Mitt Romney speaks out against Barack Obama for implementing the DREAM Act through Executive Order, but not the DREAM Act itself
Mitt Romney came out against Barack Obama yesterday for implementing the DREAM Act through Executive Order, but does he actually oppose the DREAM Act itself? Here is what Mitt Romney said:
I believe the status of young people who come here through no fault of their own is an important matter to be considered and should be solved on a long-term basis, so they know what their future would be in this country,” Romney said in a statement provided to The Daily Caller. “I think the action that the president took today makes it more difficult to reach that long-term solution because an executive order is, of course, just a short-term matter — it can be reversed by subsequent presidents
He is only opposed to Barack Obama’s action yesterday because it isn’t permanent enough for him, another president could step in and reverse the DREAM Act whereas he wants to see it much more stable and irreversible. It seems Mitt Romney’s biggest problem with the DREAM Act isn’t with the act itself but the manner in which Barack Obama implemented it.
What would Mitt Romney do as president?
If I’m president, we’ll do our very best to have that kind of long-term solution that provides certainty and clarity for the people who come into this country through no fault of their own by virtue of the action of their parents
I suppose this means he would work with the Congress to pass DREAM Act legislation, and while that is the proper way to go about it and much more acceptable to me than an Executive Order, the bottom line is the DREAM Act is still the DREAM Act and when it comes to this issue Barack Obama, Marco Rubio, and Mitt Romney all seem to agree on the basic structure of this legislation.

And this is our ‘other’ choice?
Shit we are so screwed…

He’s a damn RINO and we all know it.
It’s just a matter of degree to the left that the country is pushed.
Anyone but Obama at this point,

That’sa good point, we will shift to the left no matter who is elected. It is only a matter of degrees and at this point I still don’t know if there is enough of a difference between the two men to bother voting for Romney.

Thank you and sadly this is our only other choice. 😦

This is something I am concerned about as well. Let me ask a question.
Those who are in favor of this seem to think it is a good thing because the illegals in question are illegal through no fault of their own. That may be true in many cases, but what about those who are adults and know they are illegal, yet have made no move to become legal residents or citizens of this country? Do they not bear some responsibility for that inaction?

Talking about this to people.. there are mixed feelings. Personally, there is a ‘system’ in place and that has been overrun by the ‘alien’ in the White House and the constitution is now being abused.
Your Congress is outnumbers by ex-wall streeters and therefore they are unable to do anything. Also, Congress has been informed in March 2012 by Panetta, that they (US) now answers to the EU.
What do you do? When Americans get angry enough, I’m hoping they will do something. As long as the US military is aiding Obama in the Middle East, there is no help at home.
So sad to see a country that ‘was’ so great that people were dying just to be part of it, become a mess.

Those are great questions Larry and if they show no concern for immigration law how can we trust they will be concerned with any law?

Am I the only one who is suspicious of the timing of this? This is a a very well placed smoke bomb to get votes and distract from the investigation into FF and Leakgate. The MM has taken the bait hook line and sinker.

Change is on the Horizon
This is a 3 part documentary on why the US is in the shape it is today.
Part 1 may appear boring at the beginning but will pick up and explain what’s going on.
I think every American needs to see this. I’ve posted it on other news sites and viewers are tuning in.

Once elected President Barack O’Romney can appoint Jimmy Carter as the secretary of the newly created Department of Habitat For Humanity and he wouldn build baraks, oops-I mean barracks in every one of our ports of entry where illegal parents could drop their illegal kids, return to their third world hovels and wait till these parasitic children have learned to game the system when they will demand to have mommy and daddy brought in to care for them. After all why should they be orphaned through no fault of their own. Romney and Rubio for Prez and VP, keeping the RINO dream alive. So what were you expecting?

I really wasn’t expecting much from Romney, that’s for sure. The man is a weathervain and has no true political beliefs other than doing and saying whatever it takes to become president. Kinda sounds like the guy currently residing in the White House…..
