Fighting The War On Terror, And The Polls

April 8, 2007

There is an article here that talks about how in addition to fighting the terrorists, we are also fighting the polls.

As the article states, America’s elected officials are thought of as leaders by the American people. If they are truly leaders they wouldn’t sway in the breeze that is the polls. They are followers.

While they are elected to represent the people, there are times when they need to stand up and do what is right for the country. This may be unpopular but in the end history will look back and judge them fairly. George W Bush will be looked at in this way. Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry, and many more will not. They put poll numbers ahead of what is right for the country, all to ensure re-election. America’s security be damned.

This article paints a very bleak picture in the middle east if we leave early and embolden the terrorists.

This article doesn’t go into how scary it is already getting in Europe. The European countries are so afraid of offending Muslims that countries are actually adopting Muslim law slowly but surely. A Muslim man in Belgium was awarded the right by a court to beat his wife because the Koran says it’s okay. This is Sharia law being applied in a non Muslim(for now) country.
