    Hi, I do not have a blog, but I stumbled upon yours the other day. My family and I live in New Jersey, but we have always thought that we might “escape” some day to a more conservative state with a lower cost of living. A friend of ours remarked that he had heard good things about New Hampshire, so my hubby asked me to do some research online…which is how I discovered your blog. From what I’ve read there so far, it seems to be that NH was once a great place to live, but recently has taken a turn for the worse. Still, it does not appear to have sunk to the level of socialist insanity we have here in NJ! You seem to share basically the same political views as us, so we would value your honest opinion regarding the situation there in NH. Would it be a good move? How is the quality of life, not just the cost? I would appreciate hearing from you, and perhaps corresponding. Thank you!

    Hi Donna, I love New Hampshire. I have always thought it was a great state and still do. I “escaped” form Ma. while I was a teenager before I even was interested in politics, and I follow Ma. politics closely also. We are in no ways even close to being in the realm of Ma. when it comes to politics.
    I believe the quality of life is very good. I live in a small town (population wise, area wise its pretty large) in Southern New Hampshire, just a few miles over the Mass. border. It appears to me that the more North you go, the more conservative the state gets. The towns bordering on Mass. tend to have ex-Mass residents looking to escape taxes, but still liberal leaning.
    I believe there are more job opportunities in the southern part of the state, but that is just my belief. I work in Mass., as many New Hampshire residents do.
    The north country is beautiful as is the lakes region.
    As far as Manchester goes, there seems to have been a recent increase in crime there. I don’t know if you are interested in living in a larger city or in the countryside, but Salem is a larger city that doesn’t seem to have a lot of crime, however it is very busy, and commercial.
    All in all I think New Hampshire is the greatest state in this region. We are still independent thinking in nature. And have relatively little government intrusion into what I call Nanny state policies. Although there have been recent new regulations on smoking and such.
    If you or your husband like to hunt or fish there are many spots to go. The outdoors is beautiful in the countryside.
    We do tend to go back and forth between Democrat and Republican governors, and we have had a definate shift to the left since last November. I believe we may go further left in the next election before we turn back towards the center. I am in no ways an expert, just an observer.
    I may( just maybe) sometimes go slightly overboard in my call to New Hampshire voters, I just want to change direction before we get too out of control.

    Let me know if there is anything in particular you would like to know, I am afraid this response may have just wandered all over the place.

    PS, don’t hesatate to come up here, we can use all the conservatives we can get. :)

    I stumbled upon your site while trying to find the whole New Hampshire 9/5/7 debate on video. Anyway, I can tell you are an intelligent guy and while reading your “about me” link I see that your two boys are young. I also have young children (15,10, & 9) so the invasion of Iraq is a very important issue for me. While reading your “about me” link I was pleasantly surprised to find that you and I seem to agree on every point you have listed without exception. So this brings me to my point…I too like the fact that Duncan Hunter has pushed successfully for border control and also to limit the Federal Government on where the money comes from to fund the NAFTA superhighway (which will surely change the face of the United States as we know it), but I’m not sure how you can not be a Ron Paul supporter? (yes, that is what I am) Dr. Paul seems to stand for everything you stated you do. I’d love to have a friendly open exchange of thoughts about this with you…

    Hi Jan, I just have a hard time getting past his comments about 9/11 in the first debate, they really bothered me. I agree with the of things he says about our constitution. He seems to be a true constitutionist, but I don’t believe I can vote for him. Please feel free to try and change my mind. I am going away this weekend so I won’t be able to respond to any comments until Monday.

    I am a 10th grade student at Winchester High School. I went to McCall Middle School for three years, with Evander French as my principal. I think you are completely out of line by saying Mr. French is “lying his ass off”. Anyone who knows Evander French knows that he is there being a principal at the Middle School because he really and truly wants to do the best things for his students. When I wanted to start a fundraiser to help the ASPCA help the animals from Hurricane Katrina, he was backing me up and encouraging me. If he suggests a field trip to see “Miracle on 34th Street”, then he is doing it for his students. And if he contradicted himself when writing to the parents of his students (and correct me if I’m wrong, but what buisiness is it of yours to be reading letters that a principal sends out to the parents of his students if you don’t have a child in the school?), then that was because he was trying to figure out a tactful way to tell the parents and students who were excited about the field trip that it was canceled. Winchester has a very competitive school system, even in the middle school, so if the administrators think that it is a treat for them to go see a movie, then who are you to object? So, why don’t you focus on the events that directly affect you instead of picking apart the rare administrators who are there in the school systems to help and benefit the children.

    Nina,
    First, this comment should have been posted under the article you are responding to. This section if for comments on my blog in general. Comments on particular posts belong with those posts, this will allow other people to see your comment and respond either positively or negatively to your comment. This helps to promote discussion. Please leave future comments on posts in the proper location or they will be deleted.
    Second, I found the email content online, so that means a parent released it to somebody, that somebody posted it on the internet which then puts it in the public realm. You would do well to remember this when posting on facebook or my space. Anything you post there can and will be used against you.
    Third, it is my buisness because the future of our country is at stake. I know you won’t fully grasp why I am saying that but someday maybe you will. By going to public school you are being indoctrinated into socialism and you don’t even realize it. Considering you are being taught to celebrate diversity you should start questioning why all displays of Christianity are being slowly but surely supressed. Does this sound like celebrating diversity? This political correct mindset you are being taught will be the downfall of this country.
    You are being taught that you are entitled to thigs from the government to which you are not, people need to work to get what they want, it is not up to the government to give it to them.
    Saying that the principal was thinking of a tactful way to tell the parents is just another term for spinning it to the parents, which is another term for lying to the parents.
    These are some of the issues that we face as a country, we will be beaten from within if we follow the politically correct path. The PC path is the path to destuction. So when I see issues that I feel are important to the country I write about them. When people are so afraid of offending people that they can’t even say Merry Christmas we have a problem. Political correctness is nothing but an attack on free speech. Political correctness is intelectual fascism.
    So yes, this issue does directly affect me and I will fight it until the end.
    PS, don’t use the benefit the children argument, that is a time honored tradition of liberals to hide behind the children.
    I hope you keep reading here, perhaps you will educate yourself in a way that is purposely lacking in the school system.

    Congressman Paul Kanjorski’s recent claims that he has been in the fight against illegal immigration much longer than Hazleton mayor Lou Barletta prompted me to examine his voting record on this as well as some other issues. And some of what I discovered is quite interesting. The following are just a few examples of his votes on the following House Resolutions:
    Bill Number: HR 5970
    -Continues to allow tax deductions for qualified tuition and related expenses by amending the date to 2007 (Sec. 201)
    Have kids in college? Like being able to deduct tuition costs from your federal income tax?
    Paul voted NO

    Bill Number: HR 4890
    Sought to give the President the power of the line item veto.
    Paul voted NO (Can you say Pork Barrel Spending?)

    Bill Number: HR 4579 A bill to cut taxes for married couples, farmers, students, and others, and to set aside a portion of the budget surplus for Social Security.
    I’ll be honest. Anything that takes less of my paycheck in taxes is ok with me. Paul voted NO

    Bill Number: HR 2436 A bill to adopt a substitute amendment that establishes a federal criminal offense for an individual whose assault on a pregnant woman interrupts or terminates the pregnancy.
    Seems reasonable to me. Assault a pregnant woman, do some serious jail time.
    Paul voted NO

    Bill Number: HR 3722 A bill that would require hospitals to provide information on undocumented immigrants seeking emergency medical care.
    Seems simple. Illegal alien goes to the hospital for free medical care, and unless the hospital provides the Department of Homeland Security with citizenship and employment records, the hospital doesn’t receive reimbursement from the federal government. Would also have sought to make the employer of the illegal alien responsible for paying the bill.
    Paul voted NO

    Bill Number: HR 4844 A bill that requires voters to provide a government-issued photo identification cards in order to vote.
    You know, like a drivers license. It’s hard to be an illegal alien voter without one.
    Paul voted NO

    Now to be fair I must point out that Mr. Kanjorski did vote in favor of tightening border security, increasing the number of Border Control agents, and a few other items related to illegal immigration.
    However, it is one thing to raise your hand and vote “me too” on a bill that you know will make you look good to the folks back home, and quite another to take a serious stand on an issue.
    Perhaps why that is talk of Lou Barletta running against him has him trying to do damage control. Maybe he has visited the http://www.louforcongress.com website.

    But I can’t help but think that Mr. Kanjorski has been a member of Congress for 23 years, and NOW he is going to hop on board this issue?

    Congressman, to use an old cliché, I’d ask you to put your money where your mouth is, but the last time you did that, you gave 10 million of our tax dollars to your nephews.

    Dear sir
    I stumbled accross your site via the search engine and I must say,based on the content so, far I agree in large part with you on may key issues. I do have some critique to give, in large because it is my social responsibility to do so. this is largely about balance and the merits of both parties both have redeeming features but both are fataly flawed. So if it is ageeable to you I would like to cover a few items and also state where I stand. First I would like to state my feelings and beliefs, I am, in many ways a deeply conservative patriot. I also am a student of history and for the last 30 years saturated my reading in early American history,as well as world history in general, I am alarmed at the tools BOTH parties are using in the battle for political control, as they fly in the face of Christian or even just basic democratic(not the party)ideology, and what I believe our founding fathers intended. As all parties are now using the following.. SPIN,.. FRAMING ISSUES,…(which I have seen mislead well intentioned people more times than I can count and is another form of dishonesty) POLARIZATION… (another way to keep logical debate on the merits of both parties from happening)(while mitigating the extremes we have seen) I cannot be a reasonable man and come to any other conclusion than that both parties have it wrong and have seperated myself from the Republican party and the Democratic party as I believe both to be fronts for a nests of thieves and corruption they seem to be pandering to greedy corporate donors to finance the election, then they in turn are beholden to the rich only and do not represent the american people in large part. They seems to either want to mismanage our economy or steal my freedoms bit by bit,or strip the soverieghnty of the United States. What is an American to do in the face of the failure of our beloved two party system,where are the checks and balances? Extremism seems to be the name of the game whether one is Liberal or one is Conservative. I look only to God for my guidance as the sight of both parties clawing at each other all day is enough to want to just put earplugs in and leave the room. but that is not the answer I know. My final word for now is for BOTH parties PLEASE no more political correctness,for my kids, and attacks on my right to bear arms, stop denigrating my Anglo-Saxon heritage in favor of any culturebut mine. Stop producing shortsided trade agreemants like NAFTA CAFTA and go back to the model our founding fathers used you would be suprised how much wisdom there is in that old writing and SO much is at stake…. God Bless America.

    I am a Viet Era Vet and my father was a combat wounded vet of WW2. 100% disabled in a B17 in combat over Germany..

    Bush is a betrayal of everything we ever believed in and proof positive that our nation could become fascist just like Germany did..
    When lies and half truths are mixed with fear and false appeals to patriotism to support a fake war on a country that never threatened us and imprisonment, torture and law breaking are condoned by the public in the name of security, then loss of freedom is soon to follow.

    Between 1789 and 1900, the U.S. Federal Government spent approximately $16 billion.

    Since 2001, the U.S. Federal Government has spent approximately $16 trillion.

    What happened to the noble ideal of a limited federal government?

    What are your thoughts on Ron Paul?

    In my humble opinion, he is the only candidate I can trust to return our nation back to its citizens.

    I only hope your blog doesn’t encourage more people to move to NH. Flatlander s need to know that the Conservatives in NH are more in line with Libritarians than the social conservatives elsewhere in the country. I think most New Hampshirites believe that religion is a private matter, not to be discussed in public anymore than their sex life.
    I believe that your views on homosexual marriage are homophobic. It’s a legal agreement between two consenting adults. and in. Marriage in a church is a different matter all together if they don’t want to perform services for gay couples then don’t.

