Global Warming Will Create too Many Male Fish
You have to give the global warming alarmists a gold medal in creativeness, the latest problem that will come from man-made global warming is too many male fish. If they are nothing else they are imaginative. This is so absurd that I can’t even get worked up about it any more. The more “research” that “scientists” do to study the possible effects of global warming the more ludicrous they become. Soon the “scientists” will become laughingstocks, won’t they? There has to come a time when people finally say that these “theories” have gone too far and are unbelievable. To me they already are, but to read stories about fish sex and global warming it just reaffirms my thoughts about this scam.
“We found that in fish that do have temperature-dependent sex determination [TSD], a rise in water temperature of just 1.5 degrees Celsius can change the male-to-female ratio from 1:1 to 3:1,” says Piferrer, the study’s co-author. In especially sensitive fish, a greater increase can throw the balance even more out of whack. Ospina-Alvarez and Piferrer have found that in the South American pejerrey, for example, an increase of 4 degrees Celsius can result in a population that is 98% male.
What else can I say? What will they think of next? First cats are breeding too quickly because of global warming and now there will be too many male fish.
I can only hope that the more and more ridiculous the stories become, the more people will walk away from this hoax.

ok….I can see the initial humor in reading something like this. But where in this article does the author provide any scientific information that states this is false? Is this article nothing more than an armchair response to something that he hasn’t any clue? What a weak response. If anything, he sounds defensive.

The GW lunies have also run a study showing that warming causes a bumper crop of Lemmings causing them to have to compete for food and water. But there is good news, another study shows that GW will kill a substantial amount of fungi in northern forests thus reducing the amount of carbon dioxide the fungi exudes.
Knowledge is a good thing and the pursuit of knowledge for understanding is a good thing. Pursuit of knowledge in the pursuit of grant money is a bad thing.

This saddens me that certain people with little or no educational background (particularly scientific) comment in such a way on something they do not understand. It is one point to disagree with a statement, but it is yet another to attempt to tear down an issue because of one’s political affiliation or “common sense.” As Voltaire stated, common sense is not so common. I have a degree in ecology and evolutionary biology and global warming is simply a grab bag term for environment change. The scientific study is simply commenting on the fact that fish eggs are temperature dependent. If Mr. Pink knew anything about fish or biology in general, he might know that fish don’t have X and Y chromosomes like Humans do. Their sex is determined by the surrounding temperature of the water. If the water temperature increases, ergo the fish are male. Sometimes, science groups do pursue certain subjects in order to get grant money, but trust me the government is far less likely to give out money to global warming enthusiasts than they are for cancer research or something in that vein. Come on, George Bush HATES the environment.
So please, leave the criticism to people involved in science. And try to understand the difference between a regular person’s definition of “theory” and a scientific “theory,” they are most certainly different.

This could be a good thing considering all the estrogen & estrogen mimics getting into the environment turning male fish, amphibians, & reptiles into females, this is just what’s needed to restore gender balance! Not all fish are TSD sensitive, though. But, alas, contrary to the AGW hype, the earth has been cooling since 1998 anyway. Bummer!
Of course the biggest impact on the earth’s overall climate is ignored by algore & the IPCC: the sun and sunspot activity. Shhhhh! Let’s not talk about that! If people smarten up and realize that fact it’ll blow our AGW propaganda all to hell and then how will we fleece the unwashed masses? Damn! This is ‘settled’, didn’t you know? A theory’s a theory regardless of what ‘discipline’ it’s postulated in. Webster’s doesn’t differentiate between a ‘run-of-the-mill’ theory and ‘scientific’ theory. Nice try. It’s just that better theories are anchored a little closer to the known facts. AGW is just a WAG (wild ass guess) used as an environmental boogey man to scare the herd to the elite’s bidding. AGW is more hypothesis than theory and not a very good one at that.

i think it is useless studying like that if we did not make an effort to preserve the beauty of the earth,the best thing we need to do is to protect our invironment and help those people who are trying to preserve the beauty of the earth..the thing that causes of the global warming is science..the science is keep developing to get more money..but if they realize that money is useless if the world is gone, i think they will kill theirselves..science is good but it reaches beyond the limitations.
