The Truth About The “Blocked” Iraq War Resotution

The Democrats and the mainstream media are attempting to portray the Republicans as denying a debate on the Iraq War. The truth is it is just the opposite. It is the Democrats who are stiffling debate.

 The Republicans have two  different resolutions on the floor in addition to the Warner resolution. The Republicans said they would vote on the Warner resolution as long as the Democrats would allow debate on the other two resolutions. Well guess what, the Democrats don’t want to go on record voting on the Gregg resolution. They said they would allow the other Republican resolution to go to  a vote.

 The Democrats are afraid to vote on the Gregg resolution, so the Republicans stopped the vote on the Warner resolution. If the Democrats agree to vote on the Gregg resolution, the Warner resolution will also go to the floor for a vote.

So despite what you see on the mainstream news, it is actually the Democrats who don’t want debate on this issue. They only want to vote on a resolution they believe they will win.