    I recently found your blog from someone else’s link, and immediately enjoyed your writing. Please keep up the good work.

    Judging by your photograph you’ve reached the pinnacle of your career, and as a young Marine corporal I am just beginning mine. Thankfully, I am home this holiday for the first time in a long time, but because of this a sad loneliness has overcome me that I think men of our calling can only understand. I would gladly leave my opportunity to be home this Christmas with my family to go back to the sands of Iraq, just so long as my younger Marines could come home to be with their families. I guess that’s the kind of thinking that comes with leadership.

    I just wanted to wish you a very merry Christmas. These are, unfortunately, interesting times that we live in. I hope that one day our nation is able to breathe a sigh of relief from the terrible threat it is only beginning to face.

    I was looking around on your site today (since Hillary is stumping through New Hampshire at the moment) and I thought you may be interested in a site I just finished building.

    First, I did not decide to become what I am, people evolve over time. It was not a conscious decision.
    Second, it is not WHAT i have become, it is WHO I have beocme, by saying “what” you make it sound like I turned into some kind of monster. And judging by your comments, perhaps you do see me as a monster.
    Third, I don’t understand the phoney label you give me. Is it because I have not always felt the way I do now? If it is, then are men not allowed to change?
    Fourth, I go online and post my feelings to anyone who is willing to read every night, and my readership is growing, it is not always easy to post how I feel , but I do.     From your About page, it looks like we have several things in common. I used to vote reflexively for “Democrat” and thought not a whole lot about politics in between elections. I don’t think I knew any Republicans, although it’s quite possible that some of my friends were “closet” GOP members.

    The murderous attacks of September 11th, 2001 were a major wake-up call for me. One of the first things I did was to put a flag on my car. Not knowing any better, I was shocked by the negative reactions I received from Cambridge residents. Just about everywhere else in the USA, including most other towns & cities in Massachusetts, the Stars & Stripes were a call for unity, mourning, and determination. In Cambridge, however, sight of the American flag brought out the ugliest side of the Left: An attempt to place the blame on America for what was done to us by Saudi Arabian savages, and expressions of contempt for ordinary Americans whose patriotism was re-awakened.

    I felt like Rip Van Winkle, who wakes up one day and finds that everyone around him has changed. In an effort to get my bearings, I began to read books like The Road to Serfdom, Witness, We Were Soldiers Once, The Federalist Papers, Up From Liberalism, Conscience of a Conservative. I also began to find lots of kindred spirits in the Blogosphere: Belmont Club, Front Page Magazine, Eject Eject Eject, Little Green Footballs. By the time of the next election, I was a registered Republican. I am now a member of the Cambridge Republican Committee, and I am committed to making Massachusetts a 2-party state again by the time my son is old enough to vote!

    I am quite surprised that no one has discussed the egregious racial slur implied by Hillary Clinton’s recent campaign. Perhaps due to my background defending the civil rights of all Americans, I am sensitized to the techniques used by whites in many venues to put down candidates of color in ways that do not overtly seem to be racist.

    Looking at the question Hillary posed in the “3:00 a.m. question, I was immediately struck by the unspoken “profiling” obvious in this ad. Why 3:00 a.m.? Not enough experience to make a wise decision without time to consider the problem and contact advisors and pundits?

    No. The subtext of this strange question is that black males may not be at home and able to answer the phone with a cogent response. In what Hillary & Billary purport to be a straight-forward question, the Clintons are clearly back-stabbing Obama by playing on a negative perception of black males in toto.

    Will this machination be recognized for what it is; namely a bold-faced or at least a subliminal play to the thinly veiled racism that still runs rampant in the United States?

    If this is indeed a clue to Clinton’s ability to pull white rabbits out of hats, I hope that she is called to task for her manipulative campaign tactics. Should Obama play the race card on this issue? Probably not, due to his overall campaign marked by dignity and profundity. I do hope, however, that the press or a well-respected statesman will reveal and challenge Hillary’s dissembling tactics.

    Obama is real and knows, along with millions of other rational and change-hungry Americans, what “is” “is” and what “is” “ain’t”!

    I stumbled across your blog and noticed your uniform, so I decided to read your about me section. Besides drinking beer, toting a gun and driving a pickup, there is no difference between your views and mine. There is definitely no difference between your views and those of my family and friends, however most of them are black and constantly vote Democrat. I think perhaps if conservativism was portrayed as it really was as opposed to the media portrayal as an exclusive club of rich, old, fat men, many blacks would realize how conservative they really were. I don’t understand the democratic stronghold. Do you realize when the clintons visit churches like the church of god in christ, they are visiting not only one of the largest black church organizations. However, they are visiting a church that advocates abstinence, they are anti-abortion, anti secular music, etc. They are probably more conservative than the southern baptist. Yet the democrats are always pandering.

    btw, I added you to my blogroll a while back. Your blog is one of the few conservative blogs I’ve seen that tends to be more respectful and moderated. I’m sure there must be more, I’m still looking. Anyway, I like that you include information from which you based your opinion with your posts. I don’t always agree but you make lots of good points.
    I’m against the war in Iraq because its premise was false and misleading. I am against extremists in whatever form they may appear: Christian, Muslim, or any other flavor. I don’t think they should be tolerated. I’ve been thinking for years about where I stand on interventionist vs. isolationist policy. So that influences how I feel about war. I think religion is one of the biggest problems facing us because it influences our culture and politics in the US just like in Islamic countries. Here in Canada I’ve never heard any politician even mention God. I spent most of my life in the South and in church (sunday, wednesday, friday) until I went to university and had a more rigid, conservative, non-secular upbringing than most people did (I can recite chapters of the Bible!). For that reason, I am uneasy about politics and religion mixing based on what I’ve experienced.
    I am cheered to see the comment from ms.day above. It’s spot on. Many blacks ARE conservative.

    you’re right. It’s not just conservative blogs with out of control commentators. I don’t read comments on many blogs anymore because the remarks are just scary. I was reading a WaPo article this evening and just got fed up. It seems the anonymity of the internet causes people to forget manners and brings out the nasty side of most people.
    I admire the fact that you don’t stoop to the level of people who leave rude remarks on your site. People don’t have to agree with you but the least they could be is courteous and respectful.

    I am happy to find your blog. I have been apaulled by the discussion of limiting the speed of boats that are otherwise being operated safely on NH lakes. Unsafe operators who are the ones who threaten others can already be cited for a variety of reasons without a speed limit. Whatever happened to “Live Free or Die”?

    In New York City they have outlawed: guns, transfats, driving without a seat belt, smoking in most places, and they tried to prevent people from driving into the center of the city unless they paid a large fee. They are on the march to tell everyone what it good for them.

    I thought NH was where anyone could do his or her thing as long as they don’t harm others. If you let them restrict some people’s liberty today, they may be after your liberty tomorrow. We have to stick up for everyone’s liberty in order to protect our own.

    My first presidential vote was also the best president in the 20th century RWR. ( who also happened to follow the worst pres EVER )

    Read quite a few of the entries here and am ( like D. Gallagher ) about to leave NJ. The taxes here are a disgrace and socialist ( or Robin Hood ), but instead of NH our destination is South Carolina :-)

    That said, the main reason for the post was the inane comment about “extremists”. A christian extremist…. love your enemy? Do unto others as you would have done to you? But, I guess the worst would have to be, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul.

    Earlier this year I had a major operation for cancer. The operation and its after-effects were something of a nightmare. I felt I was a man unable to swim bobbing about under water in a deep dark endless ocean. But I did not drown and I am very glad to be alive. However, I found that to emerge from a personal nightmare was to enter an infinitely more pervasive public nightmare – the nightmare of American hysteria, ignorance, arrogance, stupidity and belligerence; the most powerful nation the world has ever known effectively waging war against the rest of the world. “If you are not with us you are against us” President Bush has said. He has also said “We will not allow the world’s worst weapons to remain in the hands of the world’s worst leaders”. Quite right. Look in the mirror chum. That’s you.

    The US is at this moment developing advanced systems of “weapons of mass destruction” and it prepared to use them where it sees fit. It has more of them than the rest of the world put together. It has walked away from international agreements on biological and chemical weapons, refusing to allow inspection of its own factories. The hypocrisy behind its public declarations and its own actions is almost a joke.

    The United States believes that the three thousand deaths in New York are the only deaths that count, the only deaths that matter. They are American deaths. Other deaths are unreal, abstract, of no consequence.

    The three thousand deaths in Afghanistan are never referred to.

    The hundreds of thousands of Iraqi children dead through US and British sanctions which have deprived them of essential medicines are never referred to.

    The effect of depleted uranium, used by America in the Gulf War, is never referred to. Radiation levels in Iraq are appallingly high. Babies are born with no brain, no eyes, no genitals. Where they do have ears, mouths or rectums, all that issues from these orifices is blood.

    The two hundred thousand deaths in East Timor in 1975 brought about by the Indonesian government but inspired and supported by the United States are never referred to.

    The half a million deaths in Guatemala, Chile, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Uruguay, Argentina and Haiti, in actions supported and subsidised by the United States are never referred to.

    The millions of deaths in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia are no longer referred to.

    The desperate plight of the Palestinian people, the central factor in world unrest, is hardly referred to.

    But what a misjudgment of the present and what a misreading of history this is.

    People do not forget. They do not forget the death of their fellows, they do not forget torture and mutilation, they do not forget injustice, they do not forget oppression, they do not forget the terrorism of mighty powers. They not only don’t forget. They strike back.

    The atrocity in New York was predictable and inevitable. It was an act of retaliation against constant and systematic manifestations of state terrorism on the part of the United States over many years, in all parts of the world.

    In Britain the public is now being warned to be “vigilant” in preparation for potential terrorist acts. The language is in itself preposterous.

    How will – or can – public vigilance be embodied? Wearing a scarf over your mouth to keep out poison gas? However, terrorist attacks are quite likely, the inevitable result of our Prime Minister’s contemptible and shameful subservience to the United States. Apparently a terrorist poison gas attack on the London Underground system was recently prevented. But such an act may indeed take place. Thousands of school children travel on the London Underground every day. If there is a poison gas attack from which they die, the responsibility will rest entirely on the shoulders of our Prime Minister. Needless to say, the Prime Minister does not travel on the underground himself.

    The planned war against Iraq is in fact a plan for premeditated murder of thousands of civilians in order, apparently, to rescue them from their dictator.

    The United States and Britain are pursuing a course which can lead only to an escalation of violence throughout the world and finally to catastrophe.

    It is obvious, however, that the United States is bursting at the seams to attack Iraq. I believe that it will do this – not just to take control of Iraqi oil – but because the US administration is now a bloodthirsty wild animal. Bombs are its only vocabulary. Many Americans, we know, are horrified by the posture of their government but seem to be helpless.

    Unless Europe finds the solidarity, intelligence, courage and will to challenge and resist US power Europe itself will deserve Alexander Herzen’s definition (as quoted in the Guardian newspaper in London recently) “We are not the doctors. We are the disease”.

