Oil lobbyists, bus drivers and garbage men are considered green jobs in Barack Obama’s world

June 8, 2012

In the video below you will see Barack Obama talk about his green energy policy; in this video he proposes investing $150 billion in green energy and promises this investment will create 5 million jobs.

As president Barack Obama did invest billions of taxpayer dollars in green energy companies such as Solyndra, Solar Trust, SoloPower, Abound Solar, Enir1, BrightSource, Abengoa, SunPower, LightSquared, Tesla, Fisker, and Beacon Power. All of these companies have either already failed, are close to failing, or have deep problems which make the government’s decision to invest in these companies a dubious decision at best.

But despite these failings Barack Obama continues to tout green energy as the wave of the future while downplaying the enormity of these failures by claiming the overall portfolio remains strong. Barack Obama still considers his green energy policy a success and a jobs creator in spite of these failings, but how can he possibly justify this waste of taxpayers money?

That is a question Darrell Issa is seeking an answer to and yesterday Bureau of Labor Statistics Acting Commissioner Josh Galvin testified in front of the Oversight Committee and he was forced to basically admit that the green energy job numbers might not be on the level. I cannot post the video included in the linked article here but please take a few minutes to click on the link and watch it, it is well worth it.

Josh Galvin admitted that the following jobs are considered green jobs by the Obama regime:

  1. college professors who teach environmental studies
  2. bicycle shop employees
  3. antique dealers
  4. Salvation Army employees
  5. used book store owners and employees
  6. consignment shop owners and employees
  7. used record store owners and employees
  8. railroad workers
  9. trash disposal yard employees
  10. garbage collectors
  11. oil lobbyists

These are not new jobs created by Barack Obama’s green energy policy, these are jobs that were already existing which were reclassified by the Obama regime in an attempt to pad the states in order to make Barack Obama’s policy look like less of a failure than it actually is.

Nobody can say with a straight face that antique dealers, used book store owners, bus drivers, and oil lobbyists are green jobs and if you took the time to watch the video in the article I linked to above you surely noticed that Josh Galvin had a smug little smile on his face because he knows this is nothing but a scam designed to take the heat off of Barack Obama’s failures and lessen the public’s awareness of just how disastrous and wasteful this scam actually is.

I guess if you plant trees that would be a green job. But what else is a green job? What kind of toxic chemicals does a battery maker use? The whole idea of “green” jobs is a scam.
    Nice catch, Steve.

Are you lumping the legal and illegal landscapers in the same group, or is there a separate catagory for both? This could get pretty detailed if broken down. It is so silly who all they have that are supposed to be “green jobs” that I guess we can have fun with it.

How about envy? Socialists seem to be “green” with envy. If we except that definition than Obama did create millions of jobs – green envy jobs. I don’t know how we all missed that….WM

They really do underestimate us because they think they are so much smarter than we are that we won’t catch on to what they are doing. They simply aren’t as smart as they think they are.

What about the people receiving welfare? They do alot of “nothing”, so technically couldn’t that be considered a green job? After all, look at all the carbon credits they are NOT using? Not going to work, sitting on that front porch, they “work” hard at getting that welfare check…just asking! And before someone gets offended, I am NOT speaking of people that really need help, I am talking about the generation to generation that stay on welfare and never try and get off of it.
