Benghazi: Barack Obama knew United States weapons fell into the hands of Islamic extremists in Libya months before the attack
Some of the rumors floating around the internet about the terrorist attack in Benghazi and the ensuing cover up was the possibility that the Obama regime was covering up the fact that the weapons used to kill Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods were either weapons recovered by the United States in the aftermath of Gaddafi’s overthrow which were then being smuggled through Turkey and into Syria to help the rebellion in that country, or the weapons used in the attack were weapons which were captured in Libya by Islamists and remained unaccounted for.
At this point we still do not know if these rumors are true but the New York Times (yes, the New York Times) is now reporting that the Obama regime was in fact secretly supplying weapons to Qatar which would then send the weapons to help support the Libyan rebels. The Obama regime also learned in the Spring of 2011 that Qatar was diverting some of the weapons meant for the Libyan rebels to Islamic militants in Libya.

But in the months before, the Obama administration clearly was worried about the consequences of its hidden hand in helping arm Libyan militants, concerns that have not previously been reported. The weapons and money from Qatar strengthened militant groups in Libya, allowing them to become a destabilizing force since the fall of the Qaddafi government.
The Obama regime knew almost immediately that some of these weapons were going into the hands of militants and yet did nothing to stop it and in fact kept it on the down low:
Within weeks of endorsing Qatar’s plan to send weapons there in spring 2011, the White House began receiving reports that they were going to Islamic militant groups. They were “more antidemocratic, more hard-line, closer to an extreme version of Islam” than the main rebel alliance in Libya, said a former Defense Department official.
The New York Times is also reporting that at this time there is no evidence that any of these weapons were used in the terrorist attack on the United States consulate in Libya on September 11th, but that does not mean no evidence exists, it just means it might exist and hasn’t come to light at this point.
This means that a full investigation of this situation is in order and at this point is seems as if the Obama regime is covering up a scandal which actually dwarfs the Fast and Furious scandal.
So, not only did Barack Obama ignore the warnings that a terrorist attack was imminent, and not only did he ignore Chris Stevens’ pleas for more security while at the same time withdrawing security forces, he did this all the while knowing that Libyan militants were in possession of United States weapons.
At this point one has to wonder if Chris Stevens was getting prepared to blow the lid off this scandal and was deemed expendable for the greater good.

I’m beginning to wonder if the full scope of what happened in Benghazi will ever be exposed. Seems like for every answer two questions emerge. I wonder just how many blind alleys we’ll have to go down before finding the truth, if ever.

Folks, this is old news. Glenn Beck and his media outlet The Blaze broke this story only a few days after September 11th. All the rest of the news media knew of it but they are only breaking the story now so it wouldn’t hurt Obama in the November election. Beck showed postings at a website from the one of the Navy seals killed only days before the ambush where the seal explained they were there to try and recover the weapons Obama knew was going into the hand of Al-Queda. But Beck’s critics called him crazy at the time, even though he showed all of his sources. Looks like Beck was right again.

Yes, this has been out there for awhile and I have mentioned it in some other posts, but this is the first time sombody in the MSM actually wrote about it and that is a disgrace. This should have been Obama’s undoing and it was totally ignored by the MSM to protect Obama.

If they can prove Obama knew of this, this is absolutely an impeachable offense since it clearly violates the Constitution and the oath of office. The House GOP will pursue this, that much you can bet on.

We sell weapons to everyone. Some of them go to the “wrong” people. You tell the gun makers they can’t sell guns to any country and see what happens. There is another side of this story that no one here wants to talk about. Billions upon billions of dollars worth of weapons being manufactured by us, Russia, China etc. and them going everywhere. I am sure the Qatar government would buy them from Russia if we didn’t sell them to our “ally” so I am sure the theory was “take the money”. And please don’t call us reality based people “trolls”. We (Reagan) sell guns to almost everyone. We would sell them to North Korea if they gave us something in return that would make some well connected company somewhere a profit. Opposing arms manufacturers selling weapons to anyone is like opposing “capitalism” or something in the minds of the readers here I imagine. Foreign relations, and arms sales is a little more complicated than a simple attack on our president. Some of us are getting tired of this kind of “attack Obama” crap. Half the ice in the arctic has melted in the last 40 years, and the earth’s temperature will rise by as much as 8 degrees by the end of the century, and most of Florida will be underwater. Maybe dealing with this might make more sense than attacking our president.

What I have a problem with is blaming president Obama for things he has little or no control over. Then blaming him for imaginary stuff. My biggest problem with Obama is he didn’t lock up half of the Wall Street banksters for selling worthless cdo’s to investors for bonuses. You and I do a crime and we get locked up. A Wall Street Banker commits a crime and he gets a bonus.
Elizabeth Warren is right. The game is rigged.
“This” as you put it did not cause their deaths, and blaming Obama for these deaths makes as much sense as blaming Reagan for the bombing in Lebanon where 241 Americans were killed.
If you want to complain about Obama make him force the rich to start sharing instead of hoarding almost every penny made in this country.

I blame Obama because his policies in the Middle East and his support of the rebels in Eqypt, Libya, and Syria during the “Arab Spring” have destablilized the area. I blame Obama for not attending his briefings and then ignoring Chris Stevens when he was begging for more security and I blame Obama for not sending in help once the attack started.
If you want to discuss economic and tax issues I have posted many articles here where it would be more proper to debate, and there will be an open thread tomorrow where nothing is off topic.

Steve, Obama’s policies in the Middle East? You mean helping “people” overthrow dictators? Spreading “freedom” as they say? You are right, the area has been destabilized. When the whole purpose of our American Government is helping corporations profit internationally with no regard for the people of nations who’s wealth is being extracted, then dictatorships are far more stable. You are absolutely right, dictators are easier to bribe and control. But you must remember, the arc of history bends toward justice.
I remember a picture of Rumsfeld shaking Saddam’s hand. The next thing you know Saddam wants to sell his oil for Euros and then wham, shock and awe…… Gassing the Kurds, no problem. Asking to be paid in Euros = invasion. Reality = Reality.

Steve, you and I both knew what was going to come of Libya… nothing good. Like F&F which you have covered well we knew if something did happen nobody in the Obama admin would be held responsible.

Harrison, we ALL expect what happens. Obama is protected “at all cost”…sad, isn’t it? If, and I know it to be true, a Republican had pulled ANY of what has gone on in this White House, Harry Reid and the rest of his “people” would have been screaming for Impeachment or worse…what do we hear now??? That tells us all we need to know. And, before Anonymous wants to site Reagan or Bush or whoever, we KNOW this is true. To say that Elizabeth Warren is RIGHT about something tells me all I need to know about him/her.
