Is New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio trying to punish the wealthy by not plowing snow in their neighborhoods?

January 21, 2014

Much was made in the mainstream media about Chris Christie and Bridgeghazi. While this scandal shows Chris Christie to be a bully and a thug this scandal pales in comparison to the NSA, the IRS, Fast and Furious, Fort Hood, and Benghazi scandals yet you would not know it by listening to the mainstream media.

The die has been cast in the mainstream media about what constitutes a true scandal, political bullying trumps everything else, so one has to wonder what the mainstream media thinks about New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and plowgate.

Some residents of New York City believe that the person they elected to represent them is punishing them for being wealthy by not plowing out their neighborhoods:

It really is a tale of two cities — this time with the tony Upper East Side getting the shaft!

Huge swaths of the UES had been not been plowed by early Tuesday evening, according to the city’s own map of snow-plower activity.

“He is trying to get us back. He is very divisive and political,” said writer and life-long Upper East Side mom Molly Jong Fast of Mayor de Blasio.

“By not plowing the Upper East Side, he is saying, ‘I’m not one of them.’ But we have everyone in this area on the Upper East Side. We have rich people, middle class people, and housing projects. We have it all.”

There appeared to be no snow plowing between East 59th and 79th Streets and between Second and Fifth Avenues.

“I can’t believe de Blasio could do this. He is putting everyone in danger,” said Barbara Tamerin, who was using ski poles to get around 81st Street and Lexington Avenue.

“ What is he thinking? We’re supposed to get up to a foot of snow and nobody on the Upper East Side is supposed to blink an eye? I can barely get around and I’m on snow shoes! All of the buses are stuck and can’t go anywhere. He’s crazy. We need Mayor Bloomberg back!”

In my opinion this is worse than what Chris Christie did because he targeted a political opponent, which is inexcusable, while if  this story is true Bill de Blasio is targeting his own constituents, which is unforgivable and a dereliction of duty, and this just happens to come on the heels of Andrew Cuomo declaring his political opponents are not welcome in his state. It is pretty clear what is currently happening in the state of New York, in my opinion.

If this story is true it means that both Chris Christie and Bill de Blasio are guilty of causing traffic jams for political purposes so it will be interesting to see if the mainstream media covers this story with as much fervor and lust as they have the Christie scandal. But I think we know the answer to that, don’t we?

Stuff that scandals are made of. Rich people pay taxes ad are entitled to municipal services, just like the welfare people are, who do not pay taxes. Something sounds strange with that. If somebody takes money from me, saying they will provide a service, but they do not provide a service, and, they keep my money, and refuse to give it back to me… That’s the Marxist Way! THEFT. LARCENY.

Thank you for the reblog and you nailed it, just because these people are rich doesn’t mean they do not deserve the services they pay for. They do pay taxes after all, or has de Blasio forgotten that?

Rich people, last time I checked, pay more in taxes than middle class people, and crazy/over-the-top taxes when compared to welfare people. Bet money, every housing project (100% welfare) in NYC is plowed and shoveled.

Yep, but somehow they are not entitled to the same benefits as are the people who pay no taxes?!

Wrong democrat is an oxymoron. Meanwhile our rotund governor here in Jersey is getting his just desserts (pun intended) for swapping spit with Obama and his other lefty friends who have turned on him unreservedly. If truly he wants to escape the slings and arrows of the left he need only change party affiliation; his sins will be forgiven faster than a trip to the confessional.

It is hard to feel bad for Christie for he is getting what he deserves for thinking the MSM and the Democrats would have his back if he kissed their asses.

Politics is all about power. A politician eith has it, or wants it, or is afraid of losing it. Sadly, being a politician has nothing to do with service to the governed.

You nailed it! Politics has nothing to do with serving the people anymore, they are only concerned with serving themselves.

I guess he thought they all had gone to Palm Beach for the winter and there was no need to plough their neighborhood.

I hope Blasio hurts as many people as possible, especially the liberal elite, for electing him. Didn’t anyone remember the story of the frog and the scorpion? It is just his nature.