    I was brought up to love and respect The United States Constitution by my Father. I thought most Americans felt the same way I did. Until I saw a blog on checkpoints and posted believes, and why I believe it. I stated that I was strongly opposed to illegal immigration but was opposed to checkpoints because of the fourth Amendment I also gave alternative enforcement ideas that would work better for law Enforcement like license plate readers. I pasted copy of Fourth Amendment with copy of Supreme Court Decision saying they found checkpoints to be a violation of the Fourth Amendment but they felt “The Danger of drunk driving” out weighed the violation of The Fourth Amendment I stated that I knew driving was a privilege and not a right but it was the detention with out probable cause I disagreed with because James Madison said the loss of freedoms would be gradual and posted James Madison’s letter and Quote Those who would give up ESSENTIAL LIBERTY to purchase a little TEMPORARY SAFETY, deserve neither LIBERTY nor SAFETY Ben Franklin and posted. People where calling me a Communist a Liberal, ACLU and so I was shocked. I am not soft on crime and believe in harsh punishments and protection of our borders without losing American Freedoms

    There is no way you can stand for my values while you support abortion on demand and same-sex marriages.

    I looked at the page that you gave me and all that I was able to come up with is the fact that the bill would have lowered the age of seniors and increase the prizes, I have done a serch on the internet and have not been able to come up with any more than that. I will keep looking though. I honestly hadn’t heard anything about this bill until you asked me. It mustn’t have gotten in the news too much here or I like to think that I would have seen it.

    interesting site I agree that the nation is in need of quality leadership but its sad that so many paople have become like baseball fans .To explain I am a New York Yankee fan and our enemy is the Red sox. Its a battle ,with take no prisioners its them or us! The democrats and republicans seem to have the same behavior. For a sport its fun , but when it comes to our nation and the importance of getting things done it s not. I support McCain but I don’t have to hate Obama to so so. he is a bright man and has many good qualites ,but his batting average is not what we need now. On the other hand president Bush has fought a good fight at times he has struck out, but he has also got key hits when we needed him too. those folks that hate him are blinded by the baseball fan mentality {hes the enemy} . No one is perfect no one bats 1000 , One other issue the religious fans they too have been hurting us as well . If one belives in this god or that or if in none at all ,it doesn’t matter . what does matter is that those that claim to be religious act the way theri gods have,not taking on the its them or us thing. the name god is form the german it simply means GOOD> to me good is when you act with kindness and compassion ,if you do that then your actions will give you the right battingaverage to get into the first team both in this life and the life to come.

    I do like your site, however I must say that I don’t agree with much of anything politically that you do. I too am a beer drinking, pickup truck owning, gun owning, construction worker from the great state of Virginia. I love my country, my dogs and my wife and two boys. My wife’s family has been here for 400 years. No kidding. We hate the carpet baggers who came into our state and ruined the economy. they build giant homes that will soon be the next slums in America. And we hate people who don’t have the common desency to say hi to you on the street.

    I just don’t understand why issues like abortion, gay rights, and immigration are so difficult.

    On abortion, if you don’t want one or think it’s wrong don’t have one, end of story. Get government out of the question. Don’t call it a states right or a federal right. At the end of the day people will have abortions that want to have abortions. They shouldn’t have to hide in the street corner and do it with a hanger, we are a better country than that.

    On gay rights, I don’t want my sons to be gay, I don’t want my friends to be gay, I don’t even want my TV news anchors to be gay, but guess what. It’s a free country here. If you want to be gay and live with your boyfriend I could care less if you want to be married. God bless you and don’t think I’m gonna ask you over to dinner ’cause I’m not.

    On immigration and the wall. I have a man who works for me from El Salvador. He thinks the wall is hilarious, ” In El Salvador we have airplanes.” he said. ” do you know what air planes are in America? They can actually fly over any wall ever built.” To think we will “solve” the immigration situation with a wall is as short sided as Bill Clinton thinking we won’t notice if he slips into the back room for a little nookie while in the oval office. There are some very hard working illeagals here who actually do contribute a huge amount to the nations economy. Likewise there are some bad ones who should be sent home yesterday. There are some very hard working Americans who are struggling now, but work is work,man. If we can’t compete with the mexicans now what makes us think we can compete with them in the future. Pull up those boots boys and go to work. the construction industry needs you badly. We are tired of learning spanish to talk to our work force but you know what they are working harder right now than we are so get over it and stop pretending that our government should send them all home or build a wall to keep them out. It ain’t gonna work

    Most people here think that Obama is the greatest. It’s sad that they really don’t know his voting history nor his liberal thinking.

    Hi, great site. I found it on a list of political forums, except there don’t seem to be any political discussion forums on your site. My question is this: I’m from Canada, and I have always had a romanticized idea that if I ever move to the States, it would be to New Hampshire. That probably comes from having once read “The World According To Garp”. Thing, is I’ve never been to New Hampshire, so my idea of NH may not fit with reality. I’m saying that, on account of what you wrote here:

    First let me say thank you for the compliment. This is just my personal blog so no, there are no forums here. This would be the place to leave a comment such as you did.
    Second, no, I moved from Massachusetts which has a socialist government such as you are used to, The problem with New Hampshire now is that too many people are moving here from Massachusetts and Vermont to rid themselves of overbearing government (as you enjoy in Canada) but are bringing their politics with them.
    If you want to move to New Hampshire I would suggest southern New Hampshire, that is where most of your socialist buddies would be located (that is also where I am located), the rednecks that you refer to would be mostly in the North country.
    Oh, and since when does having a drink or two and also practicing my second amendment right make me stupid and backwards. I would argue that someone such as yourself who would have no regard for the constitution as stupud and backwards.

    I’ve never understood why some of the most jingoistic, and dangerously patriotic Americans, are anti-government. I would think the two go hand-in-hand. Particularly when, the jingoists consider you “unAmerican” for going against the president in a time of war. And it looks like if it weren’t for your “overbearing government” bailing out the financial sector to the tune of $700 billion recently, your country would be competing with Zimbabwe for bananas right now.

    Beer-swilling, gun-loving, chest-thumping, yee-hawing “patriotic” Americans just make Canadians, and the rest of the civilized world, nervous. With good reason, I would argue. With McCain and Palin talking about bombing Iran, Pakistan, Russia, and whoever else that gets on the wrong side of their massive egos, what we’re worried about is on the pretext of “patriotism” and “love of country”, one of these days you war-loving, “victory-craving” yahoos are going to get us ALL killed. After all, I’m only a few hundred miles away from you, or NYC. Piss off some more arabs, and my worry is this time, they’re going to unleash a disaster that we Canucks won’t just be viewing on our tv sets, but will actually be affected by.

    It’s not that Americans are stupid, that bothers me. Because if anything, it’s entertaining to watch Americans constantly try to out-stupid themselves (ie. the Fox channel). It’s that they’re -dangerously stupid- that worries me. 9/11 happens and what’s the reaction? Go to war in Iraq. Even though it isn’t even a country that attacked the US, but an organized group of people who come from and operate from many middle east countries. The ultimate act of stupidity however, was following the stupidest leader in the history of the free world, when he said Iraq, not Afghanistan where Bin Laden was thought to be, was going to be the country’s new enemy for the 9/11 attacks (and using the flimsiest excuse for war ever given). Even I could tell at the time he gave the declaration of “war”, that Bush was totally lying about his reasons for invading. Yet very nearly your entire congress (with the mindless support of much of the country it seems), put whatever brains they may have had on hold, and for purely political / emotional (as opposed to smart or logical) reasons, voted to declare and fund a preemptive war on Iraq, without giving a shit about the UN or Bin Laden, said to be the mastermind of the attacks. It did nothing to secure your country, and only helped to bankrupt it. Meanwhile, Bin Laden must be laughing his arab ass off at “the stupid American pigs”, on his CNN feed. You are just as likely, if not more, to be attacked by terrorists today as 10 years ago. Your country hasn’t figured out yet that it will NEVER be able to stop all terrorist attacks. Which is why the best you can do is make nice with the rest of the world, even if it means kissing ass with the middle east, and stop being jingoistic dicks and provoking them. Especially now that they’re going “nukular”.

    Look, I don’t pretend I’m going to convince any American who thinks its his birthright to have as many guns as keeps him happy otherwise, any more than I would convince Yosemite Sam to turn his in. Or what the image of a beer-swilling, pickup driving, gun-toting, McCain supporting American railing against “socialists” says to the world about being “stupid and backward”. So I take back calling you stupid / backward for those reasons. I’ll try to be more reasonable and simply say that anyone who votes for McCain and Palin are “stupid and backward”. After all, here’s a pair who have lied about nearly everything they have ever said about themselves (or their opponent, for that matter). Including being “mavericks”, and being all for working-class “Joe Six Packs” and “Hockey Moms”. Never mind the “social” issues, they will take your money and gladly hand every penny of it to corporate America, to screw you over in the end (literally). Just as Bush has done. (It could be said, Palin is Bush with a bush). America is already the laughingstock of the world, after having elected Dubya twice over. I can’t imagine what would happen after another 4 or 8 years of this. I like the country, overall, as far as visiting is concerned. But as for living in America, the ugly political character of Americans just scare the hell out of me. Hell, I’ve never figured out why “liberal” is a bad word, and how the idea of unity and helping each other out is only a desirable quality when a hurricane hits.

    I am the Proud Mother of Spc Michael L Gonzalez killed in Iraq on 8/28/2008, fighting for the safety of the children there because the parents are weak. and need our help. As our own children lose their lack of respect for themselves right here in our very own proud to be American country. I laughed when I read your “about me” because I agree with most of it. Why should the goverments spend money to make laws. When God gave parents that job to raise them and love them teach them to respect their elders. I think it is called Social Science thats the start. Why do we have to keep up with the Jones? My father was a smart man he said he only things you need to do in life are die and pay taxes. I have so much to say and I am working on getting it all out. God has put the right people in my life. My husband says I cannot change the world but at least I can try to help one child at a time. My eyes, ears and heart is open.     I found your blog quite by accident, but I will be returning frequently. I appreciate your honesty, and agree with your viewpoints. You state them clearly and succinctly. It’s been difficult to stay informed lately, with the media openly in Obama’s pocket. I have never been so uneasy about the possible direction of our country. I could have easily become disillusioned years ago; in my very first election I voted for Richard Nixon in 1971 (having just turned 18 in Sept. before the election). But I realize that it is the common sense of conservative citizens that don’t give up who help to balance our moral compass. Thanks for the time and effort you obviously put into your site.     Manage recession do not hive off people

    Let us say u r a corporate/organisation and going to retrench people today or in immediate future.

    Here is a way to save job/life of many people

    1.Assume u r going to hive off 100 employees today which u think willl result in to cost saving for the organisation of certain amount.

    2. Call all the 100 person tell them the truth and offer them 50% salary cut and 50% variable annual performance bonus if they are ready to change their KRA and ready to commit more revenue then currnet one.

    3. In such case retain 50 best employees out retrenchment of 100 choosen.One can apply various tools even in retaining the 50 like their past history, past achievement track record, behaviour,ability to deliver in crisis. One can set a revised KRA/goals for such excersize.

    4. I think such approach can save life of many plus both organisation and employees will go for better performance,better revenue and will innovate a lot. I think this is a win win situation rather then mass job cuts to cut cost.

    I would like the decision makers to comment and will be happy atleast those who implement the above can post their comment rather then they cut jobs.

    There are even something for those who have lost job recently. They in their CV/Bio-data can indicate that they are ready to work for 50% of their earlier pay package(last package drawn by them) and ready to get balance 50% by variable pay as performance bonus. Those who have been performance oriented and likes challance will certainly be successful during this recession period. and your chances of getting a new job is much higher then others.

    What a concept hari64. here is my idea for the recession. Help take care of your own town, in my town there are 8,000 people and if everyone donated a dollar a month that could help alot of people, as long as those people are trying to help themselves. Don’t be afraid to go to goverment agencies. Why because if we werent in a recession they wouldnt have jobs. I have already helped my town the Spotswood Shop Rite has $1,300 dollars to donate to the CUP our food bank in Spotswood, plus tons of food. They have also made the first saturday of every month a food collection for the CUP, in the honor of my son Spc Michael L Gonzalez. for as long as Shop Rite is here in town. All I did was ask and let them know that there are food banks right here in my hometown of Spotswood 47 years and proud to be a resident.

