Barack Obama implements the DREAM Act through Executive Order

June 15, 2012

Back in July of 2011 Barack Obama addressed La Razza–which literally translates to The Race–and spoke about comprehensive immigration reform and during this speech he said the following:

The idea of doing things on my own is very tempting, I promise you, not just on immigration reform. But that’s not how our system works. That’s not how our democracy functions

Less than one month later Barack Obama succumbed to the temptation when he decided he didn’t give a damn how our republic functions when he bypassed the Congress and issued an Executive Order loosening the immigration laws and granting illegal aliens de facto amnesty. In Barack Obama’s mind this was a good start toward a larger goal and earlier today he advanced a little bit further toward the end game when he once again bypassed the Congress and implemented the DREAM Act through Executive Order.

The DREAM Act has been debated in the Congress several times in the past and because it is so unpopular with a vast majority of the voters the Congress has been unable to pass it.  Even George W Bush tried to pass the DREAM Act after the Democrats won the majority in the Congress after the 2006 election and was forced to abandon the act.

Barack Obama knows this is an unpopular piece of legislation and because the Congress has listened to the will of the people it would never pass so today he took the voice of the people away when he decided what was best for the nation. We have seen Barack Obama do this in the past with the EPA  and the FCC so it isn’t surprising that he felt emboldened to take such a drastic measure. Our system of governance was set up to ensure that one man–nevermind one branch of government–didn’t have too much power and yet one man is writing the laws of the nation which all people must follow. This doesn’t sound presidential, it sounds dictatorial and it is something the founders despised. (Although somewhere Marco Rubio and Newt Gingrich are smiling with this news.)

Barack Obama and the Department of Justice are charged with upholding and defending the laws of the United States, they are not charged with writing the laws of the United States but that is what happened today. But as I alluded to above this is still not the end game, this is just a march toward the final goal.

Slowly, one step at a time and piece by piece through executive decree the president is granting illegal aliens all the rights owned by legal aliens and citizens of the United States with the exception of the franchise–voting rights–but does anyone think this is not in the works as well, and could very well be decreed before the election and close enough to the election to make it impossible to stop it before the election?

As Barack Obama sinks lower and lower in the polls and as his reelection seems to be more and more in doubt he is grabbing more power at an alarming rate and one has to wonder how far he will go between now and the election to ensure he cannot be defeated fairly. Barack Obama himself admitted this wasn’t how out democracy functioned and yet that is how he has decided to govern and he must be held accountable at the ballot box if not sooner.

Welcome to the world of Hugo Chavez. This is the way it works with a democratically elected dictator. Only impeachment can stop him and that won’t happen with this Senate. 800,000 new legal residents that don’t have to show an ID to vote. We must defeat him in November, Steve. He must be stopped!

If the government says the number is 800,000 we can probably double it and be more accurate. We are becoming a third world dictatorship and I feel helpless to do anything about it, we might not be able to wait until November.

The more he talks about change, the more he stays the same. This is a play right out of his normal playbook. He wants something and he acts to get it, even if it is unconstitutional.

Something else about this that bears mention is the influx of these newly legalized workers, right when our unemployment rate is so high. That’s not what American workers need right now.

It’s the Chicogo way I suppose. That is a good point about the unemployment rate. We are now adding more people to the job market when we have so many Americans looking for jobs, I guess we see where his priorities are.

is not what american want because american people want high paying jobs and less work. In reality that doesn’t work on life and thats the reason why many americans are unemployed, Immigrants people there just doing what they can to support there family and american people well we just get food stamps and unemployment check. if american people wanted a job, theres plenty but they just dont work for minimum wage so instead they just go unemployed and then they are complaining about unemployment rate going up and immigrants taking there jobs opportunities.

I never mentioned race once, you did. You obviously did not read what I wrote before commenting because if you did you would have seen that my problem is with the fact that Barack Obama did not follow the rues when he implemented this policy. The constitution is set up to ensure that one man doesn’t have too much power yet Barack Obama has assumed power which the constitution does not grant him.

Did you know that “Mexican law considers “[i]legal entry a federal crime … penalized with imprisonment for up to TWO years, a fine from three hundred to five thousand Mexican Pesos, and deportation.” Repeat offenders receive even harsher sanctions of 10-year imprisonment and a fine of up to five thousand pesos and deportation.”

And WE are the harsh ones? Maybe you should try crossing the border into Mexico and let us all know how that goes.

