John McCain Caught Lying in Last Night’s Debate

 John McCain was exposed as being a liar last night in the Republican debate. He was called on his excuse for opposing the Bush tax cuts by Anderson Cooper. he has been stating during this campaign he opposed the Bush tax cuts because they didn’t reign in government spending. I call bullshit. We know, as you can read here, that the reason he gave in 2001 he opposed the tax cuts was that they favored the wealthy. He was using class warfare.

In 2001:

“I cannot in good conscience support a tax cut in which so many of the benefits go to the most fortunate among us at the expense of middle-class Americans who most need tax relief,” McCain said then.

 In 2003:

“The tax cut is not appropriate until we find out the cost of the war and the cost of reconstruction,” McCain said then.

 During this campaign:

“I disagreed when we had tax cuts without spending restraint,” the Arizona senator said.

BUSTED. John McCain has been in spin control mode on the tax cut issue for almost the entire campaign and he was finally called out on it.

 During the debate he also claimed that because his plan to reign in spending with these tax cuts was abandoned that the Republicans lost control in the house and senate in 2006. He claimed they did not lose control because of the Iraq war. I call bullshit.

 John McCain is revising history in an attempt to become president.

 John McCain also purposely, willfully, and knowingly lied about Mitt Romney and his stance on setting timetables for withdrawal from Iraq. Even as Romney’s quote was read back to him he continued to misrepresent what Romney’s position was.

 John McCain is the same as Democrats when it comes to many issues, and it now appears as though John McCain is like them when it comes to getting elected. John McCain has shown us that he will say and do whatever it takes to become president. Even lie.
