I have held the opinion for quite some time now that as goes Wisconsin, so goes the nation. The theory being this: Scott Walker of Wisconsin was elected on a campaign promise of bringing fiscal responsibility to the state. In just over one year he was not only able to balance the budget but also has the state running at a surplus. This has created a business atmosphere which has Wisconsin rising in the best/worst states business outlook. For his effort he is facing a recall election because some people (mostly unions) are upset at the tough choices he had to make to turn the state around. This recall effort–and its success or failure–will be a bell weather indicator heading into November. If Scott Walker is recalled it will show the nation that the people of America really aren’t ready to accept the tough decisions which will have to be made if we are going to stave off the impending collapse, but if Scott Walker survives it just might show us we still have a fighting chance at turning this around before we face a total collapse of our economic system. (I would argue that some on the left want the economic system to collapse, but that is an argument for another day.)

After last week’s primary in Wisconsin when the Democrats picked Scott Walker’s opponent the early returns look promising and offer us some hope. The latest polls show Scott Walker leading from anywhere between 5-10 percentage points, and now according this story an email sent by MoveOn.org admits the Democratic National Committee is no longer going to invest in the recall effort–for all intents and purposes they are pulling out of the recall effort. One can easily presume they see the writing is on the wall and they don’t want to be associated with a losing effort.

I honestly believe that June 5th will give us a very real indication of what is going to happen in November and this race deserves all the scrutiny it has received. This election will set the stage and the tone of the election; it will put one party on the offense and the other on defense and the party that wins this election will have the momentum moving forward.

It looks good at this point but with two weeks to go anything can happen, stay tuned…..

The blond haired, blue eyed, lily white carpetbagging senatorial hopeful from Oklahoma masquerading as a Massachusetts resident, Elizabeth Warren, has been on the defensive since it was learned she identified herself as a Native-American minority in law school directories for ten years. She claims she did so simply to meet people who were like her, hoping to attend luncheon with other Native-Americans and not to advance her career.

She never did attend any of the events held for Native-Americans even though this was the stated goal for her deception, but she did in fact advance her career. The woman who claims to be the intellectual foundation of the Occupy Wall Street movement would have us believe she did not even consider the fact that law schools look to this directory when they are attempting to fill racial quotas when she decided to list herself as a minority.

Yet Harvard did in fact site Warren as an example of gender and racial diversity when the university came under fire for being too white and too male, and the Minority Equity Committee of the University of Pennsylvania published a report with a list of all minority award winners and Elizabeth Warren’s name just happened to appear in it. Clearly these two universities thought Elizabeth Warren was a minority and why wouldn’t they, after all she told them she was. And yet we are to believe Elizabeth Warren had no idea this was happening and had not intended for her newly found minority status to help her career.

Now it turns out that Fordham Law Review called Elizabeth Warren Harvard Law’s “first woman of color” in an article published in 1997. Clearly Elizabeth Warren was helped by her deception, and her grandfather’s high cheekbones notwithstanding, there is absolutely no proof that Elizabeth Warren has one drop of Native-American blood coursing through her veins.

Elizabeth Warren is “offended” by the accusations she was helped by her minority status, claiming she got where she was on her own through her hard work, yet she recently said of rich people “there is nobody in this country who got rich on his own — nobody” and it appears as if this is a philosophy she actually lives by because while she has become rich she also felt she couldn’t do it on her own. She felt she needed help and she found it in the law directories when she listed herself as a minority. She knew as a woman and as a rather rare minority she would gain a ticket to the front of the line. All she had to do was be untruthful about who she was and so that is what she did.

How many people who were either equally are more qualified for the position were passed over without even the slightest hope of getting hired simply because they were honest about who they were?

Yesterday I wrote this post about Barack Obama’s latest anti-Romney, anti-Bain attack ad which was less than truthful about Mitt Romney’s roll as the head of Bain in the failure of GST Steel. The ad claimed that Mitt Romney played a very influential role in the policies which led to GST Steel going out of business, but at the time of the plant’s closure Mitt Romney had already departed Bain two years prior to the closing. On top of that it turns out that Jonathan Lavine, a major Obama bundler, was actually on the Board of Directors when the plant was forced to shut down.

Today on CNN, of all places, Ashleigh Banfield took the Press Secretary for Obama 2012, Ben LaBolt, to task for the misleading nature of the ad. When CNN takes a liberal such as Barack Obama to task for something it is truly newsworthy. Oh, how the mighty one has fallen.

