Do Nothing Congress Shortens it’s Workweek

 Didn’t the Democrats promise to be the hardest working congress in history when they were elected? They branded the Republican led congress before them as the “do nothing congress”. This Democrat controlled congress has gotten none of their agenda signed by the president. This is truly the do nothing congress. President Bush has out maneuvered them at every turn, and they have failed to pass their agenda.

 How does the Democrat led congress try to do away with the do nothing label that is being applied to them? By doing more nothing.

The House majority leader, Representative Steny H. Hoyer of Maryland, told fellow Democrats this week that the House would not be in session next year on Fridays, except in June for work on appropriations bills.

 That’s right, they are getting too much nothing done in a full week so they need to cut back their hours and then they will be able to get the same amount of nothing done in less hours. Makes sense to me, why work more hours when you can get the same nothing done in less hours?

 They try to pass this off as going home to visit their constituents and see their families.

Explaining that decision to reporters, Mr. Hoyer said, “I do intend to have more time for members to work in their districts and to be close to their families.”

 BULLSHIT, they are frustrated that the man that they have labeled an idiot and a moron has been able to stifle them and their agenda. They are afraid that they are exposing themselves as the true idiots and the less time in the limelight the better, so they think.

 President Bush took this as an opportunity to hammer the do nothing Democrats, and expose who they really are.

“This is not what Congressional leaders promised when they took control of Congress earlier this year,” Mr. Bush said. “Congress needs to keep their promise, to stop wasting time, and get essential work done on behalf of the American people.”

 The truth is that promises don’t mean anything to Democrats, they will say anything to become elected. They know that they will never be called on their lies because they are in bed with the mainstream media.