You are really missing the point. No one wants to keep Mexicans out of this country. We just want them to come here legally. What do you think would happen if you enter Mexico illegally? I’ll guarantee you one thing, you’ll be in a lot of trouble. And you want us to allow illegal immigrants to come and go as they please? I don’t think so.

LD Jackson you said it would be better for all illegal immigrants to come to this country legally so that WE can pay taxes do everything the right way, i truly agree with you. so why are you against a law that will help certain immigrants to be here legally, whom will start paying taxes and all that stuff. You said you would prefer for illegal immigrants to go back and come here legally, so this new law is doing the same except we dont have to go back. Do you see my point. You tell me what the difference is

Excellent post. For being the President, he sure doesn’t give a damn about the Constitution or the three branches of government. I believe this is an impeachable offense. The Executive Office enforces the laws and in this case, he is refusing to enforce current immigration law; if you are here illegally, you will be arrested. Congress creates laws, not the Office of the President. In my blog, I ask the question: What else does he have to do to convince us to take back our country from these tyrants? I look forward to reading more of your posts. Keep fighting the good fight!

I am “illegal” here, I understand some points on how illegals should come over the right way, but if it was that simple everyone would do it the right way, sadly there are families that cant wait 5+ years to be approved for visas. If they didn’t come to the U.S illegally their children would have no chance of life, they would starve, be uneducated, have no food, no water, so this is my question , the U.S will welcome people from the middle east, people who have ties to the criminals who devestated the U.S with the Crimes of September 11th , who killed our loved ones both in the military & loved ones in the twin towers people who dont think twice on strapping bombs on themselfs just to harm americans even women & children will grab a gun or bomb to do harm, my husband did 3tours in Iraq & Afgan & was even blown up, friends of ours passed away left behind kids & spouses , but these people are still more welcomed than a latino, who only wants a job to support & care for their familes to try and give them a better future than they had, just like any of you would hopfully do for your families. Its a shame that mexican goverment is as ignorant as some of you & they treat illegals how they do, but let me tell you this I was brought here not by choice but as a inocent 2yr old baby, I grew up here, graduated high school & went on to receive a cosmetology lisc, so I would have a way to support myself & never be a burden to the U.S I have not been to Mexico since I was 2yrs old, I wouldn’t think twice about giving my life for the U.S & I would defend this country against anyone may it be , Mexico or any other country. I hope some day this world chages. I think no matter what president it is when it comes to immigration, if they do something that even slightly helps immigrents. People will always have some thing to say & like it or not he is our president & I hope people dont forget the good he has done & who under his government was finally captured & killed and with that many 911 families & soldiers FINALLY got some justice! Im an illegal & my Last name is Owen & I’m married to Veteren.

