Hillary Clinton Trails Five Republicans in the Latest Head to Head Poll
According to this Reuters story Hillary Clinton now trails the top five Republican candidates in a hypothetical general election. She even trails Mike Huckabee. The Zogby poll has her trailing all five candidates by a slim margin, three to five percent, but show a drop in support as recently she was ahead in all general election polls.
To make matters worse for Senator Clinton is the fact that the same polls show Obama and Edwards beating any Republican in a general election. To be honest, I still don’t understand how Edwards is a viable candidate, but that is what the poll shows. This could be a real problem for Clinton because her likability ratings have always been real low and there has always been concern on the left that she will be unelectable because of this. Democrats, who are so anxious to get back into power could actually see this as a problem also and jump ship to a candidate they feel can beat the Republican candidate.
While I don’t put allot of stock in national polls, state polls are more important, hell Mitt Romney isn’t polling well nationally but is ahead in Iowa and New Hampshire, this coupled with the fact that Hillary is losing in Iowa to Obama for the first time has to show a real down turn in the Hillary campaign. She has to be worried.
This all seems to have started at the debate where she fumbled the question on driver’s lisences for illegals, a cut and dry answer should have been given but she tried to play both sides of the fence. This may have exposed her as the kind of person she is to those out there that still blindly follow the Clintons.
There is a downside to this poll however, as the poll shows Obama and Edwards still beating the Republican nominee, because when you think about it all of the Democrat candidates are the same anyways. They are all trying to out anti-war each other, and out entitlement each other.
As the primary season draws closer and Democrats start to take a closer look at the candidates, their opinion on Hillary seems to be changing because they fear all the baggage that comes with her.

It seems pretty clear that if you look at all the statistics state-by-state, Rudy and Hillary will win their nominations and Rudy will win the general election – if it were held tomorrow, that is.
