The Politics of Fear, Democrat Style
We keep hearing Democrats accusing the Bush administration, and other Republicans of using the politics of fear. Whenever someone discusses terrorism, they are accused of fear-mongering. Terrorism is an issue in today’s politics, the most important issue actually. But yet the Democrats don’t want politicians to discuss it. Is that because they know they are weak on this issue? Is it because they view 9/11 as an isolated event? Is it because they blame America for creating terrorists in the first place? Or do they just think if we ignore them they will go away? I don’t know, but I do know this is an issue that must be discussed and debated in the coming election. To try to restrict that conversation by calling it fear-mongering is doing a great disservice to our country.
But Republicans aren’t the only ones to use so called fear-mongering, here is an article that points out what I would call the fear mongering of the left.
Here is some of what Bill Clinton thinks we should be afraid of:
Bill Clinton said Friday that disasters such as worldwide famine and an obesity epidemic could destroy the U.S. health care system unless politicians begin to look ahead and cooperate.
Famine and obesity at the same time?? What?
Sounds like he might be preparing us already for Hillary care all over again. Start with the fear now and we will be ready to accept socialized medicine.
“This is coming,” Clinton said. “And I know there is no great political constituency for it, but we can avert these disasters for not very much money if they can be put into the public debate and people understand clearly what’s going to happen.”
The key word in that last statement is MONEY, where do you suppose it’s going to come from?
He said the next president should solve the “biggest, baddest problems“
So obesity and famine are two of the world’s biggest problems, we need to spend money to solve them. Terrorism is not one of the biggest, baddest problems?
Maybe if President Clinton spent more time on the big, bad problem of UBL instead of on ML we wouldn’t have had to go to war in the first place.