    You are EXACTLY right. Marriage is a religious institution. And what YOU believe and what anyone else believes is not the same. Therefore, if my religion believes in marriage between a man and man, then who are you to say that it shouldn’t be?

    The REAL issue is government overstepping it’s boundaries and defining marriage for religion. Each religion must define what marriage is for it. The government has no place defining religious institutions.

    I don’t “like” gay marriage, but I must respect their beliefs as people in the country. That is what America was founded for.

    I don’t believe in the welfare state, I believe if you eliminate welfare it would force people who don’t want to work for a living to go to work. This in turn would make less jobs available for the illegal immigrants and they would have to go home.

    OK, IDEALISTICALLY, THIS IS A GREAT IDEA, HOWEVER, REALITY IS THAT DURING “NORMAL” TIMES WHEN REPUBLICANS WEREN’T DESTROYING THE FREEWORLD, UNEMPLOYMENT HOVERED AROUND 4%. AND THE OPEN JOBS WERE MOST FOR EDUCATED PEOPLE IN MEDICAL FIELD OR HIGHLY TRAINED POSITIONS THAT REQUIRED A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF FORMAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING. THEREFORE, THE TYPE OF WORKS THAT YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT WOULD HAVE NEVER APPLIED FOR AND THE PEOPLE WHO QUALIFY FOR WELFARE COULDN’T GET HIRED FOR.

    Some good news to report – so far over 16,000 people have signed a petition demanding Rahm Emmanuel refuse his selection to serve as Obama’s Chief of Staff in light of his involvement in the Obama Senate seat corruption scandal.

    Do you notice that NOT ONCE was ANY consideration as to who would best represent THE PEOPLE but instead was all about who would be most politically ideal for Blagojevich or Obama!?!

    I was fired after 23 years of service from IRS in Fresno, Ca. on August 22, 2009 for taxes owed for year 2004. The reason was that I did not report $2,904 of income and $390 of withholding from a 1099. This resulted in a tax owing of $485. The 1099 was attached to my return with another 1099 that was for more money and was subject to the self employment tax. The SE schedule was attached and the SE tax was put on my return along with the income from the 1099.It was an HONEST MISTAKE and was not intentional.
    Well the IRS Director did not see it that way and therefore I am receiving $124 a week on unemployment. I was off for two years with a hip injury, back injury, torn kneecap, tendons torn in my wrist from a fall at work (IRS) in August 30, 2006. I returned to work on April 28, 2009 using a wheeled -seat walker and splints on both wrist with a limitation of typing 15 minutes per hour only. I had knee surgery and have to have injections every six months for life, my hip is still injured and my wrist still needs surgery. I stopped using my walker so that I would appear normal to apply for jobs and took off the splints. I walk slowly so that I do not fall because I now limp. Why does Timothy Geither get to have this job as the HEAD OF IRS when he owed taxes of over $48,000 and I was fired for owing $485? Can President Obama or the committee that is approving his appointment answer this for me. Really FAIR IS FAIR. HE should lose his appointment per TITLE 5 CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS PART 752, STATES “because in order to promote the efficiency of the service according to Title 5 Code of Federal Regulations. Part 752. , Section 1203(b) (9) of the Restructuring and Reform Act of 1998(RRA98), his conduct violates a provision of other laws, rules, or regulations, including Section 2635.809 of the Office of Government Ethics (OGE), Standards of Conduct which states that employees shall satisfy in GOOD FAITH their obligations as citizens, including all just financial obligations, especially those such as Federal, State, Local taxes that are imposed by law. This is what IRS states when they fire employees if they owe taxes, so WHY doesn’t this apply to the HEAD OF IRS

    Wouldn’t it be great if all of the former IRS employees who were fired for owing taxes wrote to Obama and asked for their jobs back ,do you think Obama would forgive all of us for an HONEST MISTAKE and re-employee us. That would lower the unemployment rate in many states and he would look good,be a hero and ullfill part of his promises to create jobs. No that would be to easy.

    Thanks for including the article titled ’650 Scientists Question Man-Made Global Warming’…. at a global warming conference no less! Another 17,200 scientists signed a petition where they believe the current available data does not support global warming as anything but a natural cycle.
    It appears the fear mongering was a fund raising ploy and a means to increase fees, taxes and control the unruly masses.
    I expect someone will come up with a creative way to blame us for the ice now thickening in Canada and slowdown in solar activity.

    I just tuned-in to your blog. Blogs are new to me — finding my way about how things work, the etiquette, etc.

    I read your profile, Who Is Mr Pink Eyes, and I’m impressed. I’m a conservative libertarian. I think we libertarians and you conservatives have a lot more in common now than we ever did before, and we should associate and communicate more.

    I agree with most of what you said you believe in, with reservations only in so far as might well exist between you and another conservative, that is, as far as the differences that exist between any two individuals, even of the same self-described label.

    I wish you and your blog well, in all respects. I expect to tune in from time to time.

    I absolutely love your website. Thank you for creating it. I have attempted to get into the blogging world but have been atrocious at keeping it up, fresh and original, so I am turning to other places to post comments and questions. I wanted to pose a question to you for your, or anyone else’s, perspective. It’s clear to me that Obama is systematically dismantling our economy and sneaking in executive orders and bills for Senate rubber stamping that will bring he and the Democrats to complete and permanent control of the country in every way. And we’ve lost all hope of Republicans standing up for and fighting for conservative principles if Michael Steele is any example of that party’s leadership, which makes me REALLY worried about the races in 2010, which I see as the milestone that will dictate whether there’s any hope for this country. I love the blogs and I love the internet community of conservative writings and thinking, but how does this come together in a way that enables us to stop this madness? I try my best to boil issues down to bare bones for those people I meet that aren’t completely Obama-ized (I feel they are beyond hope), but how do we as a collective group get through to those people that “are too busy” to really dig into these issues and understand them. At a minimum I try to get these people to sign up for the Morning Bell from The Heritage Foundation. My thought is that if they really knew what was going on under the covers here, they’d get fired up. I just have to believe that. Any perspectives would be appreciated. I have four kids under 5, I am worried sick about their future, and I am struggling with how I can make a difference for them beyond ranting on my pathetic blog. Thanks, in advance, for responding with your perspectives.

      I think that by the time 2010 rolls around that many people will have seen what this guy is really about. I do think that the election in 2010 will go our way, maybe I am just an opitmist.
      I am not sure how we can coordinate the message, I too have reservations about Michael Steele, or at least the start that he got off to. I just hope that the bloggers are able to attract enough people and we are able to get the message out there. I think as Obama continues down this path more and more people will turn to the internet to see what the reaction is.

    Denise, I understand how you feel, especially with young children. The senate just passed HR 1388 which is Obama’s youth corps (deceptively called the “give” act) Buried in the law is a consideration to make the volunteerism mandatory. A massive wilderness bill was also just passed which will lock up more of our resources (or give them to China?) Another bill moving quickly through the house will make it difficult to have home gardens or livestock without government intervention. The billions for education I suspect will mandate some form of indoctrination that will go well beyond being forced to watch ‘An Inconvenient Truth’. Europe is aghast at our reckless and frantic spending. The US wage earners are wringing their hands while the deadbeats gleefully have their hands out.
    Acorn appears to be Obama’s mini mob with bus loads being dispatched to intimidate those who publicly question the messiah. They have become part of the census for a reason. This is clearly an administration with questionable intent for our country.
    The 9-12 project is a start. The now have a membership of around 250,000 very concerned citizens. My small contribution is to get on every news comment section (esp Alaska where they are trying to destroy Palin) to counter the propaganda of the thousands of left wing paid bloggers. Your local paper is a start.
    Your ranting is more important than you think . Your kids future is at stake here. I’m glad mine are now old enough to run for their lives.

    Another good thing is to support states rights in the 34 states who have introduced legislation and those who are considering it. It’s possible that the Obama administration is looking for a loophole to stop states rights so time is of the essence. I sincerely hope accepting the stimulus funds didn’t have any clause taking away states rights. If not, states have a chance to stand up to this oppressive and destructive government.

    This looks to me like a hostile take over of our beloved country by power hungry spend-o-holics. I don’t know why New Hampshire lost its way and its marbles , to let the spend and waste liberals brainwash every one into believing a direction against theor freedom and common sense.

    This euphoric drunken stupor congress is in, wasting today by using up tomorrow, is frightening.

    I think the voting public has gone soft and is mesmerized with some sort of solidarity against rationality and effort, in the hopes that a victory can be achieved over actually earning their value by effort in exchange for Utopian idealism on the back of political leverage .

    America used to be based on a work effort that your value was yours to create and maintained with your value to society. That is being erased daily by an all out effort by organized groups that want more of the pie than they put in, and the method of political extortion to create value has become all too common.

    This is what the democrats and other socialists bring to our fair land, this is to be feared as they have the public sympathy. How did Germany fall for Hitler? Look around you…there is a glassy eyed numbness that permeates the land and corruption and lies is having its day.

    The Communists dressed in liberal overcoats are everywhere and destructive forces have stained the fabric of America all around us. If we do not fight and stand for America, or New Hampshire or anywhere else, we have accepted the defeat that socialists all around this country have been programing our youth to accept.

    Every one in America has got to draw a line in the sand, and especially the voting booth and start thinking of their country and not their party. Incumbents must go and fresh new people have got to be backed. Every aspect of our way of life is threatened by budget over reaching and social engineering promoted from childish desires to be insured protection by the government.

    As it stands America is facing a temporary financial set back that is being fostered into a permanent generational debt and enslavement toward Washington ideals not the American individual. We are heading toward a time of political extortion where value of the individual is being transgressed to enhance the ideals of one group. This is not our founding principles nor the ones that have made us greater ideal to promote until now. What we do at this moment on, will define our future and our children’s freedom or servitude to the state.

    People have got to stay awake on this.
    Power given over to the government to insure self preservation is always abused.
    We as a nation will survive as a free people only if we fight for people who will limit government power not enhance it.

    The liberals are no longer the consciensious objectors to stagnating ideas and principles,
    they are the established power and using it like an ax to take away our heritage, our liberties and our children’s chances to be free with mounting debt and stifling, servitude to the overlords style social engineering.

    Where ever you go you will need to make a stand. NH welcomes principled people, at least I do.

    Hello George,

    I’m not “the” Steve, but can give you some insight. As a 23 year resident of Massachusetts, but now a South Carolinian, I can tell you that it is a better way of life here.

    Ronald wrote “Don’t run but do find a place to stand and fight”, but I don’t look at it as running, rather fighting from a different, much more pleasant location.

    South Carolina has an interesting mix of moderates on both sides of the fence. Contrary to what the liberal extremists will paint as a state full of right wing extremists, it is not — in fact, that is a complete fabrication. The people here believe in individual rights and freedoms. They are also more socialistic on some fronts than any liberal will ever admit. The moderate conservatives and moderate democrats here are very generous and giving people, who will do whatever they can to help their neighbors. They don’t ask for a person’s political ideology before extending a helping hand — they just help.

    Another thing that surprised me was that the amount of racism and bigotry here is far less than in New England. The liberals “say” they want diversity, but they only tolerate it if said diversity adheres to their political views. Blacks and Hispanics in Massachusetts were treated terribly if they voiced any non-liberal political views.

