NBC, ABC, and CNN backtrack from their initial reporting on Trayvon Martin’s shooting
George Zimmerman has been tried and found guilty by Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and the New Black Panthers, all of whom have incited the protests which are now occurring in Florida, but there is no-one as guilty in this fiasco as the mainstream media for they have played audio and video tapes which they claim prove that George Zimmerman is guilty of a race based crime while claiming they have shown proof he is lying about what happened that night when Trayvon Martin was killed.
NBC, ABC, and CNN are the main culprits in promoting the race based theory that George Zimmerman targeted Trayvon Martin simply because he was a black man, but all three media outlets are now admitting mea culpas in their reporting of this tragic story.
NBC has committed the most egregious act among the three outlets by actually editing the 911 call tape to make it appear as if George Zimmerman was only suspicious of Trayvon Martin because he was black. Here is the part of the 911 tape NBC originally aired:
This guy looks like he’s up to no good…he looks black
But this is the conversation that actually took place:
Zimmerman: “This guy looks like he’s up to no good, or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.”
911 Dispacher: “Okay, is this guy, is he white, black, or Hispanic?”
Zimmerman: “He looks black.”
Just a little creative editing there and NBC would have us believe it was done because of airtime constraints. NBC has now issued an apology for the mistake but this was not a mistake, this was done on purpose and the fact that NBC is now conducting an internal investigation into the matter is of little concern George Zimmerman or his family for this character assassination. This was journalistic malpractice at its worst.
But then along comes ABC with video proof that George Zimmerman is lying about shooting Trayvon Martin in self defense. George Zimmerman claims he was attacked by Trayvon Martin, who repeatedly bashed his head into the ground bloodying his nose and the back of his head. ABC challenged this claim when the network released a fuzzy police surveillance video which supposedly shows us that Zimmerman was not bloodied as he claims he was. Less than one week later ABC released an enhanced video in which we could clearly see that he did indeed suffer wounds to the back of his head–ABC had to backtrack from its original story. (One has to wonder; was the second video really enhanced or was the resolution of the original video purposely downgraded.)
Not to be outdone by NBC or ABC: CNN released part of the 911 call in which they claimed it sounded as if George Zimmerman might have called Trayvon Martin a “fucking coon.” The audio was very hard to decipher yet CNN deciphered away. CNN has now released an enhanced version of the audio tape and has been forced to admit that it sounds as if Zimmerman said “fucking cold” and not “fucking coon.” CNN is backtracking from its original story.
We have three news outlet stories on the killing and now we have three news outlets backtracking from their original stories but it is much too late, isn’t it? The narrative has already been set and there is now turning back.
The situation is already beginning to skyrocket out of control and these three news outlets have all played a role in turning this case into a national election year issue before the justice system has been allowed to finish its investigation, and that was their intent all along. They didn’t have the facts so they created the facts to fit their narrative.
George Zimmerman may very well be guilty, we do not know at this point, but the mainstream media has done all it could to try this man in the court of public opinion and they have been caught red handed. There can no longer be any doubt that these three networks are not legitimate sources of news, they all have an agenda and they will push it even if they have to skew the facts and alter the evidence.

No surprise. In fact, NBC has a history of doing this. Back in the early ’90s, Chevrolet had a a problem with its saddlebag gas tanks on some of its pickup trucks. A broadside collision was said to have caused the tanks to burst and explode. In 1992, NBS Dateline aired a segment on this, and filmed a pickup exploding after being broadsided. What REALLY occured, is the producer of the segment had rigged model rocket engines to the tanks and set them off remotely. NBC paid big time, and all involved were fired. Google it. Bastards.

The damage is done. They know it. they did it deliberately and they will do it again. They are a disgrace to journalism. As you say, we don’t know if Zimmerman is guilty of a crime or not. But if he is not, how will he ever be able to reclaim his life.

There is no doubt that this was deliberate. They only issue a retraction after it is too late to stop what they have put in motion. They think they can have the best of both worlds here; they get what they want from the initial report and then issue the retraction to appear neutral, all the while knowing they have accomplished their goal.

I would like to say, I’m surprised and shocked, but I must tell you I’ve seen this kind of so-called news reporting from NBC and ABC going back to the 1960’s. At that time there was no counter-balance and the claims of these two media gaints went unchallenged and was excepted as the gospel. I’m so thankful that I have lived long enough to see some opposing views come across the nations airways. George Zimmerman, may in the end, be found guilt of something, but rest assured that whatever his punishment short of hanging will not satisfy the lynch mob knocking down the doors of justice. Having brought the rope and found that high limb the MSM is now backtracking a bit, but they have done the damage and if a trial comes it will not be fair for George. The jury pool has been tainted.