  Here is the video:

The Obama campaign released a blistering new ad earlier today entitled “Steel” and in this ad Mitt Romney is lambasted for draining all the money out of GST Steel as he could before closing the steel plant down. Here is part of what one man in the ad had to say about Bain Capital:

They made as much money off it as they could and they closed it down, they filed for bankruptcy, without any concern for the families or the communities,” says Joe Soptic, a former steelworker. “It was like watching an old friend bleed to death

It is always heartbreaking when people lose their jobs and I am not downplaying this aspect of the story, but there is one small problem with the assertion made in the ad that Mitt Romney played an influential role in Bain Capital’s decision to close the company down–Mitt Romney left Bain Capital a full two years before the company was forced to close.

The ad is deceptive at best and disingenuous at worst as it tries to tie the GST closing to Mitt Romney knowing that most people won’t realize Romney was no longer associated with Bain Capital. But there was one man still on the Board of Directors of Bain Capital which the ad failed to mention. His name is Jonathan Lavine and he still has a prominent position with Bain Capital, and he just happens to be a major bundler for Barack Obama. Funny how he wasn’t mentioned in this ad, isn’t it?

I don’t listen to the nationally syndicated conservative talk show hosts all that much, preferring instead to listen to local talk radio programs, but I do usually tune into Rush Limbaugh at lunch for a few minutes to hear what he has to say, and I do put on Sean Hannity on the way home from work when Howie Carr is on a commercial break.

Rush Limbaugh is almost totally unpalatable because–when he isn’t too busy talking about himself or promoting his iced tea–of the way he revels in the bad economic news, and the joy he seems to take over the unemployment numbers while ordinary Americans are feeling the pain of those numbers is off-putting. And while I find Sean Hannity’s show to be more realistic and down to earth I find these two talk show hosts–and frankly, most conservative talk show hosts to be missing the larger issue.

From what I have been able to glean from my admittedly small listening sample of these two conservative talking heads it appears as if Limbaugh and Hannity seem to feel that all we have to do is elect Mitt Romney, or any other Republican, and all our prayers will be answered; the country will miraculously turn around, and we will be saved from the impending doom. I believe they either don’t understand the true depths of the economic calamity about to befall the nation or they are so blinded by party loyalty that they are purposely ignoring the truth and are touting what is best for the party but not necessarily is best for the country. I do not think it is a case of not understanding.

First, here is where they are right; if Barack Obama is reelected he will hit the gas pedal and drive us over the cliff at a high rate of speed leaving America burning in small little pieces on the ground below. But here is where they are wrong and what they are ignoring; while they believe that anyone but Obama would be a better option, the truth is that while Mitt Romney will ease off the gas pedal he will gently steer us over to the cliff before we teeter off. America will still be left burning in small little pieces on the ground below, the only difference will be the rate of speed at which we plunge over the cliff.

And the same is true for whomever the Republican nominee would be; the only man talking about making real cuts in spending, and not just slowing down the rate of future spending, is Ron Paul–and he is considered a kook for talking about real cuts–but even if he were to somehow win the nomination he will never get the support of the Congress needed to enact his agenda and we will still be headed toward the proverbial cliff.

This is where the problem lies, it is going to take more than one elected official to make the changes needed to stave of the economic meltdown, and I don’t see any way in the near future enough people will make it to Washington based on a truly fiscally responsible platform to make any difference because the people really don’t seem ready to hear the hard truth. We also have to change the entitlement mindset that has infiltrated a growing portion of the population and that is not going to be an easy task at this point. The mere fact that Ron Paul is considered a kook for proposing real changes shows us how difficult a proposition this really is.

America needs more than simply an alternative to Barack Obama if we are to survive, and that is what the conservative talking heads seem to be ignoring or forgetting; ridding ourselves of Barack Obama would be a fine start indeed, but if it isn’t coupled with electing a person who is willing to take a stand and put his political career on the line–the way Scott Walker did in Wisconsin–and unless it is coupled with a Congress serious about making the tough choices then it is all for naught. Again this leads back to the people; are they ready to give the reigns over to the type of people who will make the tough decisions even if it means a cut in government benefits?

Mitt Romney is not that person, he will bend to the polls on all issues because he has no core political beliefs, and quite frankly with the exception of Paul Ryan, I don’t think there is anyone in Washington who truly understands what will happen to the United States if we do not make serious inroads in the very near future at curbing our debt and our spending. Yet the conservative talking heads are speaking as if Mitt Romney is the answer to all of our problems and they are doing this based on the fact that he is not Barack Obama, not on what he stands for because nobody really does know what he stands for. Ann Coulter’s sudden conversion into becoming a Mitt Romney supporter is a perfect example of this; she vehemently opposed Mitt Romney and stated he needed to be stopped at all costs, until the day when she suddenly reversed course and basically called him the Republican savior and the only person who could turn this country around. This is where a person loses credibility and this is what is wrong with the conservative talking heads.

