Hillary Snubbed in Liberal Straw Poll

June 20, 2007

In a straw poll conducted by the liberal Take Back America conference Hillary was snubbed as Obama took first place followed closely by Edwards.

In the unscientific straw poll sponsored by the Politico newspaper and conducted by liberal polling firm Greenberg Quinlan Rosner, 29 percent of attendees selected Obama as the favorite. Edwards came in a close second with 26 percent of the vote.

Hillary finished a distant third.

Clinton, who maintains a lead of 10 percentage points over Obama in national polls, came in third with 17 percent.

It appears though her stance, or lack there of, on the war is a big issue with the far left who make up the Democrat base.

This could be a big problem for her. They are still upset she hasn’t apologized for voting to authorize the war. This is the one issue I applaude her for. God it hurts to type that. She voted for the war, she shouldn’t apologize, however she is trying to say she was mislead into her vote by the president. So now I am taking back my applause (whew, that feels better). She is lying, she knows that the president didn’t intentionally mislead anyone. They all had the same intelegence and they all thought Saddam was a threat. She is trying to triangulate her position and play to both sides of the fence, it is too transparent to both sides I believe.

What is troubling about this poll are the issues that liberals found the most important.

The war was listed as the most important issue by 34 percent of respondents. Health care, which was a major focus on the conference agenda, was most important to 16 percent of respondents. Energy, environmental issues and the economy were also listed as top concerns.

Other than the war, I understand that the war is going to be the most important issue this election, it is troubling what their next important issues are.

What is even more  troubling about this poll was the issues that liberals found less important.

Terrorism, national security, illegal immigration, taxes and spending were of primary concern to few of those who voted, with each garnering less than three percent of the attention.

Environmental issues and energy issues are more important than terrorism and national security?

That right there is why we can’t have a Democrat for president.
