We all remember Joe Wilson yelling out “you lie” during Barack Obama’s State of the Union Address when Barack Obama promised not to fund abortion, and we all remember the outrage from the left at Joe Wilson for his breach of protocol and disrespect towards the president, but what we should have been asking is; “is he right, and is Barack Obama lying?” The answer to that question is quite obvious now.

Not quite sure what the fuss is about. Most health insurance programs provide coverage for abortions today, and that will not change under Obamacare. The costs of those abortions will be covered by premium dollars, not tax dollars.
Anyway, it’s a woman’s choice to make, in consultation with her medical professional. In some cases, responsible fathers join in the process. There’s no place in there either for an employer or a politician.

Well, on top of federally funding abortion, which Obama promised wouldn’t happen, we have an unelected official who is charged with creating these regulations and it seems to me as if she has quite a bit pf power. This is just the beginning, there is no telling where this law may take us.

The difference… about two-thirds of insurance companies cover elective abortion to some degree, with most offering providers the opportunity to opt-out. We have the option to choose which plans we provide for employees and are not forced to provide coverage for contraception and abortion. Obama-care forces the payment, and then attempts to hide what the charge is for. Look it up.

Rick, you are so right. Obama care remember, will be government sanctioned insurance. We wont have any rights to opt-out because we are just common people and not the exempt from Obama Care such as the president, house and senate.are. If we do not want to use his insurance, we will have to pay a fine. What kind of help the people is that? This was to not be an added tax Obama said. I am praying that SCOTUS rules Obamacare unconstitutional this summer. the country is already broke and can not afford the cost of this program. There will be more and more surprises coming from Sebelius.

The difference is that this is basically state approved genocide. The fuss is about no accountability and the ignorance of people who would vote for people that believe the American public is too stupid to make decisions for them selves.
As for premium dollars, not tax dollars being used and given the socialists policy of giving away things for free how long will it take them to decided that $1.00 is not fair?
The entire so called “healthcare” bill was railroaded through with none of, “all the usual suspects,” including the elitist harridan Nancy Pelosi, even aware of what was in the bill itself.
Insurance companies who offer legally endorosed genocide have the right as independent contractors and people have the choice whether or not to participate in that genocide.
However, on second thought state sponsored genocide might well fit into the administrations program to assassinate American citizens without due process…..WM

Good point WIlliam, we all know that once a ‘surcharge’ is in place that it will only increase as the years move on. This bill still won’t be fully implemented until after the election; we are just now seeing the beginning of the regulations which are to come.

A final thought has occurred to me. The $1.00 “bargain” abortion fits in well with another part of the healthcare travesty – independent review panels which will triage the medical needs of seniors. The end result there of course will cull out all those ‘pesky’ seniors who having lived long enough know corruption when they see it.
If one were to study Hitler’s T-4 Euthanasia Policy which allowed for euthanasia to be used for those with a determined long term chronic illness then we might be inclined to see a parallel between the radical socialists in the Obama administration and the Nazi’s prescribed policies of eugenics when looking at abortions and predetermined medical triage of seniors.
To those who might think this a stretch – wake up. We have seen policies implemented under this administration that many of us would never have imagined a few generations ago.
And to think we wasted all those years worrying about the Russians when we have an American born fifth column doing all the dirty works we once feared of happening from others….WM

This healthcare bill is over 1000 pages. Not one person who voted it in to law I guarantee has read the entire bill. They might see the little good it does have in it and not see the whole picture, which is severely damaging to the USA. Even other countries who have similar healthcare set up in their counties have told us not to do this and how damaging it will be.

I say a $1.00 surcharge for the hospital ER’s to cover the cost of visits by members of the gay community when they find it necessary to have a dead gerbil or a mayonnaise jar removed from one’s anal cavity. After all why should one hesitate in the persuit of sexual gratification in one’s orifice of choice due to a lack of cash or insurance? Where is it written in the new constitution that only women may choose to kill