Once again, the media ran with something they should not have. And they can’t be outdone, can they? When something is in the news, there are those that will believe it, because they think they could not print something that is not true. So, we do not know yet what has really happened, but have the MEDIA version that sells the papers and magazines. It won’t matter if it was not true or if they have to “correct” it at a later date, the damage has been done. Throw on top of the extremely premature media news the racial twist and you have a time bomb. I guess the media has not learned that once it is out there, someone will always take off and run with it. Now we have Sharpton Jackson, the Congressional Black Caucus, New Black Panther Party and who knows what other groups that already know what REALLY happened. Do you honestly think that when the police make their final report on the actual facts in this case that anyone will believe it? I don’t. The media on so many levels has become dangerous to us. I hope they know what they have done, but guess as long as it makes money, that is all that matters.

They have all corrupted this story and tainted the image of Zimmerman to the point where he cannot win and it is irresponsible to say the least, but the MSM doesn’t care if people hear the retraction because they are pleased with what they have done so far.
I fear there is going to be violence related to this and the MSM, Jackson, Sharpton, the NBP, and the CBC will all be partially responsible for contributing to the atmosphere.

What do they say, to never let a good crisis go to waste? There are numerous nightly shootings in Chicago, wonder what sets them apart from the Zimmerman/Martin one? Oh, most likely they are black on black crimes, guess they don’t rate for Sharpton/Jackson? They would need something more than just that to get the airtime they want. That is pretty sad, I guess different people are worth more when they die than others. So much for the “good reverends”. They are plain sick as far as I am concerned.

Never let a good crisis go to waste was Rahm Emanuel’s belief and Obama is following that mantra to a tee. This was also a created crisis because the left looked at Zimmerman’s name and made an assumption, but at this point they cannot backtrack so the media is trying to dial it down for them. But it is too late and there is no going back now.
This case was singled out because of the races of the two people and it really is disgusting that these people think crimes committed against certain groups are more henious then the same crime committed against a different group.

Uh, Rahm Emmanuel may have been the most recent high-visibility politician to have enunciated the principle of never letting a good crisis go to waste, but he was far from the first . . . or have the good readers here forgotten the USA PATRIOT Act?
It’s such an ingrained element of the age-old quest for power and money that some in positions of power have even contrived to create crises to exploit – remember “You furnish the pictures, I’ll furnish the war!”

That’s true, they are still trying to pretend they are legitimate non-bias organizations but it is too late because they have already been caught. The problem is the people who they have enticed into action will not be paying attention to the reversal and will only believe what was originally reported.

As they say, “be careful what you wish for”. I have a feeling that it will get out of hand and there will be no controlling what will happen. Hope they are happy when it happens. Some people just do not plan ahead. In the emergency management agency we were taught to plan ahead ALWAYS. I don’t see this happening here, I think it will backfire on them.

Yes, Steve it is going to get ugly. Just in time for the warm weather with everyone out roaming the streets. I put up above that they were not planning ahead for the consequences, but I could be VERY wrong. They could have planned for this exact situation to happen. If so, that is deadly dangerous.

It seems to be part of Obama’s reelection campaign to divide Americans on line of race, gender, and class so I think this has been thought out. I think Obama wants it to get ugly because it is the only chance he has at winning.

Considering that most of what is in the nightly news is similar, imagine they are TOLD what to write. So much for the independent journalist. The same goes for the press that is at the White House, other than just a handful that actually ask a good question. They know who is going to be picked for a question and what the question will be ahead of time for the most part. Oh, for the days of REAL journalists. As for the alphabet news programs, I hope no one is taking them seriously anymore. Larry, you are so right about them “making” the news now.

Zimmerman was found NOT Guilty by a jury of his piers, get pass it. DC, NY: criminals walk the streets while law biding citizens are behind bars in their homes. London is the car jacking and home invasion capitol of the world. These are the cities that the CNN talking heads want us to emulate? I prefer to live where criminals fear the law biding citizens, thank you. The only people who are more despicable than Bullying criminals are those suits who want to take away our right of self defense while hiding behind 24 hour security them selves.

TV media is owned by corporations and these corporations are owned and controlled mostly by the Rich and upper class. None of these upper class want the surfs owning weapons. It has been that way through most of history. They hope to get the American people to vote away their right to keep weapons for self defense, by use of propaganda. The tactics that NBC, CNN, ABC use are no different than that of the former soviet union, out right lies and propaganda. pictures of trayvon martin when he was 12 and cut and paste sound editing of tapes. what do you call this! — and I would hold the same opinion if trayvon martin was blond-haired and blue-eyed, had nothing to do with race until the propanga machine made race an issue.
