Another Candidate Announces he will Run for New Hampshire Rep. Carol Shea-Porter’s Congressional Seat
Jeb Bradley has already announced he will run for the seat he lost to Carol Shea-Porter in last November’s congressional election, now we have another Republican who also wants the seat.
Former NH Health and Human Services commissioner John Stephen today announced he is forming a campaign committee to run for the Republican nomination for the District 1 U.S. Representative seat.
Republicans seem to be lining up to challenge for this seat. Carol Shea-Porter appears to be vulnerable amid dismal approval rating. Of course the media in New Hampshire only talks about how Republican senator John Sununu is vulnerable with no mention of Shea-Porter’s vulnerability.
Some quotes from John Stephen:
“Five years ago, I ran for Congress for one reason, to bring New Hampshire values to Washington,” said Stephen. “Since then, what we have seen is a whole bunch of Washington values sent back to New Hampshire.”
“It’s time to take the car keys away from this Congress. We need to get back to low taxes, fiscal discipline and personal freedom and responsibility. These are the values that make New Hampshire great,” he said.
This should make for an interesting primary season for the seat in congress, read the whole article here.
