Memo to Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe and Arlen Specter: You Suck
As you have probably figured out by the title I am just a little miffed at the the aforementioned Republican senators. The big three, the feared three, the turncoat three.
These three Republican senators sided with the Democrats on the president’s irresponsible spending bill that he masquerades as a stimulus bill. These three Republicans sold us out.
I am not talking about partisan politics here but rather what is best for the country and I do not believe that this bill will do any good for the country. I am not alone, polls show support slipping for this bill and doubt rising in the minds of the American people, so much so that President Obama had to go on a campaign style tour to try and sell this bill to the people.
We had a chance to stop or at least slow down the implementation of a massive spending bill during a recession when it is least afforded and these three let America down. This bill is so bad that even John McCain couldn’t take his normal pleasure at breaking party ranks.
The stimulus bill, and I use that term lightly; this is a massive spending bill the likes of which has never been seen, is now headed to conference between the house and senate to see if a compromise bill can be reached and sent to the president’s desk. In spite of Susan Collins’, Olympia Snowe’s and Arlen Specter’s promise that they will play hardball in the upcoming conference this bill will soon be headed to the president for his signature.
Why should we trust these three senators to do what is right when they refused to stop this bill in the senate when they had the chance? This bill is all but a done deal and we can all thank the big three Republicans for showing no backbone and siding with a bill that is destined to fail.
Let me reemphasize– Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe and Arlen Specter, you suck!

I was shocked at Collins and Snowe as they tend to be pretty sensible, but Specter… when he tried to get involved with the NFL’s “spygate” issue, I lost 100% of respect and patience for him. He needs a pink slip.

The differences between the Senate’s version and the House’s version of the Economic Stimulus Package are different; personally I’d like to see the House’s version approved for the President’s signature.

Unfortunately, I think these three are entrenched so we will have to win back three other seats to make up for these three clowns.

Michelle Malkin calls them the “turncoat caucus”. I think that and “you suck” pretty much covers it. Man, we will just have to keep trying harder. No problem—-bring it.

You know, I was thinking. Both Collins and Snowe tend to be fiscally responsibe. Obviously, they said they wouldn’t vote for the bill until it was under 800 billion. But I’m wondering if when you read more on the spending projects, if there aren’t some fat additions to the projects slated for Maine that got them to change their minds.

I totally agree. Sent Specter a message to vote against. Since I don’t live in PA they wouldn’t even respond. God help us all. The Republicans blew the chance to stop spending and now they have no moral authority to stop this. I am thankful that they did what they did. I just hope that if they get back into some sort of power they will learn from their mistakes.

How can you be mad at the ONLY 3 Republicans who have a brain of their own? They recognize that the stimulus package is what this country needs and voted their conscience. Extra kudos to Senator Specter for making his jump across the aisle permanent.

Spectre (correct spelling) is gone and will be forcably retired from the Senate in 2010. Snowe has earned enough of my ire to encourage me to send the maximum allowable to whomever is running against her (Dem or Repub).
To Rhonda, with 9.8% and rising unemployment it is clear that you have no clue.
