Rep. Jim Walsh (R-NY) says PBS should show Terrorism Documentary and let the People Decide

May 2, 2007

As I have been posting, PBS has decided not to air a documentary that shows moderate Muslims speaking out about radical Islam. I believe they are afraid of offending terrorists. You should be able to read my previous posts on this by searching PBS on my blog.

Rep. Jim Walsh (R-NY) says PBS should air the documentary on terrorism that PBS decided not to air. You can read the article here.

He believes PBS should air the documentary and let the viewers decide how they feel about it for themselves. What a novel idea, letting Americans make up their own minds, what is he thinking? Liberals don’t believe Americans are smart enough to make up their own minds. Therefore they must pass regulations to protect us from our own stupidity.

Show the movie, and let the American people decide for themselves. This is the message Rep. Jim Walsh (R-N.Y.) has for officials from the Public Broadcasting Service who have decided against the airing of a documentary which, he said, answers a crucial question – where are the moderate Muslims?

That’s the big question in my mind, where are they? Are they just to scared to speak out against the radicals as I believe? Or do they secretly agree with them?

The film PBS pulled from a documentary series lineup, “Islam vs. Islamists: Voices from the Muslim Center,” highlights the work of moderate Muslims who oppose the Islamist agenda and are willing to speak out.

These are the people I want to hear from, I can’t see any reason why they would pull this documentary which depicts Muslims who are not afraid to speak out against radical Islam. It just makes no sense to me. Are they afraid of offending the radicals and inciting terrorist attacks? We don’t need to do anything to incite them to attack us, they believe they are doing God’s work.

“I thought it was an excellent film,” Walsh said. “It helped me to understand why there was such a deafening silence in response to these outrageous anti-human attacks,” he said. “The American public has paid for this film so let them make their own judgment.”

I was discussing this point earlier tonight and my statement was, not all Arabs are terrorists and not all terrorists are Arabs…

The moderate Muslims, if there are any, need to speak out and make their feelings towards radical Islam well known, they have got to stand and declare their intent to do the right thing and not become terrorists, and denounce the terrorists for what they are, radical moonbat murderers, or by their own silence, be lumped in WITH the terrorists…
