Massachusetts tax Dollars at Work…..Carving Pumpkins

Massachusetts moonbat Governor Deval Patrick ran on the promise of cutting the property tax burden on the citizens of Massachusetts. After his election he said he couldn’t cut any programs because they were necessary programs, so he planned on raising other taxes to compensate for the property tax cut, which never came.

So, with all those necessary programs that couldn’t be cut, let’s look at an example of how Massachusetts is spending taxpayer money. Although I live in New Hampshire, I work in Massachusetts and pay their state income tax, so this is also my money at work here.

Hundreds of Attorney General Martha Coakley’s employees turned out for an on-the-clock, (my emphasis), pumpkin carving presentation at the State House yesterday, taking two hours out of the work day to view a Power Point presentation of their Jack-O-Lantern creations.

Isn’t that nice, they spent my money on a pumpkin carving contest. Maybe they can justify it by giving the hack-o-lanterns, as the Boston Herald called them, to low income families who can’t afford their own pumpkins. At least then they will be using my money the way they love to the most, by giving it to someone else.

Coakley staffers jammed the Gardner Auditorium, which is usually reserved for public hearings, for the three-hour event, which was closed to the public. The mandatory taxpayer-funded staff meeting began at 10 a.m. and included lunch and a contest to see which division of the AG’s office created the best pumpkin carvings.

They closed down an auditorium that is reserved for public meetings so nobody could see this abuse of tax payer money. However a reporter who was turned away was able to glance in and see what was going on.

A reporter was told it was a private event and turned away at the auditorium, despite it’s location in the middle of the State House. Through the auditorium windows, Coakley employees could be seen viewing carved pumpkins on a wide screen display as part of the “team building” contest the AG organized.

What happens in the Massachusetts state house, stays in the Massachusetts state house. I have just one question for the liberal politicians of Massachusetts, will you have a CHRISTMAS tree decorating party, or is that to politically incorrect?