    Unfortunately, there is a very vocal minority of extreme left wing liberals who are here to cause as much disruption as possible. They appear to be very well financed, but I am not sure where the money comes from. They antagonize and do their best to divide people against each other. It is not subtle in any way. They use intimidation and violence same as the unions do if some member speaks against a union directive (a strike, etc). These are hardcore liberal extremists, and in my opinion they are funded by sources outside America. I have no proof, but I met a couple of them. They don’t work, but they post to various blog sites, craigslist, etc., incessantly. Their hateful drivel is clearly intended to divide people against each other. I know some folks will say I’m paranoid, but I am observant and patient, and believe beyond any doubt that it is happening. The DHS report of left wing extremists using “cyber space” as their next battleground is on target. It is already happening.

    Anyway, if you are seriously considering a move, you should plan a vacation to South Carolina. The “upstate” is a beautiful and friendly location. The people are very nice, and the scenery, albeit quite different from the quaint charm and beauty of the mountain villages of Vermont, is beautiful nonetheless. Within a short distance the mountains of western North Carolina are majestic, to say the least. The climate is mild, utility costs are significantly lower, food costs are lower, and housing is dramatically lower cost (hence associated property taxes are much lower).

    If you have children, you will find the public education system here is not as good as in Vermont — but it depends on what town you are in to a large degree. There are ample private schools here, to make up for the difference. While Vermont is in the top 10, South Carolina hovers around #26 most years, clearly “average”. However, the statistic is somewhat misleading because of the way the urban areas are handled (very sub-par, unfortunately). They, as in many states, have been overrun by liberals who believe if you throw enough money at a problem, the solution will magically occur. The small towns in South Carolina are far better than the cities of the state. That same fact is reflected in crime rates, where the high crime rate of the cities makes the state rate appear higher than it really should be. The small towns do not have those problems.

    South Carolina is not perfect. I don’t know of any state that is. But I have lived in the states of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Iowa, Texas, New Mexico, Massachusetts, North Carolina and South Carolina, and I have traveled all 50 states. South Carolina is as good as any, in my opinion, and the people here are second to none.

    Good luck with your decision, no matter where you land. America is still a great nation, and with some teamwork we can bounce back to the pinnacle of greatness of yesteryear.

    I just stumbled on the site while looking up some of Obama’s policies, and its refreshing to see that some people do call it like it is based on facts and common sense. I like your take all the issues you address and agree with a lot of it. Im a Mass resident, so I really cant get two words in when talking about politics, as mostly everyone I know is a very liberal. As a mid to low income worker, Ive worked had for everything I have. From Obamas venture into the free market, to the administration calling our soldiers, our protector, threats to our country, its all very disturbing. Keep calling it like it is and thanks for the read.

    I posted earlier in response to your “it’s time to take back the government”, not realizing that your intention was to return it to The People, not the Republicans — now that makes much more sense! And I apologize for posting on your blog without doing my homework first.

    I don’t agree with some of your positions — e.g. seat-belts (here I’m pro-life) or Roe v. Wade (here I’m pro-freedom (ain’t life ironic?) — but I like your easy manner, honesty, humor, and courtesy — yes, even to those crass and totally unhelpful hit-and-runners.

    Frankly — if I’m understanding your positions correctly — I’m not sure how realistic it is at this point to go back to a hands-off, anti-federalist, sink-or-swim America, as intertwined as the states and central government are at this point, and as dependent as so many people are on ‘hand-outs’. I fear that far too many would sink like a stone and end up in shanty towns on the edges of our cities, like in Brazil ! But, then again, maybe not — babied people definitely become more helpless (vide ‘Big Babies’ by Brit author Michael Bywater) , so maybe the reverse is true too. And SOME ‘bold experiment’ that would be, eh!

    Good luck with your mission, although I suspect that your best bet might be to get New Hampshire to secede from the Union, and build your perfect society there. And who knows, I might even come join you if Obama turns out to be a pied piper leading us all to our doom…… But you’ll have very sensibly built your own protective wall by then!

      Thanks Pete,
      I can be pretty crass myself once in a while. :) It is hard being an anti-federalist constitutionalist but that is kind of where I find myself. The goal of states rights is not realistic as you said, so then I would prefer constitutionalism, as a meand to limited government. The anti-federalist founders were afraid that what is happening today is what would happen. And I don’t just mean with Obama, it has been a gradual process.
      As for New Hampshire, we recently had a bill to reafirm state sovereignity under Jeffersonian principles in the state houe. It was beaten down handily.

    Don’t you understand? Pelosi has to go to allow the “right” socialist to be in that seat when the time comes for what inevitably will happen. Steny will be next in line. If the left didn’t get Nancy out of the line of succession by this particular issue, it would have been something else. It all has to happen before Obama’s huge popularity goes down much further because they want to hold him up as a great leader when they blame it all on the conservatives.

    I think the power in washington corrupts all who go there so the parties are shapping themselves to attract that corruption, which makes them two sides of the same coin.

    I believe the first victory has to be at the state and local level and grasp the conscience of americans before they lose their country to the socialist endoctrination that is upon us.

    Who voted for open borders, who voted for illegals to have a free pass on financial responsibility, who votes for devaluating those that toil to be given away as a political favor to some group that has gained the ear of washington, and who in their right mind has voted to cost their kids their earned value by allowing washington to bail out the rich investors and companies so Congress could hide behind its charade and keep the laws in place it secured to make its friends wealthy??

    What American has turned away from defending his children by not defending his country over some lame social advantage over another mans rightfully earnedvalue. Never do I hear the voice of reason as these cowards weilding power over others tear up families and destroy the value of the toiling masses to enslave a country to a political will chosen by those in power and not by the people.

    The clowd of socialism is taking away the value of the silent majority as we speak and the hope of beating back this mind set needs to be address with your children and at the local level. Each town has got to be heard, and every state has to be won back by voices being heard. Maybe not a call to arms but certainly a call to speak out.

    There are too many educators speaking the praises of Socialism and lying about capatalism with no challenge in public. We must become that challenge if we are to win our country back. Otherwise prepare for political coercion to be the rule of law, and silence to be a necesary skill .

    I agree with you, both parties are looking a whole lot alike. My father has always told me that a poltician, no matter the party, has only one job once they get elected: get re-elected, and the people be damned.

    I honestly think a new political party needs to either be formed, or re-shaped around conservative priniciples, values, and freedom. Not one that sneaks in drug legalization, or other pet projects, but a party that doesn’t want enough planks to make a deck out of the Atlantic Ocean. We need a party that believes in the Constitution, the military, national security, freedom, liberty, and all the things that America once stood for.

    Sounds like the same old Union of North America all over again. It is a foolish proposition. The wealthy would hoard the “new” riches, while the middle class of America would inherit the cost of 100 million Mexicans who would expect/want free health care, welfare and immunity from prosecution for crimes. For generations they have existed where the accepted way of life is to bribe public officials to get what one needs/wants. That would not change — at least not in the immediate future. We have enough trouble with corrupt politicians without adding fuel to the fire.

    And you claim “the border IS the problem”, but that is an absurd and unthought premise. The world is full of boarders, including all the state-state boarders within America. The boarder is NOT the problem — PEOPLE are the problem. Lack of resolve in defending the boarder is the problem. Giving illegal aliens a false promise is the problem. Why should they be granted all that they are granted when millions from other nations are not? It is unfair, and is the result of corrupt politicians seeking advantage.

    America has established procedures for immigrating into our nation. Millions of people legally follow[ed] those procedures. Now, because a bunch of bleeding-heart corrupt and self-serving politicians decide, in their infinite wisdom, that we should simply open the door for the southern boarder, we have a great burden that we can ill-afford.

    Your proposition is unfounded, and is foolish. It would harm the average American citizen beyond repair.

    If Mexicans want “our” way of life (which they don’t really — else they would work to learn English and assimilate; but most do NOT) — they should rise up and change their OWN government. It’s what people do when things are not just.

    Hear, hear Steve. Well said. I, for one along with millions of others, am tired of the errosion of this once great country and the principles upon which it was built. I have great hopes for the American Conservative Party but am afraid that that route will be too slow and tedious which will cause it’s ultimate failure.
    If we do not take immediate and drastic measures to restore our system, then I am certain that we will see the next civil war.
    As for Mexico, their complacency and lack of ambition or desire to take back their country is their reward and speaks the the character of the people in general. And that is not the character that will benefit us as a Nation. It is not unjust to preserve our border but quite the contrary. It is the solemn duty of our government to preserve our borders and our national sovereignty, as well as our state sovereignty. To dissolve the border with Mexico would be a grave injustice to the American people that have worked to build this country, those that serve to protect us and to the Mexican people as well. Sometimes,quite often actually, tough love is all that has a lasting effect. It is not love to continue enabling the lazy and the dissident to leach off of society, it is far better, far more just, to allow them to suffer until they actually take an active role in providing for themselves. There is a difference between charity and total support. Charity helps those in need to better their lives and become self sufficient. Total support enslaves and oppresses self sufficiency. No culture has ever befitted from another providing for them to the point of dependency, they only become more dependent upon the first and eventually slaves, in reality if not in name. You are not free if you have to depend upon another to provide for you, nor are you free if you allow the government to force you to provide for someone who simply will not provide for themselves. And on that note, charity is freely given not forcibly taken, ie tax.
    If the French could reclaim their country from tyrants, then why can’t the Mexicans?

    How is it that there are still people who believe a border is causing the distress.

    People that do not respect borders do not respect other people, removing the border would not suddenly change that.

    How is it that people of knowledge always assume that the enforcer of safety, concern tolerance and constitutional protection is always in the wrong and some sudden shift in human nature and its devious practices will suddenly wash away when those defenders lower their guard???

    Life has borders of respect, morality and concern. When those borders are not enforced, supported or maintained then nothing keeps out the aggressor. Do not mistaken immigration violation as an act of casual dis-concern. It takes an aggressor to break laws and to hide from their responsibilities. No person of concern for their children’s safety would ever acknowledge that the path of a border less society is a safer one.

    The people who keep promoting no borders are the same ones stealing other’s value to gain their position of higher morality at the sacrifice of the innocents that get consumed in the wake of illegal immigration and the lawlessness it is spawned from.

    I for one am not willing to trade my values so some liberal can feel good about some non committal type politics so that words and excuses can be laid upon the public for the ineptitude of the next failed impotent idea that come along.

    It takes a backbone to preserve liberty.
    It takes respect and a willingness to address that with concrete ideas and methodology to maintain it. If we can’t get INS off their fat butts they should be eliminated and the borders should be made physical in every way including at the airports.

    If America can’t stand for itself it will be mired down by the politics of corruption until it fails.

    Let me just interject a premise. The government in its currents state is in opposition to all ten Commandments. So with calculated good reason they are not going to enforce any thing that resembles a border, a respect of them or desire to create an environment that doesn’t put them in the seat of judgment of all things.

    The philosophy laid down by the Bible does enlighten one to the awareness men have had of tyrannical leadership and its aims. We are being oppressed with a methodical demise of our true freedoms and liberties that our forefathers annunciated so well at the hand of a government bent on deceiving and stealing all that isn’t theirs to take, because they themselves don’t believe they were endowed by God.

    Their actions have been totally to obscure your independence and to steal power from the masses. We are in trouble. No political party is there, in present form to deflect the onslaught that has begun with an American College system sustained rhetoric and desire to subjugate the minions under intellectual supremacy by a said group.

    Our government is completely off on a tangent of self proclaimed defiance of our once sacred defense of Gods true gift of self independence and respect of each others liberties and freedom. They are on a path of consolidation of power over the people and taking away the constitutional protection with every move they make now.

    The people must act or we will become a country based totally on political coercion and deception, like the countries we have apposed in our short 250+ year existence.

    Why do you always assume that comments posted here were done so without reading the drivel posted at your blog?

