Sad Day For America

Well, today the house voted in a non-binding resolution to oppose the troop surge in Iraq. It is hard for me to put into words how I feel about this, but I will try. The Democrats try to say they support the troops, but then they send a clear message to the enemy that they are weak. They are providing aide and comfort to the enemy by telling them if they keep attacking us we will withdraw from Iraq. This has to embolden the enemy, how can it not. If they support the troops they have a funny way of showing it, they are making it more dangerous for them. Of course, the more of our soldiers that die the better it is for the Democrats. How sick is That? It is hard to believe that they put partisan politics above the lives of our soldiers who VOLUNTEERED to defend this country.

Secondly, this is such a cowardly act. A non-binding resolution? They are trying to satisfy their base, who blame America for the Sept. 11th attacks, while trying not to seem weak on national defense at the same time. This strategy will not work. Their base will just get madder and madder at them until they defund the war. And if they vote to defund the war it will turn the rest of the country against them. They know it would be a political nightmare to defund the war. So they try and have it both ways and show they are against the war, but won’t stop it.

All this does is show us who they really are, partisan frauds with no guts. If they had the courage of their convictions they would vote to defund the war and end the debate once and for all
