Ron Paul Passes Mike Huckabee in the Latest New Hampshire Poll
In the Republican Primary, the 7NEWS/Suffolk University poll shows Romney (30 percent) leading McCain (27 percent), followed by Rudy Giuliani (10 percent), Ron Paul (9 percent), Mike Huckabee (7 percent), Fred Thompson (2 percent) and Duncan Hunter (1 percent). Twelve percent were undecided. Paul is now polling ahead of Iowa Caucus winner Huckabee.
The polls in New Hampshire ave very fluid right now. Nothing is set in stone. This morning I posted the latest results of a CNN/WMUR poll that had McCain leading Romney by six points. This is a channel seven poll out of Boston. Not only does it show the good news of Romney ahead of McCain, it also shows Ron Paul moving past Mike Huckabee.
Mike Huckabee does not have a chance of winning here, however if McCain does win I think it will keep Huckabee alive in the race because I don’t think McCain has a chance to win the nomination. A McCain victory would open the field back up to everyone, with the possible exception of Romney, who I think would be just about done. He has staked so much on these early states.
What is interesting is that Ron Paul has moved ahead of Huckabee. I think Ron Paul has a real chance at surprising some people around the country by his showing in New Hampshire. Does Ron Paul have a real chance of winning here? NO! But I think he is going to come in a strong third. When I make my predictions here I was going to put Paul in second place, that was before the McCain surge. I think it is pretty evident that Romney and McCain will finish one, two, but the third spot is anyone’s guess. Paul does appear to have a strong following here, and his following appears to be the younger voters. Because the younger voters are more apt to have cell phones as their primary phones and cell phones are not subject to the poll calls, I think his numbers don’t accurately reflect what his final numbers will be. I think that whoever finishes fourth, it will be a distant fourth.
I could be way off base here, but my surprise in the primary will be a stronger than expected vote for Ron Paul.
New Hampshire voters appear able to see through Mike Huckabee, now we need them to see through John McCain.

Ron Paul is not talking about Internet Regulation and all the other legislation that John McCain is criminally responsible for sponsoring and voting for in the US Senate. Jesse Benton at HQ knows all about this but the candidate seems to be following a strategy of almost being only a one-issue anti-war candidate.
John McCain could be crushed if he was asked “Do you support background checks for users of the Internet before they can communicate with each other”. McCain’s answer would have to be yes. That would finish him off.
But Ron Paul missed the opportunity last night to stop McCain with this.

I think McCain’s performance in New Hampshire will not be as great as expected; he virtually imploded several times during the CNN debate last night.
I think that the Independent voters who are watching the debates/forums to get more info before deciding on their candiate of choice will be repelled by McCain’s actions, and will shift to a more palatable candidate– Ron Paul.

As another point, I’ve noticed at the rallys that the McCain supporters all seem to be fairly elderly (70 +); I don’t remember seeing any younger faces.
Ron Paul supporters, on the other hand, seem to come from a much broader demographic.

Hey I have a question for you. I’m going to shoot you an email. Its last minute but I’m hoping it works out.

Thompson, McCain, Romney, and Giuliani have all shown themselves to be rude, smirking bullies when Ron Paul is speaking.
Their scheme to all act amused when he is speaking makes them obviously unfit for the Presidency, as George Bush has turned out to be.
These are violent-hearted power-lusting little bullies, not statesmen, not philosophers, not gentlemen. Even when I agree with them, I dislike these creeps.

I think some of the unpopularity of the republican candidates is because of their arrogance and attempts at demeaning Dr Paul. The more they smirk the more support I try to raise for Paul. He is clearly the most informed and most competent. His knowledge and rational threatens the other candidates credibility…so they attack his. I think Fox made a huge miscalculation by excluding Paul from the debates.

I wish the New England area Ron Paul supporters success in insuring a fair and fraud free vote count in the upcoming New Hampshire primary, not just for Dr. Paul, but for all the candidates.

I certainly did my best to help with that ideal at the Iowa caucuses this past Jan. 3rd. And I believe to a large extent we were successful.
Here is a reply I made to an inquiry from a Ron Paul supporter from New York state. “Ron” writes:
I heard on the news last night that Huckabee was the overwhelming Rep favorite and Ron Paul came in with only 10%, beating only Rudy who had 3%. You are a lot closer to Iowa then I. Any thoughts on it?
I replied:
Hi Ron.
I think the 10% figure is apparently accurate. I don’t believe Dr. Paul’s vote was messed with (this time) for a couple of reasons. First, the Iowa GOP was on full notice that we were going to record the vote at the precinct level, where the vote is in fact done on paper ballets and counted in the open, at least it was at the precinct location I attended.
Second, I don’t think the Iowa GOP felt they needed to fiddle with Dr. Paul’s vote. Iowa is like the Bible Belt of the North. And while the MSM gave very little attention (free advertising) to Dr. Paul, they gushed continuously over Huckabee, never failing to mention that he was a Baptist preacher.
The following link is to the project where many volunteers attended the Iowa caucuses, and recorded the vote totals as they were announced. As you will see, according to our volunteer recorded vote count, Dr. Paul got roughly 10%, just like the “official” 10% results.

But, while Dr. Paul’s vote appears to be accurate, I think there was still some election hanky-panky going on, most likely to enhance Huckabee’s vote total. I monitored two of the eight precincts in Lyon County, Iowa, where out of 119 votes, Duncan Hunter got nine votes. But if you take a look at the official results for Lyon County on the following link, you will see that they are reporting ZERO votes for Hunter for the entire county!

The local precinct vote was honest where I was. It’s somewhere up the chain of custody where the totals were massaged.
I think those nine disenfranchised Duncan Hunter voters who I personally know about, and who knows how many others in the other 98 counties should be raising hell with someone about what appears to be one more case of election fraud.

End email response to “Ron”.
Honest elections for all.
And Go Ron Paul!

I do agree that Mr.Paul should expand his image from being a one-issue, anti-war candidate…which is how the mainstream media has been describing him.
The suggestion that McCain be challenged on his record vis-a-vis privacy issues and internet regulation is a good one.
Especially in New Hampshire..the Live Free Or Die state an issue like that would have resonated.
And Ron would have done well to remind the voters there of the meaning of those words..if they believed in them..and were ready to declare themselves worthy of the trust placed in them by the founding fathers.
I am hoping, however that we do not just leave it up to our hero to do all the fighting for this country.
It is also our job to point these issues out to supporters of other candidates and to not simply preach to or encourage each other..but to reach out to prospective converts..appeal to their common sense and decency..get them involved in this campaign.
I am betting on New Hampshire voters to put us well over the 10% mark..and frankly I’d call it a victory if we polled near 20%. Then Ron and his supporters [us] would be taken seriously..impossible to ignore.
So now..let’s all take a deep breath and get ready for the battle ahead.
Onward Fellow Paulists
Amen