    I read your “Dissolution Solution”, and then I read it again. Trust me: you’re no genius.
    I thought about the content; but at every turn I could not help but believe it is rubbish. You come across as being on a MAJOR ego trip, promoting your self-proclaimed Excellency title more than the so-called “solution”, which in fact is absurd.

    You seem to believe that people should give you credit for something, and that if they disagree, then it means they didn’t really read your drivel.

    You claim “The border IS the problem”, which is itself like a statement straight out of the Twilight Zone. I’ve listened to Alzheimer’s patients that made more sense than you. You’re the person who says “They just want to help us.” about the aliens who carry the book “How to Serve Man”, and deny that it’s really a cookbook even while they are feasting on those around you.

Mexicans have had the same opportunities that Americans had for the past 400 years — what have they done with those opportunities? Their nation is a disgrace among the nations of the world, with but a mere handful being worse. To advocate a partnership with such a nation is blatantly anti-American, in my opinion. It would be akin to asking Sweden to partner with Somalia. The incompatibility is virtually infinite. A partnership of such kind would break down both partners, rather than build a strong team.

    You assert that people who speak against ILLEGAL ALIENS are xenophobic — a pathetic slur. I see no great effort to impede the legal immigration of Hispanic people — it is the ILLEGAL immigration that people are opposed to; and rightly so. If we had the same flood of illegal aliens from any other country coming here and abusing our systems and perpetrating the percentage of crime that the illegal aliens from points south do, the outcry against them would be equal. For you and your ilk to cry “xenophobic” is a worn out diversionary tactic. Everybody with any sense at all knows it to be a falsehood.

    Think about this:

    Americans openly accept peoples from virtually every nation on the planet. Hispanic people are NOT any less welcome. For you to profess that they are less welcome is an insult to honest hard-working Hispanic people. It is the same strategy as changing the term “illegal alien” to “undocumented citizen”, which is now the phrase of choice in so many “sanctuary” cities across the nation (which, by the way, are suffering greatly as a direct result of the influx of illegal aliens who are criminals).

    Everything is worthy of debate and nothing should ever be taken as so genius that it not be rejected on its mere premise that it discounts what it calls prejudices, which just may be natural human justifiable defenses of the risks involved.

    I could find more people like you. You even figured out that
    Winslow is win plus slow. Guess what, that’s the opposite of

    Let’s examine your article, which I read 12 times :)

    My assertion that the border is the problem is like the To Serve
    Man episode of the Twilight Zone starring Richard Kiel? Is that
    so because you said so, or because you saw it as a kid and can’t
    get over the nightmares? Then you must think that after millions
    of gringos move south, they will end up on Mexicans’ plates, maybe
    as tasty menudo. Sorry, I think your mind is in lala land, not mine.
    The U.S. has 50 states now, and it’s filled with all kinds of peoples,
    but it’s under U.S. law, meaning that they can’t just walk into your
    house and move in, but must buy it or rent it first, and can’t live
    by stealing unless they want to face the law. As a practical matter,
    Mexicans end up living with other Mexicans, while gringos live
    with gringos, with some interface areas. All a megmerge will
    do is end the *!?* border, but retain U.S. law, which is the part
    you can’t seem to grasp. All that will end besides the border is the
    corrupt Mexican government, the real problem, like I said, if
    you read it twice maybe you need to read it thrice. But it will
    cause a totally new phenomenon, gringo migration to the south,
    which I think you still don’t get.

    You point to a number of bad Mexicans, and try to characterize them
    all from that small sample. That’s called the fallacy of composition,
    Google it. Actually, most Mexicans are good people, that’s what
    my article you said you read twice says, and I stand by it. They’re
    an okay people, if you’re not a white racist, that is. True, there’s a
    dire lack of Mexican elite scientists etc., but there have been some
    good ones, so I’m sure it’s just a cultural thing which can be fixed.
    Racism is the only real thing standing in the way of the Megamerge
    Dissolution Solution, including Mexican racism, man that

    of successful conquests of weaker nations, I see how quick you are

    What is your answer to my prediction that one day the poverty

    with our main enemies Russia and/or China he can neutralize us,

    feed themselves either without imports, maybe you’re getting

    I was hoping to find that there would be more Tea Parties later this year. July was a thought. I didn’t attend the past Tea Parties but I would drag my old butt out for the next one near me, Concord or Manchester. The only way our Government is going to listen is to keep up the pressure and keep doing Tea Parties.

I checked out a number of old writings of yours, and I found the one about the city of San Diego threatening the couple for having Bible study in their home. I live in San Diego County, so I know about the case. You were right on when you said, “San Diego can go fuck itself”.. You might also want to know that like the governor of your state, the city of San Diego’s Mayor also campaigned against gay marriage, or some other gay issue, but then when he got in office and actually had to vote on the thing, he flipflopped. Frankly, Gay activism is a problem that needs a tougher response. For the sake of analogy, can you imagine if a bunch of guys followed your wife into a public restroom (or a daughter if you had one)? You would probably wonder what the hell they were doing and would be right behind them ready for a little chat or something. Well, what business do gays have using the same restrooms as heterosexuals? Should people with a same-sex orientation be allowed to intrude on heterosexuals who are simply taking care of their personal bodily functions? Homosexuals are what they are, unnatural, abnormal, and, in my view, without any legitimate right even to use public restroom facilities. It is not my doing. People who have a sexual attraction to each other are kept separated for somethings like using a restroom or in places for changing cloths like at gyms etc. It is a good separation. What would the lockeroom be like with girls and boys together? “Sport” would take on a whole new meaning. I would be willing to bet that Obama will eventually be as strongly in favor of the homosexual agenda as he is for abortion. He is very shallow, to say the least, and homos are a constituent that democrats cannot afford to lose.

    Aside from your spelling and grammatical errors, you appear to believe that politicians will “do the right thing.”

    Illegal immigrants have strong support, with deep pockets. Some of their supporters are simply bleeding-heart types; others are trying to divide us – a good way to bring America down. If we citizens against illegal aliens would give more money, we would win the battle. It really is as simple as that. In our current state of corrupt politics, money talks, and apathy walks, getting burned in the process.

They don’t want any mention of God in schools. They don’t want any public Christmas displays. No more “Ten Commandments” in public buildings. In fact, they don’t want religion – period. They want a world of atheists.

    Regardless of those things, you are falling into a trap that the enemies of America WANT all of us to fall in to. They want to divide us with bitter hate. They want extreme left, and extreme right, and no middle ground. Because middle ground is how America became the greatest and most powerful nation ever.

    You can not justly blame all things on the democrats, same as left-wing extremists can not justly blame all things on republicans. Both sides try to do that; and try and try. It is unrealistic. The problems we face are because of corruption, more than any other single thing. It is good to have ideas from various political views. Both major parties were founded and carried forth on many good basic ideas. Somehow, we have lost that. When was the last time a politician tried to campaign based on merit instead of mud-slinging? They blame “the other guy” for everything. In all fairness to Obama, he ran a less dirty campaign than most politicians ever do these days. Unfortunately, he does not control those around him, and the extremists (on both sides) continued to try to paint their opponents as the devil.

    Americans need to end the corruption, and to end the hate, and to end the fear of “the other side”, and we need to focus on what is good for AMERICA and for the people of America. If we do not, then our enemies shall be victorious.

      Steve, you make some good points. We need to re-invent American politics and stop the divisive and petty methods that are resorted to now.

      I do understand Tony’s frustration. He could have thought it out a bit more. It so hard these days to know who’s actually got our best interests in mind as average Americans. There are so many special interest groups and other groups in the shadows that are working to their own agenda’s.

      America needs a leader who can unite us. I don’t see that in Obama. I didn’t see that in Bush. Reaching across the aisle to work together needs to be more than just a photo op and a smile.

    This is in regard to the 2 million people who protested Presiden Obama’s speech on health care:
    It would be nice if one of those 2 million could come up with a better plan to fix our health care problems! It also costs us a lot of money when so many people can’t get insurance and clog our ERs, and minor issues become serious illnesses, as when a child can’t get a penicillin shot for a strept throat he can get serious heart and kidney disease.

      Republicans have been trying to submit proposals to the healthcare debate but they have all been shot down without debate. There are better ideas out there, tort reform and allowing competition between states but this administration wants no part of it because it will not lead to government control.

    Under government healthcare my 77 year old mother would have likely been denied treatment for an aggressive cancer she had recently. Because she had a good insurance policy she was able to get complete treatment and her lymphoma was cured. No pain pills to run out the clock. She is returning to her active life.
    Since when has a child been denied a peniciillan shot? Under government healthcare the wait times for treatment (if available) are greatly increased. Healthcare must be rationed. The incoming president of Canadian healthcare describes their own government system as “sick” and “imploding”. The Canadians are looking at privitization and competition to improve their system.
    There are many more than 2 million who object to government healthcare. The tea party rally was more about government corruption, irresponsible spending of our tax dollars into bankruptcy and disregard of the constitution. Over 80% of Americans are happy with their current insurance though most agree the current system needs tweaking and streamlining.
    There are alternatives to government healthcare but they are muted by the media. Look them up.

    You have the Constitution on your site, now make room for the Declaration of Independence. There would be no Constitution without “The Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen United States of America”. It is because of that declaration that we celebrate the 4th of July each year. But, as expressed by the Declaration, and by many today, the “political bands” have come apart. Your site, and many others, reflect that sentiment. Stroking aside, anyone who reads your material surely can see that you have a “decent respect to the opinions of mankind,” and, there is an “equal station” that you ask your fellow bloggers to regard if they wish to link up with you. The individual independence that we Americans feel is rightfully ours (especially from an overbearing government) is not from the Constitution, it’s from the Declaration of Independence. The signers of the Declaration described that independent power as being based on the “Laws of Nature and Nature’s God” ten years before the Constitution was written! The Constitution followed-up on the Declaration’s submission to the still higher law and order. Thank God.

    Putting aside the jab that I think you were taking at me with your line about the political bands and my blog, I will first thank you for the compliment about my decent respect and equal station. Secondly, I agree with you about the Declaration, at one time I did have it on my blog but when I changed to the current theme my pages did not display as I would have liked so I deleted it in the interest of asthetics. I found out that the problem was that I was using an outdated version of IE and I intend to put the Declaration, and a couple of other founding documents,on my blog but I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Hopefully your reminder will prompt me to get the Declaration back onto my site in the very near future.

    Actually, as described in http://www.claysamerica.com, you should go all the way back to our real Founders, the Pilgrims, and the constitution they brought with them and lived by, the Geneva Bible and then trace 150 years of life in America to a time when Jefferson described America in the Declaration of Independence and those ideas reflected in the 1787 Northwest Ordnance and the Bill of Rights. For the 19th century, Jefferson and his Democrat Party, libertarians all, tried to keep America on its founding mission, which was disrupted by Hamilton, then Clay, Lincoln to Teddy Roosevelt, as well as the 20th century Democrats who preferred Rousseau and Marx to Jefferson, as they do today, all cited in THE CHANGING FACE OF DEMOCRATS on Amazon.

    I wasn’t taking a jab with the “political bands” comment. It was a comment on the general political condition in our country today and which words are from the Declaration, “When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another…”. I tend to think the US has some serious divisions politically. The conservative blogs and talk shows reflect that. I do not think the ultimate dissolution of the country is on the radar screen yet, but we have some irreconcilable differences on certain moral issues particularly, i.e. abortion, homosexuality, and they are not going away. The current economic situation and the impending debt for future generations also makes for a bleak outlook on the politics of our nation. But that’s for another Day! Anyway, I am glad to hear that the Declaration of Independence is only caught up in the day to day business of managing a website. It sounds like I can look forward to seeing it in the future. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the forum.

