Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) Caught in the Culture of Corruption Part 4
You can read the first three parts here, here, and here.
You can read the latest about her corruption scandal here. Maybe this story is finally going to pick up some speed, but I doubt it. If she was a Republican she would already have been forced to resign from the senate not just her sub committee amid the outcry of the Democrats and the so called Republican culture of corruption. But she is a Democrat so she would never knowingly funnel millions of dollars to her husbands company.
YEAHHH RIIIIIGHT.
Excerpts from the article:
If the inferences finally coming out about what she did while on Milcon prove true, she may be on the way to morphing from a respected senior Democrat into another poster child for congressional corruption.
A Democrat as the poster child of the culture of corruption? They will never let this happen, she will somehow be turned into a victim. Democrats are above this type of behavior. Aren’t they?
it appears Sen. Feinstein was up to her ears in the same sort of shenanigans that landed California Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham (R) in the slammer. Indeed, it may be that the primary difference between the two is basically that Cunningham was a minor leaguer and a lot dumber than his state’s senior senator.
Putting her in the same category as Duke Cunningham, this may not turn out well for Sen. Feinstein, it’s time to open up a senate hearing. After all we need to have checks and balances don’t we. Unfortunately the senate will be wasting too much time with hearings on Condy which will yield no new information as she has already answered all the questions.
Melanie Sloan, the executive director of Citizens for Responsible Ethics in Washington, or CREW, usually focuses on the ethical lapses of Republicans and conservatives, but even she is appalled at the way Sen. Feinstein has abused her position. Sloan told a California reporter earlier this month that while”there are a number of members of Congress with conflicts of interest … because of the amount of money involved, Feinstein’s conflict of interest is an order of magnitude greater than those conflicts.”
Maybe this story does have legs after all. I just want her to be held to the same standards as Republicans, is that to much to ask? I don’t think so.
I have been reading the papers and watching the news, this story has been suspiciously absent.