The conservative talking heads are trying to put a smiley face on this election because they want the people to rally around Mitt Romney and help him defeat Barack Obama simply because he is a nominal Republican. In doing so they ignoring the depth of the problem and all this does is help to mask the problem and we will all be worse off because of it. Any conservative who is being honest with himself cannot look at the Bush years and consider that period in our history to be a fiscally responsible time. Sure, the spending under Bush looks tame compared to the current regime, but spending has been out of control for many years and both parties have been responsible for it.

Until the politicians of the country get serious about this issue, and unless the people finally come to the realization that this level of spending is unsustainable, we will continue to head towards the cliff and the only question will be, who is driving the bus? Simply ridding ourselves of Barack Obama isn’t enough, and that is what the conservative talking heads are missing and that is why they are wrong.

Until we get our entire system under control we will continue down the same path. Many of our political leaders on both sides of the aisle have been corrupted by special interests and once elected the first thing they must do is repay the special interests for their loyalty or risk losing their support in the future, this naturally means that the people they are elected to represent take a back seat as the agenda of the special interests are pursued.

John Carey of Sentry Journal has written an excellent article entitled “What are conservatives trying to conserve” in which he talks about the ills of simply following one party because one thinks a certain party is the lesser of two evils. Here is how he opens the article:

Some time ago I wrote an article titled “I’m not the same conservative I was five years ago.“ In it I tried to explain my own evolution from being a conservative who blindly followed the establishment narrative to one who no longer was willing to give the establishment a free pass. I learned that big government statists were not limited by party affiliation. In fact many statists can be found in our own conservative party. I decided it was time to take off the party goggles and view the issues through the eyes of an American who loves liberty. It took some time and a great deal of reading to course correct my direction but when I did I realized how wrong I had been about many things. It made me take a hard look at myself and ask what I was trying to conserve as a conservative

By definition the lesser of two evils is still evil and John Carey gets this, and he has helped me to get this as well. Now if our politicians–and those talking heads who loyally support the politicians simply based on party affiliation–would get this we would all be better for it. The conservative talking heads are still talking about protecting the status quo, the only difference being which party is in charge of the status quo, and that simply isn’t good enough because that is how we got into this problem in the first place.

This is more than a fight between Democrats and Republicans because we have reached the tipping point in this country; this is a fight for the future of our country, for the heart and soul of America, to determine what type of nation we will be living in for generations to come. We need to return this country back to its founding roots, anything less will be the end of the country as we know it.

If you are like me you get a little emotional watching these videos and remembering how much these families sacrifice for us. Here is a video where the tables are turned on a Marine who is coming home from his deployment.

This Marine’s son is six years old and has cerebral palsy, the doctors told he and his wife that it was quite possible he would never be able to walk. Well, he learned to walk while the Marine was deployed but the family kept it a secret. Image the surprise when this Marine watched his son walk into his arms for the very first time.

The day after Barack Obama’s evolution on gay marriage the Washington post ran an article about Mitt Romney and how he beat up and cut the hair of a gay boy while he was in highschool. The problem with the article is that it contained false information about one of Mitt Romney’s friends whom the article claimed witnessed the event.

The truth was that Stu White–Romney’s boyhood friend–never even heard of the alleged incident until shortly before the Washington Post asked him about it, yet still the Post reported that White ”has long been bothered by the incident.” The Washington Post likely knew this was a lie, and when Stu White was interviewed by ABC News the Washington Post story began to unravel, but rather than come clean about their deceptive article the Washington Post decided to quietly edit the article in the hopes that nobody would notice.

People did notice and finally yesterday the Washington Post came clean to an extent when they put a note at the bottom on the article admitting the original story was edited and clarifying the deception. But the damage has already been done, on the heals of Barack Obama’s evolution the Washington Post tried to paint Mitt Romney as a gay beating homophobe and they did. That is why the note at the bottom of the article does not include an apology for the mistake; it was no mistake and the Washington Post is not sorry.

Elizabeth Warren’s claim that she is 1/32 Native-American, and thusly qualified to list herself as a minority on law school directories, has collapsed around her and it is now almost certain that she contains no Native-American blood whatsoever.

When this story first came to light and the genealogists started digging around to find the truth a member of the New England Historic Genealogical Society claimed he had found proof which showed that Elizabeth Warren was 1/32 Native-American because her great-great-great grandmother was part Native-American. Supposedly a marriage license application showed her distant relative to be part Native-American, but nobody has been able to uncover this document.

