New Hampshire Governor Let’s Another Bill Become Law Without his Signature

July 17, 2008

Teflon John (AKA Governor Lynch) is at it again. He has claimed that he is against mandates on health insurance companies, yet when a bill came to his desk that mandated that insurance companies cover weight loss surgery did he veto it? No,he did nothing. This allowed the bill to become law without his signature. He gets the best of both worlds. This is the second time John Lynch has used this tactic so that his name won’t appear on a controversial issue. You can read about the first time here.

Here is an editorial that ran in the Union Leader about this coward of a governor:

GOV. JOHN LYNCH knows he should have vetoed Sen. Bob Clegg’s bariatric surgery bill. He understands that health insurance mandates raise the cost of health insurance. That’s why he has said he opposes them. And yet he let Clegg’s mandate bill become law anyway.Granite Staters should not be surprised that Lynch ducked yet another tough issue. That’s how he has maintained such high approval ratings. It’s pretty easy to be popular when you never make a decision that could offend others.

That sums up this coward perfectly. To those who oppose the bill he can simply say “I didn’t sign it”, even though his non signature, non veto is a defacto signature. From those in favor he will hear a loud thank you.

People of New Hampshire need to start paying attention to what is going on here before it is too late.