buddy you are ignorant!! And I’m sorry to use this world but that’s the only one that comes to mind… How do you dare to say that it is not supposed to be easy!!! So what is that meant families have to die, not able to express their self.. and so many other reasons if why people decided to move to USA , Not to kill, still, or do any harm but for the other hand to grow as a person, community and as a family… To offer better life to those who they love, or I should say “Just give a chance for those love to be free, to know that whenever they turn 16 and want to go out and have fun with their friends, they can be sure that most likely nothing will happen to them, to be able to have an education and become someone and there so many examples i can give you of shocking stories” But yet there is people like you that were born in this country and instead of help, support and give.. you are here to take away the DREAM OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE THAT HAD TO COME NOT FOR CHOICE BUT FOR NEED!!! Because i am sure that most of us Immigrants dreams about their COUNTRY, FAMILY, CULTURE, FOOD, AND JUST THE PLACE WHERE THEY WERE BORN… A PLACE WHERE THEY ARE JUST OTHER CITIZEN TRYING TO GROW WITHOUT SUCCESS THEN COME TO USA AND BECOME ONE IF NOT THE BEST EMPLOYEE THEY HAVE HAD.. BECAUSE IF THEY JOBS IS TO SWIPE THEY WILL SWIPE, MOPE, DUST, AND FIND SOMETHING ELSE SO IT LOOKS/ SMELL GOOD FOR EACH OF YOU WHEN YOU GO TO THEIR WORK PLACES!! PEOPLE AS HER THAT LEFT SINCE SHE WAS 2 AND HAVENT BEING ABLE TO SEE HER FAMILY SINCE THEN… THAT MEAN WHILE EACH AND EVERYONE IN HERE HAVE THE CHANCE TO SEE THEIR FAMILY AS MUCH AS THEY CAN (sTILL DONT VISIT THEM!!) TO FEEL LONELY AND DIFFERENT!! DO YOU THINK THIS IS EASY SEND YOUR 14 YEAR OLD TO COLOMBIA,MEXICO, CHINA, JAPAN.. WITHOUT SPEAKING ANY OF THIS LANGUAGES, WITHOUT FAMILY OR EVEN AT LEAST YOU THEIR PARENT.. NOT YOUR CHOICE RIGHT!! (wHY: BEACUSE OF A STUPID PAPER, THAT ALLOWS ME TO COME IN!! THEY DONT EVEN GIVE IT TO THE WHOLE FAMILY INSTEAD THEY PICK AND CHOICE, LIKE WE ARE SOME SORT OF ANIMALS OR SOMETHING!! BUT OH WELL I’M MORE THAN SURE THAT FOR YOU THAT WAS BORN IN AMERICA THAT HAS TO ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING TO FIND A JOB MUST BE PRETTY UPSETTING.. BUT FOR ONCE YOU ARE COMING TO REALITY, A REALITY THAT HAVENT BEING FACE!! YOU KNOW THIS IMMIGRANTS! ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE DOCTORS, ENGINEERS, POLICEMEN YOU NAME IT BUT STILL THEY ARE THERE TAKE THE JOB THAT YOU GUYS DON’T TAKE BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT THE TYPE OF JOB FOR AMERICANS!! RIGHT! YOU GUYS QUIT ONE JOB AND FIND AN OTHER IN DAYS BUT FOR IMMIGRANTS IS DIFFERENT AGAIN BECAUSE OF A PAPER! SO LEST DONT TALK ABOUT HOW LIFE SUPPOSED TO BE!!

Its giving them a chance to be a part of this amazing country. As for the people who are complaining about the unemployment…. stop trying to make it seem like its the mexicans fault. Unemployment has been around for awhile -.- Plus this is going to sound racist but most americans are lazy and I’ve seen this first hand. My next door neighbor is an illegal person and he is a really hardworker and never gets in trouble. Whatever you need he’s there and charge free 🙂 I have seen other illegal people and they really do deserve better. All they do is get exploited from people who dont wanna pay more.Well that’s my opinion

What is hard to believe is that the Mexican authorities don’t control who comes over their borders.

This has nothing to do with having a say over who lives where and how they will prosper. It has everything to do with the law of the land. Our immigration laws prohibit illegal border crossings. It is the fault of the federal government that those laws have not been enforced, but it doesn’t make it okay for anyone to come across our border illegally.

I’m not sure where you came up with the argument about the melting pot and me wanting to keep my bloodline secure, but you are way off base. I may be a lot of things, but racist isn’t one of them.

Its sad how Immigrants get the short end of the stick. And as i remember from history, we ALL migrated here from other countries. Good people and families who seek a properous life in America, all ,are in search of the American dream::which is defined as:::a set of ideals in which freedom includes the opportunity for prosperity and success, and an upward social mobility achieved through hard work. In the definition of the American Dream by James Truslow Adams in 1931, “life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement” regardless of social class or circumstances of birth.[1]–These INNOCENT people, children, and families suffer as result of NO ORDER IN THERE OWN COUNTRY… these people should not have to be victims and prisoners of there own environment..As for myself, I am an AMERICAN,my husband is an immigrant. He has had the same job for 8 years, has had ZERO encounters with the law, and has virtually spent all of his earnings over these years on immigration lawyers and filing fees.We are still waiting for his greencard to be issued. Both of us and our 3 american children, are affected by this greatly. If they deny him, then what???? Scenario#1, He gets deported, and our 3 kids loose a father???Scenario#2 Me (an American) and my 3 (American) children will be forced to move to a third world country…I would never abandon my family or my husband. Freedom is not FREE!!!!

This Country was founded on Christian principals that governed, and the Law that guided the birth of this Nation was in line with the word of God. The American Experiment has fail our comprehension! Not because God has fail us but because we failed God and His Blessing. Now we are in a state of social confusion and their is no way to fix it. Historically we are only able to generate problem, and not able to correct them. In the infancy of this Great Nation we had a Dream that overshadow adversity, and gave Hope to millions. Now we have adversity that overshadow every single aspect of our society. For all we have done we are now bankrupt: morally, financially, spiritually.
