The Department of Justice confirms Eric Holder knew about the James Rosen search warrant
As I wrote about in this post yesterday, it was reported that Eric Holder was the person who signed off on the search warrant to monitor James Rosen’s personal email while labeling him a co-conspirator in violation of the Espionage Act, and if this is true it appears as if Eric Holder perjured himself in Congress last week when he claimed the following:
In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material. This is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy
The Department of Injustice has now confirmed that while we still don’t know if Eric Holder actually signed off on the search warrant that he was indeed involved in the discussion:
The U.S. Justice Department said on Friday that Attorney General Eric Holder and other senior officials vetted a decision to search an email account belonging to a Fox News reporter whose story on North Korea prompted a leak investigation
The latest Justice Department statement said the highest levels of the department were involved in the search warrant used in Kim’s case. The process included discussions Holder took part in, according to the statement
The Department of Injustice is defending this decision by stating they followed all the laws and had a federal judge approve the warrant, but it should be mentioned here that two federal judges previously told the Injustice Department that this could not be done in secret because the warrant was for an indefinite amount of time. The DO(I)J appealed these decisions until they found a federal justice who agreed the warrants could be issued in secrecy and that is what they did.
But that is neither here nor there for the purpose of this post because the bottom line is that it appears as if we now know that Eric Holder perjured himself when he stated he never even heard of a case where there was a “potential prosecution of the press.”
In a speech last week Barack Obama claimed he was very worried about the possibility of journalists being targeted for news gathering–precisely what we now know Eric Holder was engaged in–but to this point Barack Obama’s only reaction to the news was to have Eric Holder investigate himself.
In now appears as if this should be a short-lived investigation culminating in either the resignation or removal of Eric Holder while he awaits trial on perjury.

Why that durn no good polecat…we knew he was a lying all along by jiminy. Why I hope them thar good ol’ boys tar and feather him afore runnin’ his sorry ass out o’ town.

At least a cockroach will hide when you shine a light on it while Holder just won’t go away for a minute.
