Democrat Says There is no Progress in Iraq Despite the Evidence

November 26, 2007

I previously wrote in this post that the Dmocrats were starting to change their strategy in regards to the Iraq war. I wrote that because of the recent success in Iraq that the Democrats were moving their talking points from “we can’t win in Iraq” to “Iraq is not making progress politically”, and I now have the most recent example of this in Bill Richardson.

But before I get to that I want to share this quote from Bill Richardson along with a little commentary of course:

“Progress shouldn’t be measured by casualty counts, body counts,” Richardson told host George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week.”

Oh really? Let me ask you a few questions then, governor. Who is it that constantly reminds us of the body count? DEMOCRATS! Who is it that celebrates every round number death toll? DEMOCRATS! Who is it that gleefully awaits more American deaths so they can use it for political gain? DEMOCRATS! Now that the casualty rates are down you want to discredit them because you can’t use it in your favor? You can’t have it both ways, sir. You can’t decry all the military deaths to make your point and then decry people are using the decline in military deaths against you. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

The hypocrisy of these people is simply amazing, isn’t it? The arrogance they protray when they feel they can say whatever the hell they want and they will never be held accountable is astounding.

Now, back to my original point, the change in strategy by the presidential candidates can be summed up by these statements by Bill Richardson:

“Until we withdraw all our forces, the political reconciliation that we all want — a multinational peacekeeping force, a donor conference, the three groups in Iraq, the Sunni, the Shia, and the Kurds coming together, a unification of the country — is not going to happen.”

 And:

“The best way to achieve a political solution in Iraq,” he said, “is to withdraw our forces.”

There you have it in a nutshell, the Democrats new reason we must withdraw. For Iraq’s political gain. These people stare progress in the face and all the while continue to deny it because it will make it appear as if President Bush was right.

They continue to twist and turn in the wind but they cannot hide who they really are. They will do anything to get back into power and that includes wrestling defeat from the jaws of victory.

Also, note that NO timeframe they have EVER listed goes beyond Bush’s term. Not one timeline demanded was based on anything but their political desire to stick complete failure on W, no matter what the cost to the Iraqi people..

“The best way to achieve a political solution in Iraq,” he said, “is to withdraw our forces.”

This is the most absurd thing I have heard from a dem’s mouth in at least 5 minutes. They really have no clue, do they? There will be no political solution if the country gets overrun with the animals. They can preach peace and political solutions until they are blue in the face, but the fat remains that if we pull out and the militants take our place, there will be no chance at a political solution to the Iraq war.

Why is this concept so hard for the dems to grasp? Is it just that their brains are so hard-wired to believe that everything is happy and hunky-dorey in their ideological little world views? In the real world, we have to contend with the facts. We know that militants and terrorists won’t have a political solution. We know that if we just pull up and move out that things won’t just get better (or even stay the same). Yet we get scolded time and again for making the wrong decisions? What planet do these morons really live on?

They live in Lala land for the most part but we need to say it this way. That they are just ill-informed, no matter how stupid we know most of them to be. You can actually convince a Democrat into becoming middle of the road with logic, a little Atlas Shrugged, and some common sense of proving to them that the best way to help the poor is not to throw money at them , but to free up business to expand without the heavy handed restrictions. If you give the real examples they do listen unless they are ideologues. I have to day made many Democrats question their values and ideology and at the lest had quite a few come to dislike Democrats as much as Republicans in their little world view.
