Florida house passes Waiting Period, and Ultrsound before performing Abortions

Florida’s house of representatives has okayed a bill that would require a woman to see an ultrasound of her baby and then wait 24 hours before having an abortion.

House Republicans who oppose abortion added the waiting period and ultrasound requirements, saying there was nothing wrong with trying to make women think seriously before undergoing such a serious procedure.

I think this is a good idea. Let a woman see her baby before she decides to terminate her pregnancy. Plus a waiting period to ensure she doesn’t make a rash decision. Maybe she will have second thoughts about the procedure. 

“It doesn’t do anything to take away women’s right to choose,” said Rep. Kevin Ambler, R-Lutz. “What it does do is put in place a thoughtful and deliberative process to think it through.”