    The Coming Civil War
    America is much divided on whether individual or community interests are most important. One side says people’s interests are harmonious with their neighbors in community. It’s a simple premise and the base of the American political system, as expressed by the 19th century Democrats (see THE CHANGING FACE OF DEMOCRATS on Amazon books and http://www.claysamerica.com). Men labor, exchange, learn, band together, act, and react upon one another, and in this way, there can result from their free and intelligent activity, order, harmony, progress, prosperity and all things that are good and better. Just observing the free market and the prosperity of America proves this premise.
    Communities are made up of men and women, and each in America is a free agent. As free agents, they can choose. Since they can choose, they can be mistaken. Since they can be mistaken, they can suffer. Many make mistakes and suffer; as they start from ignorance, and in their ignorance they see before them an infinite number of unknown roads, all of which, except one, lead to mistakes. Mistakes breed suffering. Suffering falls upon the person who was mistaken and requires personal responsibility. Their actions, coupled with the intelligence that has been given them to see the connection between cause and effect, will bring them back, by their suffering, to a path of truth.
    Many, on the other side, believe men’s interests, left to their own devices, will never combine harmoniously. They believe those interests, allowed to develop freely, lead mankind to injustice, inequality and poverty, simply because of the ugly and sinful nature of men. Therefore, they must oppose that simple premise. They must destroy American society as it is now because it grew from the sinful nature of man. They want to try another way. They believe the interests of community are more important than are the interests of the individual, the long established world governing principle of the few elite ruling the many. We just elected a President and political party that claim this position.
    Individual freedom advocates do not deny mistakes exist; but recognize their purpose in community. If wrong-thinking is to fulfill its purpose, community must not encroach artificially upon individual responsibility. This is the tendency of most of our governing institutions, like parents and those offering remedies for the mistakes that afflict us. Under the philanthropic pretext of giving us a helping hand, the individual’s sense of responsibility fades. The freedom of the individual to make mistakes is not respected.
    Trying to force all Americans into a system of slavery, where government is the master, may cause a new civil war to erupt. Our tradition, based upon the first premise, has proven better than any system ever devised on this planet. If we look at the rest of the world, where eighty percent are starving and struggling to stay alive, America looks bright and wholesome. Many Americans may prefer to fight than capitulate to Obama and the modern Democrats serving the collective interests.

    I have enjoyed looking through your writing—love the reference to Fed. 10. I am a former public high school social studies teacher and tried time and again to challenge students’ notions that our gov’t is and should be a “democracy”. Sadly, I won’t be headed back to teaching–at least in part because of forced unionism and colleagues who did not do their jobs yet were paid better than I was because they had more time served so to speak.

    Hello Mr. Pink Eyes.

    I commend your pro-life, anti-abortion stance. Here is my stance on the issue.

    Abortion is unconstitutional for the following reason. First, since the federal Constitution is silent about abortion, the 10th A. automatically makes abortion a state power issue. So although corrupt justices found abortion rights in the 9th A. and used the 14th A. to apply abortion rights to the states, the reason that the Court got abortion wrong is the following.

    Given that the Article V majority can amend the Constitution at its pleasure, there is no need for the USSC to arbitrarily find any right in the Constitution. In other words, the states are the only entities that can “find” rights in the Constitution via enumeration by constitutional amendment. This is evidenced by the ratification of the BoR by the states.

    In fact, John Bingham, the main author of Sec. 1 of the 14th A., had clarified before the HoR that the 14th A. applies only enumerated privileges and immunities to the states. See for yourself.

    “Mr. Speaker, this House may safely follow the example of the makers of the Constitution and the builders of the Republic, by passing laws for enforcing all the privileges and immunities of the United States as guaranteed by the amendment Constitution and expressly enumerated in the Constitution.” –John Bingham, Congressional Globe (1871) http://tinyurl.com/y3ne4n

    So the states would have had to amend the Constitution to protect abortion rights prior to the Court’s deciding of Roe v. Wade, in my opinion, in order for the Court to be able to apply such a right to the states via the 14th Amendment.

    Also, note that while the the USSC wrongly ignored state sovereignty when it decided Roe v. Wade, the Court refused to examine the Terri Schiavo case, citing the Founder’s division of federal and state government powers. So the mixed-up Court is unthinkingly practicing double-standards where state sovereignty is concerned, IMO.

    But the main reason, in my opinion, that the USSC has gotten away with legalizing abortion is this. US citizens have not been teaching the Constitution and its history to their children for many generations. So as a consequence of widespread ignorance of the Constitution and its history, citizens are impotent to stop corrupt justices from walking all over their freedoms, including the right to life.

      I agree with everything that you said. While I think that abortion is wrong, I also think that this should be a states rights issue. THE Supreme Court had no business hearing Roe vv Wade, that is my biggest bone of contention.
      Great point about our children not being taught the constitution, there is an ignorance of the constitution in the younger people today because they have not been taught it and those people are now of the voting age.

    Obama’s White House Behind “Perpetuity” Clauses in Nazi Health Bill

    December 29, 2009 (LPAC)—President Obama and his top aides were directly involved in drafting the clauses in the Senate health bill which attempt to prohibit any future Congress from ever altering the Nazi “T-4″ cost-cutting policies emitting from the Independent Medicare Advisory Board.

    As EIR’s investigations have revealed, the secret clauses were inserted into the Senate bill during secret negotiations that took place behind closed doors in Harry Reid’s office between October 14 (the day after the Senate Finance Committee approved its version of the health bill), and October 26, when it was announced that negotiations had concluded. The Reid bill was filed in the Senate on November 19, at the point where Reid was certain he was close to having 60 voters to overcome a Republican filibuster.

    On October 13, the Senate Democratic website announced that “senior White House officials” would be joining Senators Dodd, Baucus, and Reid in an effort to merge the bills coming out of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee headed by Chris Dodd, and the Senate Finance Committee headed by Max Baucus. The next day, it was reported that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, OMB Director Peter Orszag, Health “czar” Nancy-Ann DeParle, and HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius were seated at the conference table in Reid’s office along with the three Senators.

    On Sunday, Oct. 18, the Washington Post ran a story entitled “Small Group Now Leads Closed Negotiations on Health-Care Bill,” noting that despite Obama’s campaign promises to conduct negotiations on health-care reform legislation in an open, transparent manner—even televised on C-SPAN—three Senators and top White House officials were meeting behind closed doors to hammer out the final Senate bill. The Post noted that the White House team was being led by Rahm Emanuel, and it said that the tie-breaking votes would be cast by Reid and by Emanuel, the latter acting on Obama’s behalf.

    According to various accounts, this group met continuously up until Oct. 26. The Reid bill was first made public on Nov. 19, with many Senators, Democrats included, complaining that they were in the dark over the revised bill.

    While the news media and commentators fixated on the so-called “public option,” buried in the Reid bill was one of the most sinister provisions ever written into Congressional legislation: clauses asserting that the provisions concerning IMAB and its Nazi policies could never be changed by a future Senate or House of Representatives.

    Exemplary is a clause, part of Section 3403 creating the IMAB, that reads: “It shall not be in order in the Senate or the House of Representatives to consider any bill, resolution, amendment, or conference report that would repeal or otherwise change this subsection.” (Subsection (d)(3)(C)). Immediately preceding this, are two clauses stating that “It shall not be in order in the Senate or the House of Representatives to consider any bill, resolution, or amendment” that would repeal or change the IMAB legislation or an IMAB recommendation unless it meets the genocidal, cost-cutting criteria specified earlier in the bill. And any waiver of this requires a three-fifths vote of the full Senate. Who stuck this in?

    As EIR’s investigation has shown, these “perpetuity” clauses were not in the IMAB section as voted out of the Senate Finance Committee, although most of the language in the IMAB section in Reid’s bill was taken, often word-for-word, from the Baucus bill. The fingerprints of Obama, Emanual and Orszag are all over this unconstitutional, fascist provision. From the outset, Obama was promoting an expanded version of the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC), what Obama called “MedPAC on steroids,” as a means of slashing medical costs, or “bending the cost curve” as he repeatedly put it. Obama suggested this be modeled on the BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure) Commission, whose recommendations cannot be altered, only voted up or down by a joint resolution of Congress.

    In June, Orszag himself drafted legislation to create an Independent Medicare Advisory Commission (IMAC). On July 17, he sent his draft to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, along with a cover letter stating that either his version, or the approach being put forward by Sen. Rockefeller to expand MedPAC and make it an independent agency empowered to “improve efficiency and performance throughout the Medicare system,” would be acceptable. A senior Congressional source later told EIR that Emanuel and Orszag were hammering top House leaders and insisting that the IMAC issue was the only non-negotiable issue in the entire health bill, as far as the White House was concerned.

    Going into the Reid secret negotiations, the Senate HELP bill had no IMAC/IMAB provision, (nor did the House bill), and the Baucus bill had an IMAB section which was said to have closely followed the White House’s demands. But obviously it was still not enough for Emanuel, Orszag & Co. What emerged from the secret conclave in Reid’s office, is a moral and constitutional affront to our Republic and the American people.

    Briefed on the EIR investigation-to-date, Lyndon LaRouche observed that the “in perpetuity” language conformed to “what I’ve observed in Rahm Emanuel’s method of speaking. Only an impassioned illiterate would insert such an obvious British formula. It read more like a text that was dictated, than something composed. The illiteracy of the text suggested that Rahm Emanuel played a decisive role. I came to that conclusion, based on profile, even before the evidence was assembled.” LaRouche denounced the Senate formula as “worse than Hitler. Hitler only sought a dictatorship for life.”

    Love your site. I’m a fellow patriot up here in Boston and I’m proud to say that I was part of the “2nd shot heard around the world”. My brothers and I made calls, sent emails, gathered up all the people we knew and spread the word across the state that a vote for Scott Brown was a vote for liberty and we WON!!! In the days/weeks leading up to it, it felt like an impending battle……… not too different from Lexington and Concord.

    has Released copies of President Obama’s college transcripts from Occidental College . Released today, the transcript school indicates that Obama, under the name Barry
    Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate. The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California. The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program. To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship.

    This document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama’s detractors have been seeking. Along with the evidence that he was first born in Kenya and there is no record of him ever applying for US citizenship, this is looking pretty grim. The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obama’s legitimacy and qualification to serve as President article titled, “Obama Eligibility Questioned,” leading some to speculate that the story may overshadow economic issues on Obama’s first official visit to the U.K. In a related matter, under growing pressure from several groups, Justice Antonin Scalia announced that the Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear arguments concerning Obama’s legal eligibility to serve as President in a case brought by Leo Donofrio of New Jersey . This lawsuit claims Obama’s dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. Donofrio’s case is just one of 18 suits brought by citizens demanding proof of Obama’s citizenship or qualification to serve as president.

    Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their investigation of Obama’s campaign spending. This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records. Mr. Kreep indicated that the investigation is still ongoing but that the final report will be provided to the U.S. attorney general, Eric Holder. Mr. Holder has refused to comment on the matter.

    While I’ve little interest in getting in the middle of the Obama birth issue, Paul Hollrah over at FSM did so yesterday and believes the issue can be resolved by Obama
    answering one simple question: What passport did he use when he was shuttling between New York , Jakarta , and Karachi ?

    So how did a young man who arrived in New York in early June 1981, without the price of a hotel room in his pocket, suddenly come up with the price of a round-the-world trip just a month later?

    And once he was on a plane, shuttling between New York , Jakarta , and Karachi , what passport was he offering when he passed through Customs and Immigration?

    The American people not only deserve to have answers to these questions, they must have answers. It makes the debate over Obama’s citizenship a rather short and
    simple one.

    Q: Did he travel to Pakistan in 1981, at age 20?

    A : Yes, by his own admission.

