Iraq Prime Minister al-Maliki Fires Back at Hillary and Carl Levin
“There are American officials who consider Iraq as if it were one of their villages, for example Hillary Clinton and Carl Levin. They should come to their senses.”
Those words were spoken by Iraq Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. So it appears as though rhetoric and words that are muttered here for pure political reasons do get heard in Iraq. The Democrats like to think their words go unheard over in Iraq, they don’t believe their words have consequences. If Maliki heard what Clinton and Levin have said over here, let us look at some of the words our enemy may have heard.
Harry Reid:
“I believe … that this war is lost, and this surge is not accomplishing anything
Dick Durbin:
“If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags or some mad regime — Pol Pot or others — that had no concern for human beings,”
John Murtha:
“there was no firefight, there was no IED (improvised explosive device) that killed these innocent people. Our troops overreacted because of the pressure on them, and they killed innocent civilians in cold blood.”
And:
“I will not excuse murder, and this is what happened,”
I know the anti-war crowd will read this and say it is old news but I don’t care. When I hear United States high ranking politicians say things like this about our soldiers I become livid. I was livid the day these comments were made and I am still livid today. These people just throw these lines out there and aparently don’t care about any likely repercussions.
You can’t tell me that the enemy doesn’t hear these words. They do. This kind of rhetoric is what leads them to believe they can win this war, and frankly I also believe this is the kind of thing that will help them win. Winning the public perception war is the only battle that the terrorists care about winning. They know they can’t win militarily, so they just have to hope they can wear the American people out by the suicide bombings and the killing of innocent civilians.
When you hear our leaders speak in such a manner it gives the impression to the enemy that they are succeeding, and you know what? They are.
