Alberto Gonzalez Resigns, But Why Did the Democrats Want Him To?

August 27, 2007

Before I begin this post I would like to take a moment to warn any liberal readers that this post is intended to infuriate you. If you are an easily infuriated liberal, and what liberal isn’t, STOP HERE. Why do I say this about liberals? Because liberals are always infuriated by something, they believe that the deck is stacked against them and they will never be able to get ahead because America is flawed. Now on to the post:

As everyone knows by know Alberto Gonzalez, a Mexican-American, resigned today under extreme pressure from the left. I am not going to discuss whether he should have resigned or not. This is a discussion I will leave up to hundreds of blogs, television networks, websites, and newspapers. Conservatives will believe he was jobbed, liberals will believe he had it coming. I would like to touch upon another possible reason the Democrats wanted him gone.

Could it be the LEGAL firing of the United States attorneys?

Could it be the foreign surveillance program?

Or could it be something else?

Could it be the simple fact he is a Mexican-American? You may ask, “why would the left care if he was Mexican?”, after all the Democrat party is the party that celebrates diversity, and loves multi-culturalism. And you would be right in asking. The Democrats DO love the minorities, they pander to them during every election cycle. They promise to take care of them and provide them with everything they need to survive, especially when a Republican is president.

The truth is that they like their minorities poor and dependent on BIG GOVERNMENT.  They promise them so much and provide enough to keep them dependent on BIG GOVERNMENT thus ensuring the minorities will continue to vote for Democrats. Keep the gravy train coming, why work for a living when you can blame the system and have everything handed to you?

The last thing that the Democrats want is to see a successful minority. A successful minority doesn’t need them. Alberto Gonzalez is just such a case. Could it be that Alberto Gonzalez, who made HIMSELF successful without BIG GOVERNMENT provides the wrong example to the minorities that the Democrats care so much about?

After all, how could he possibly make anything out of himself when America is so unfair? Could it be that America provides an opportunity for anybody, regardless of race, color, creed, sex, or sexual preference to make something of themselves if they apply themselves? Could it be that minorities don’t need government assistance, but rather have grown addicted to it through fear and ignorance of the system because of the constant negativity of the left?

By now most liberals must have been offended and shocked at what they will call a racist, bigoted post. By now most liberals must have stopped reading. If you are a liberal, and are still reading, congratulations on your sticktoitiveness. I may have also lost some conservatives by now. But I was trying to make a larger point and decided to use Alberto Gonzalez as a launching pad for my point. So, yes, I may have used hyperbole in this post, and I think most readers will get it, but maybe not. I do not believe that the Democrats wanted Gonzalez out because of his heritage, but decided to try to illustate the differences between conservatives and liberals when it comes to the opportunities afforded to the American people. Conservatives believe people can make themselves into whatever they want if they apply themselves, while liberals believe that average people cannot make it on their own, that they need government assistance.

But, just in case, watch your back Condi, you could be next.

Good stuff, Steve. One of the challenged over at Kos has suggested that the next AG should be chosen outside the Bush Administration…as a means to avoid Bush cronyism…for the “office once held by Robert Kennedy”. Uh, RK was the BROTHER of JFK. Cronyism indeed.

Well, I have to say that while I enjoyed being the king of controversial posts, I think you just took the top prize!

This is a great post. I don’t know how much truth there is to the speculation, but it certainly makes a lot of sense – given the current state of things and mentality of the liberal left out there. After all, how can you claim that immigrants don’t have a chance in this country and are just lowly spinach pickers, while you have somebody like Gonzalas in the position he is in? It throws their whole “poor little old them” mentality right back in their face. Not to mention it always has kicked reality in the teeth regarding all of the claims that Bush and his administration are racists… Go figure.

I don’t know about that. I mean, calling for the abolition of the bill of rights in a time when most of the left believes that GWB is trampling the constitution and bill of rights and is trying to become a dictator has to be number one.

I don’t really believe that the Democrats were going after Gonzalez because he is Mexican, but I started thinking about where this man has come from and how he achieved the American dream only to have it taken away. I then started thinking about what would happen if Republicans started attacking such a minority success story, I think we all know what would happen. I decided to turn the tables on them in an attempt to illustrate the true differences between the parties.
