Changing the Number of Supreme Court Judges to Create a more Liberal Court

July 27, 2007

With everything else that president Bush has done coming under scrutiny and investigation, it was only a matter of time before his supreme court appointees would come under fire too. The left knows what a remarkable impact Roberts and Alito could have for years to come. I have said before that Bush’s supreme court appointees will be his most lasting accomplishment. What is most disheartening is that the first shot fired was from Republican Arlen Spector, you can read about that here.

Democrats, like sharks that smell blood, will now begin to circle around Roberts and Alito. The first example of this is an article in the New York Times that says there is a way to change the court to have a more liberal position. Jean Edward Smith, a biographer and political science professor at Marshall University wrote the following:

The number of justices on the Supreme Court should be increased because the “current five-man [conservative] majority persists in thumbing its nose at popular values,

Because he doesn’t like the direction that the court has gone, he proposes adding to liberal judges to make the court more fair. Fair to him, of course, meaning refecting his beliefs better.

There is some precident for this. This is just another reason we need to do everything we can to get another Republican in the whitehouse. The left wants to have the courts install a liberal agenda into law if they can’t get the American people to go along willingly.

The Democrats have been given their battle plan by the New York Times and now we will see who follows it.

You can read the whole article here.

If you can’t fight fair and win, the next best thing is to stack the deck in your own favor. We’re seeing it come from these people almost every day. With everything from the fairness doctrine to trying to allow illegal immigrants to vote, the left is doing everything they can to stack the deck in their favor and ensure their continued power.

Of course, it is a totally different (and much more alarming) game when they’re actually trying to fundamentally change a branch of government so that they can get their way. Personally, of all the loony and quasi-socialist things these people have tried to do since January, this one scares me the most. They have already proven that they don’t respect or follow the US Constitution, which means the Judicial branch has to uphold it the best they can… Threatening to take away that last bit of sanity within the three branches of government is a very, very scary proposition to us freedom loving people.

Sorta interesting how they werent so concerned about the makeup of the court when it was a liberal majority. Its like them talking about brining back the so-called Fairness Doctrine.

When they cant get what they want legitimately they have no moral qualms about doing end runs. The ends will always justify the means to a Democrat. I said “moral” when talking about liberals?! Silly me, what was I thinking.

It is amazing the way the try to force their beliefs on everyone. It’s like they can’t understand why not eveyone agrees with them. It’s almost like they think that WE do agree with them and that Bush went against the conservatives that voted for him by appointing conservative judges. What I just wrote doesn’t even make sense, but it seems to be what they think.
