Texas lawmaker to introduce a “Firearms Protection Act”

January 15, 2013

Last week Wyoming lawmakers proposed a “Firearms Protection Act” which would make it a felony for a federal agent to come into Wyoming and try to enforce certain potential bans that it is believed Barack Obama and the Democrats have planned in the very near future.

Today Texas announced it would follow Wyoming’s lead and also introduce a “Firearms Protection Act” which, if I am reading this article correctly, would actually oppose ANY new gun or magazine bans or restrictions–taking it even one step further than the Wyoming plan–while also making it a felony for a federal agent to enforce the upcoming bans.

This law will make “any federal law banning semi-automatic handguns or limiting the size of gun magazines unenforceable within the state’s boundaries.”

Let’s not kid ourselves here; we all know how well nullification works because it has been tried once before to disastrous results and in the end these laws will be found to be in violation of the constitution by the Supreme Court under the supremacy clause:

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.

But that does not mean that states shouldn’t move forward with this line of defense because we need people to stand up and voice exactly how opposed we are to this upcoming assault on the second amendment and this certainly helps to make our position known. This  must be done by the people and by the states because as we have seen time and time again, the ruling class, elitist, establishment Republicans in the federal government will simply roll over and play dead when push comes to shove and give Barack Obama exactly what he wants.

To quote Barack Obama; we are the ones that we have been waiting for.

What is really sad is that it even has to come to this. In reality, we shouldn’t even have to be discussing how we can protect the 2nd Amendment rights of law abiding American citizens.

You’ve got that right Larry! We have known for quite awhile where Barack Obama stands on the second amendment but he didn’t dare move on it in his first term. That has changed now that he won’t be up for reelection and he finally has the crisis he tried to create with Fast and Furious.