Elizabeth Warren immediately began damage control by claiming she knew she was Native-American because family members told her so, in fact these family members went so far as to claim Warren’s grandfather had “high cheekbones like all indians do.” This was supposed to be enough proof to quiet down Elizabeth Warren’s detractors but it only served to ignite the controversy.

The reason why the document cannot be found is simple, it does not exist because Oklahoma did not keep such records in 1894. It turns out that the New England Historic Genealogical Society was not siting the original marriage license application, but rather a family newsletter written in 2006, nearly twenty years AFTER Warren claimed she was a Native-American. Much like Elizabeth Warren used family folklore as proof of her heritage, so did the NEHGS.

With absolutely no legitimate proof to validate Elizabeth Warren’s claim it now seems all but certain that her whole family history has been fabricated and she used this fabrication to advance her career; even her excuse for listing herself as a Native-American (she claims she wanted to meet other Native-Americans) falls short because she never bothered to attend one event sponsored by the Harvard University’s Native American Program. If this were the true reason behind her deception it seems highly likely she would have attended events which had the purpose of introducing Native-Americans to one another.

Elizabeth Warren’s whole career has been built upon a lie and now she is looking to advance her career once again, only this time her lie might put an end to her career advances. How can the voters of Massachusetts trust another word this woman says after she lied about who she really was?

It has been known for quite some time that the mainstream media is nothing more than a propaganda arm for the Democrat party, that is not new, but what is new is the way the mainstream media has thrown away its journalistic integrity in recent days. It used to just be the case that there was a liberal bias to most of what was seen and heard in the mainstream media, and that was easy enough to deal with, but lately they have stooped to lying and falsifying evidence to push the narrative they wish to see advanced. And that isn’t so easily dealt with.

We first saw the most glaring examples of this during the Zimmerman/Martin fiasco down in Florida when, in an attempt to push a hate crime and anti-gun agenda, NBC, CBS, and CNN all were caught altering the so-called evidence in the case. All three stations eventually had to backtrack from their outright false reporting.

This appears to be the new journalistic standard being set by the mainstream media; create the story and the narrative then find the evidence to support it. If there is no evidence just make it up or help along the flimsy evidence you may have with a little embellishment if need be. And it appears as if the mainstream media has not learned its lesson–or simply doesn’t give a damn–from the Zimmerman debacle because here we go again.

This time the guilty news organization is the Washington Post.

Shortly after Barack Obama’s gay marriage flip flop the Washington Post ran a hit piece on Mitt Romney where they dragged up a story from his high school days in an attempt to paint him as a homophobe and a bully. It is interesting just how quickly the Post was able to come up with this breaking story so shortly after Obama’s evolution, is it not? It is almost as if the Post was coordinating the message with the Obama regime, but I am sure it is just another unbelievable coincidence and just a stroke of luck for the Obama regime as they look to divert attention away from his record. Right?

It turns out that the story wasn’t quite accurate and the Washington Post actually edited the original story once they got caught in a lie. There was no announcement of the edit and there was no apology for the mistake; the Washington Post tried to get away with hiding their error, but they were caught:

The original Washington Post piece stated the following:

“I always enjoyed his pranks,” said Stu White, a popular friend of Romney’s who went on to a career as a public school teacher and has long been bothered by the Lauber incident. [emphasis added]

  The problem with that statement?

While the Post reports White as having “long been bothered” by the haircutting incident,” he told ABC News he was not present for the prank, in which Romney is said to have forcefully cut a student’s long hair and was not aware of it until this year when he was contacted by the Washington Post

Mitt Romney’s buddy wasn’t even aware of the prank until the Washington Post told him about it, so how could he have been haunted by it all these years? (And by the way, he was contacted sometime this year by the Washington Post? How long have they been sitting on this story?) Here is what the Washington Post did next:

The article now reads:

“I always enjoyed his pranks,” said Stu White, a popular friend of Romney’s who went on to a career as a public school teacher and said he has been “disturbed” by the Lauber incident since hearing about it several weeks ago, before being contacted by The Washington Post. “But I was not the brunt of any of his pranks.” [emphasis added]

The Washington Post was caught in a lie while attempting to attack Mitt Romney on an issue which Joe Biden and Barack Obama thrust into the spotlight and they were caught, but instead of issuing an apology and admitting the mistake the Post simply tried to hide it as if it had never happened.

This is the latest example of how far the propaganda arm of the Democrat party will go in order to push a false narrative. There was a time when, while we knew what side they were on, we could at least believe the general idea behind the story was based on a truth and was simply spun to fit the agenda, but now we can’t even believe the general premise being reported on in the media because there is no integrity left in the media. The one and only goal they have is reelecting Barack Obama and if they will go to whatever lengths they feel are necessary.