    Q: What passport did he travel under?

    A: There are only three possibilities.

    1) He traveled with a U.S. Passport,

    2) He traveled with a British passport, or

    3) He traveled with an Indonesia passport.

    Q: Is it possible that Obama traveled with a U.S.
    Passport in 1981?

    A: No. It is not possible. Pakistan was on the U.S. State Department’s “no travel” list in 1981.

    Conclusion: When Obama went to Pakistan in 1981 he was traveling either with a British passport or an Indonesian passport.

    If he were traveling with a British passport that would provide proof that he was born in Kenya on August 4, 1961, not in Hawaii as he claims. And if he were traveling
    with an Indonesian passport that would tend to prove that he relinquished whatever previous citizenship he held, British or American, prior to being adopted by his Indonesian step-father in 1967.

    Whatever the truth of the matter, the American people need to know how he managed to become a “natural born” American citizen between 1981 and 2008.

    Given the destructive nature of his plans for America, as illustrated by his speech before Congress and the disastrous spending plan he has presented to Congress, the
    sooner we learn the truth of all this, the better.

    If you Don’t care that Your President is not a natural born Citizen and in Violation of the Constitution, then Delete this and go into your cocoon.

    If you do care then Forward this!

      He has traveled over seas since being president – he is an American – he must be an American to be president. In order for an American to travel over seas he needs a passport from America. In order to get a passport he needs a birth certificate. He had this as well – don’t you people read the laws before you make up this crap?? – amazing

    In 2001 George Bush passed a tax cut to the tune of 1.35 trillion dollars. These are federal taxes. The Alternative minimum tax cut was given to those making over $175,000 a year – (not many people and not the average worker). Estate tax – I own one home, I can handle that; but for millionaires owning 4-5 homes – they get a tax break? Gift tax – leaving me millions? – are you getting millions from someone? – No – that is another tax cut for them – where is the avg guys tax break??? The oil companys received 13 billion in tax breaks over this period of time – - I am not an oil man – did not help me – how about you?? Big business thrived over this period and we sent American jobs overseas so that businesses could get more tax breaks. I did get a check for about $250 dollars for stimulus – - I guess that helped?? Why do we want these tax breaks again???

    If marriage is a religious institution, why doyou support any government participation or endorsement in the institution? How do you square your position with the first amendment? Why do you force non-religious heterosexual couples to have their legal unions be part of a “religious institution?” How about those whose religions endorse polygamous marriage – why do you legislate against that? Why don’t you promote civil unions for all, and leave marriage for the church?

    I absolutely adore that you’re pen name, or whatever you would rather call it, is Mr. Pink Eyes. If I saw you in a forum, hell, I would think you were liberal (the smoking in your photo doesn’t help). BUT, then I came to your blog, obviously, and found out… You were far from.
    In reading your about me, I was actually extremely disappointed I just couldn’t comment there. It’s a bit of pain to go back and forth to make sure I get everything out here that I wanted to say there. Anywho, straight to the point it is.
    I understand that you do not believe in homosexuals engaging in marriage. I don’t understand your reasoning though. You say marriage is a religious institution? Well, sorry, but it’s not. That is why when you get married, you have to go through someone who is ordained lawfully. P.S. It’s also separation of Church and State.
    I thought the three points you brought up of ways you believe the government should only spend your money. I just wish you expanded on that last one! Should there be a salary cap? How are the salaries decided? Just how much are you willing to pay through taxes?
    Although I don’t agree with a lot of what you’re saying, you’ll be seeing me around a bit!

      I was using the pen name Mr Pink Eyes up until a couple of weeks ago, up until that point all of my posts were written under Mr Pink Eyes. I now post under my real name, but I haven’t had a chance to update my “about me” page.
      I find it interesting that you think the picture of me smoking makes me seem like I would be a liberal. I use that picture of me wearing an ACU patrol cap and either a pipe or a cigar depending on the picture because I thought that it would kind of “tweek” some liberals. It’s the liberals who have banned smoking in many privately owned public places and it is the liberals who are always raising the tobacco tax. Smokers have been under attack for years by the left, that picture was supposed to be a way of throwing it back in their face a little bit.
      I think that marriage was initially a religious institution but that the law provides certain benefits with it, and if civil unions give gay couples the same benefits as married couples, I think that is an acceptable alternative. Having said that, my state of New Hampshire has gay marriage, and to tell you the truth this issue is way down on the list for me. We are facing much bigger problems in this country than gay marriage.
      The House of Representatives votes on their salaries, there really isn’t anything that we can do about that. But the whole notion of “public service” has gone out the window. The founders did not intend for politics to be a full time job, nor did they expect it to pay all of the bills. That is why congress is not in session full time, the founders and early politicians had to go home to their work in order to pay the bills. Over the years we have lost that and I don’t think that we will ever get it back.

    I thought having pink eyes would have been sort of Satanic.
    I am worried that Americans have decided that dancing with the devil is a risk worth taking. What I mean by that is many have become dependent on government for jobs and careers and can’t even understand that the economy will only survive with jobs and careers outside government dependencies.
    Every latest Democrat candidate in NH has sworn some sort of allegiance to Obama and still think debt creation is a convenience, or better said a risk worth taking. I don’t. I don’t think Americans have read much history and are hoping some how this time socialists will be better trusted than history has proved.
    I am terrified at the entrenched naivete that makes up what seems like the well educated who trust more power, more debt and more burden being levied on average citizens with a government mandating near Fascist dictatorship like regulations and access to everyone’s personal records.
    I remember back when Republicans were considered big brother and every liberal progressive cried bloody murder when ever the republicans suggested monitoring Americans, but when the socialists/communist/progressive not just suggest it but implement it all the sheep just head to the slaughter pleased that the got their way no matter how detrimental it has damaged our future and our children’s future.

    I never thought I would live to see the day a successful brainwashing campaign dummied American’s to the same stupor that Europeans arrived at decades ago, when they chose to dance with the devil. But then again if you refuse to wean yourself off big brother you have chosen what big brother offers…servitude to their master….debt.

      The thing that scares me the most is the fact that our children are being indoctrinated into the mindset that the government is the answer to all the problems. They are not being taught what the true role of our government is supposed to be.

    Yes, the key to Marxism and socializing people is to demolish their desire to succeed, so you demoralize them with the burden of adult relationships and choices early in their lives; pregnancy and drugs, make them guinea pigs for poor nutrition, abolish competition and remove history from the curriculum so you can indoctrinate to a weakened audience that you give no tools to succeed with. Once the children are forced to grow up without a youthful foundation they are easily to suppress and manipulated by emotions that have never been properly matured.

    I call it setting up failure.

    Our country is accepting defeat to these lackluster enslavor’s of the will by not resisting the take over of the school system, the workplace and the government with the basics of contempt toward human individual success and will to advance beyond others. Freedom and liberty are not sustainable with a me, me, me attitude and a take from the public treasury to support corrupting forces.

    I was reading your “About Me” page and just though I’d let you know. Neither of your quotes are from Thomas Jefferson. The first, “That government is best which governs the least” is actually from Henry David Thoreau’s Civil Disobedience. The second, “A government that is big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take everything you have.” is from Gerald Ford’s Presidential address to a joint session of Congress (12 August 1974).

    Just though I’d let you know.

I encourage you to move to another country with “less government” and see how much you like the wonderful lack of schools and soccer teams for your sons. I encourage you to befriend a gay individual and tell them to their face, instead of to your blog, that they are not as equal as you, and do not deserve the same things as you. But most of all, I encourage you to put down your FU cigar for a second and research the quotes that so accurately describe you on your about me page. Cause both are wrong and they make you seem even more ridiculous.

    Besides being in deep dung, I’m worried no legal action is going to stop this if something doesn’t start before the economic adjustments wreak havoc to our nations moral. I’ve never seen such pessimism and such blindness toward the future before and such an acceptance that its the way it is.

    Steve, An escapee from Massachusetts who now lives in Florida forwarded your blog to me. My brother who lives in South Carolina is also an escapee from Massachusetts. Neither would return to their home state. When my mother was terminally ill in Massachusetts we returned from Saudi Arabia to care for her. We commuted from our home in California to North Central Massachusetts and searched for a place to settle. Rather than maintaining two homes we sold the California home and moved into the home in Massachusetts we had bought for my parents. From the frying pan into the fire.

    We were both avid skiers and the Massachusetts home is only three miles from the largest ski area in the state which offered great discount season passes. So we have remained and support those who want to make a change to the bluest of the “blue states”. We continue to think that we should have settled in New Hampshire but one of your correspondents is correct in saying that many escape Massachusetts to avoid taxes and demand more state services. They are beginning to “screw up” a great conservative state.

    Your “About Me” segment echoes many of my sentiments. It may be time to reconsider relocating to New Hampshire. We would have to give up the struggle here but I am beginning to think that Massachusetts is a lost cause.

    We have seen socialism up close when we were behind the “Iron Curtain” and also in my many extended visits and travels to Europe for 31 years from 1960 to 1991. If permitted I would like to add some comments and observations about Hagel, Marx and Lenin to enlighten the liberal readers of your blog.

Yes New Hampshire has seen an influx of political refugees come up here from Massachusetts only to repeat the errors of their ways once they get here, hopefully we are going to turn it around in November.

Leading environmental organizations have gotten significant financial payoffs in recent years from BP in order that the oil company could remake itself with an “environment-friendly face,” as in “beyond petroleum” the company’s new branding.

    The Nature Conservancy, described as “the world’s most powerful environmental group,” [10] has awarded BP a seat on its International Leadership Council after the oil company gave the organization more than $10 million in recent years. [11]

    Until recently, the Conservancy and other environmental groups worked with BP in a coalition that lobbied Congress on climate-change issues. An employee of BP Exploration serves as an unpaid Conservancy trustee in Alaska. In addition, according to a recent report published by the Washington Post, Conservation International, another environmental group, has accepted $2 million in donations from BP and worked with the company on a number of projects, including one examining oil-extraction methods. From 2000 to 2006, John Browne, then BP’s chief executive, sat on the CI board.

    Further, The Environmental Defense Fund, another influential ecologist organization, joined with BP, Shell and other major corporations to form a Partnership for Climate Action, to promote ‘market-based mechanisms’ (sic) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

    Environmental non-profit groups that have accepted donations from or joined in projects with BP include Nature Conservancy, Conservation International, Environmental Defense Fund, Sierra Club and Audubon. That could explain why the political outcry to date for decisive action in the Gulf has been so muted. [12]

    Of course those organizations are not going to be the ones to solve this catastrophe. The central point at this point is who is prepared to put the urgently demanded federal and international scientific resources into solving this crisis. Further actions of the likes of that from the Obama White House to date or from BP can only lead to the conclusion that some very powerful people want this debacle to continue. The next weeks will be critical to that assessment.

    Didn’t want to deflect a blog post with this – this particular morning, I’m a little surprised to learn that Florida captured that fool sho shot and killed the two police officers in Tampa because they’d fouond out about an outstanding warrant.

    I really thought he’d be shot trying to escape.

    It’s a really high mark for their professionalism and integrity, but it’s disappointing to realize the no matter what, it’s at least ten years before this clown pays the price for what he did – if he pays at all.

    By the way – I thought that a lawyer’s job, in a criminal case, was to advocate for his client and ensure a fair trial. Now, in the canons, from what I understand, it’s to get the client off. Look at this scumbag vandersloot, who appears hellbent on avoiding trial in Peru at all costs, and has made it very clear he intends to exploit the Western-style justice system to escape justice.

    Anyway, enjoy a glorious Independence Day! (I hate it when I hear references to the “Fourth of July” – when was the last time you made plans for December 25th Dinner?)
