Solargate: Barack Obama blames China and the Congress for Solyndra
In an interview held earlier today, Barack Obama was asked if his “all of the above” strategy for energy independence was right considering that the government lended taxpayer money under the stimulus plan to several companies which subsequently filed for bankruptcy–the most prominent being Solyndra, which was awarded $500 million in stimulus loans before it went under.
Barack Obama defended the program, claiming that it was right, while at the same time trying to distance himself from his failed policy:
We are doing the “all of the above” strategy right. Obviously, we wish Solyndra hadn’t gone bankrupt. Part of the reason they did was because the Chinese were subsidizing their solar industry and flooding the market in ways that Solyndra couldn’t compete. But understand: This was not our program, per se. Congress — Democrats and Republicans — put together a loan guarantee program
According to Barack Obama it is both the Chinese and the Congress who are to blame for his policy failures. He is actually trying to distance himself from his green energy initiative which he was once so proud of, suddenly it wasn’t his plan. Putting aside the China excuse I want to focus on his assertion that the Congress is to blame for Solyndra. What he is basically saying is that it is the fault of the Congress for giving him this money to spend as he wished, and I can actually agree with that sentiment a little bit, I wouldn’t give him a single nickel to pursue his radical agenda, but that isn’t the point here.
For several months leading up to this interview Harry Reid and other Democrats have been telling the people that the Republicans are anti-environment, going so far as to claim that Republicans want to poison the water, and stating that Republicans want the people to breathe dirty air. But now suddenly the party of no is somehow duplicitous in this failed policy? I think not. In one day the Republicans have gone from being an obstructionist party to being part of a bipartisan agreement that led to the loss of millions of dollars in taxpayer money?
Barack Obama is willfully neglecting a couple of the pertinent facts. Solyndra was always seen to be a risky investment, even President Bush denied giving the company a loan because of this risk, yet it was Barack Obama who fast tracked the Solyndra review for political reasons. It was also Barack Obama who rewrote the rules of the stimulus bill (the one he is blaming the Congress for) in order to protect a major contributor to himself and the Democrat party, thusly removing taxpayer protections from the original stimulus bill. He is now trying to blame the Congress, but in my opinion the changes he made to the law abdicate any responsibility the Congress might have shared in this debacle. It is quite disingenuous for Barack Obama to blame the Congress for a program he altered before granting Solyndra the loan.
After three years in office Barack Obama has not taken responsibility for a single one of his failed policies and this is the latest example. It is time for Barack Obama to own up to his mistake and admit that his reckless spending on unproven technologies has not helped bring down the price of oil one bit, and actually has only deepened the pain Americans are feeling at the pump.

Once again we see the shadow of a self-absorbed caricature of a man who is unable to face the fact that he is responsible for his actions. But the saddest part of his shallowness, his inability to self-actualize, is that so many people are fooled by his snake oil approach to politics.
Obama’s “all of the above” strategy is working. He is doing “all of the above” as outlined in Alinsky’s Rules For Radicals the handbook of the “soft” approach to socialist takeover.
However, you can count on the fact that should all his machinations come to fruition that soft takeover will eventually morph into something else – you can count on it….WM

This is all part of that victimhood mentality that has become so common in today’s world–no one is responsible for his or her actions and Obama feels the same way.

William, I doubt that he has ever been responsible for his actions from early on, why would he think he should be now? I think that there were excuses made for him all along the way of his life and he expects someone else to take the blame for him. Remember he is “special”.

Ospenda neglected to thank the good folks over at Solyndra for laundering all that campaign donation money for him. Some folks just ain’t got no appreciation or no good manners anymo.

Well, I don’t know if I would go so ar as to call Romney a rock. 🙂 But Obama certainly is trying to deflect the blame and run from his policies when he is called on them, so he does have that in common with Romney.

This is what he seems to do on anything that doesn’t work his way, look for excuses like the earthquake in Japan to deflect the blame. It really does show a lack of leadership, and why would anyone want to follow if he will just throw them under the bus if things don’t work out the way he promised?

It shows a big sign of being immature, in my book. When I make a mistake, I own up to it, guess Obama has not gotten to that maturity level in his life, it is easier to blame someone, anyone else.

He does come off as immature when he whines like this. I think you are right in a comment above when you alluded to the fact that he just isn’t used to being told he is wrong because he was been coddled his whole life.

Honestly, I wonder what kind of psychological issues Obama has. Nothing is his fault, he never makes a bad decision, he’s the one fighting for things that keep getting defeated, etc…
This is just another example of “how stupid does he think we are.”
If he does have a psychological condition I certainly hope Obamacare covers it.

Steve, you are only allowed to do these things if someone else allows it to happen with no consequences. It is time for Obama to take responsibility for his actions and inactions. It will be a first for him. I won’t be holding my breath, however.

I won’t be holding my breath either. Nobody has ever held Obama accountable for his actions before, and now when he is questioned he doesn’t know how to deal with it.
